Great food! Delicious flavors! This has been one of my new go-to spots. The line can get long sometimes because it's a popular spot.

It gets packed during lunch but the line moves fast. The idea of the cafeteria style restaurant is Mediterranean Chipotle. Food ordered: - Greens + Grains Bowl: 4/5 Lentils, mescula greens, chicken and falafel, feta, roasted red pepper hummus, tatziki, quinoa, cucumber tomato salad, pickled onions (I like!), lemon tahini dressing The chicken seasoning was similar to Chipotle's but the meat was shredded more. The falafels were I gave -1 star because I'm not sure how to eat the bowl correctly. There are so many flavors going on that I don't know if I should try each sauce or side separately or mix it all together (but then what flavor am I tasting?). read more

First time visit to CAVA. Came in for all the hype. The food itself was great, tons of variety, textures, and flavors. The beginning of the order was terrible in terms of customer service. We were greeted by disinterest from Sasha, who made our initial experience very uncomfortable. There were several times where we had to speak up about the half-portions she was giving us. For example, she started off by giving us both a half scoop of rice. She didn't seem happy when we asked for more and gave us each a 1/4th scoop of rice and rushed us to the next station. Next, the container of tzatziki sauce was clearly empty, but she proceeded to scrape what little sauce was left on the sides to give us a sad blob of sauce instead of just replacing the container. Really unfriendly vibes. Fortunately, Max took over our order and picked up Sasha's slack which is the only reason why the visit was okay. Max went above and beyond in correcting the service that was otherwise distasteful. The food itself was great, but we'll probably go to a different location. read more

I enjoy Mediterranean food and I like having CAVA as an option. The food is generally good, but they are a little heavy on the salt on all their food. I've had everything from wraps to bowls. I've had CAVA in Culver City and I don't remember it being too salty, so this might be because they are still working out all of their kinks as a new location. The juices are very good. The other thing they need to improve on is the take out service. At Chipotle or Sweetgreen, I can just grab my bag because my name is on it. They staff seems a little green and was a little oblivious to the fact that 4-5 people were grouping up around the bags. The staff finally realized that we all needed help picking up our orders because they face their receipts inward. I'm not sure if they have formalized what their pickup process is (management and staff). CAVA Woodbury has a lot of potential. If they could fix those two things, then I would give them a higher rating. read more

My daughter ordered greens and grains bowl with half lamb and half chicken and we were charged an extra $3.40. The portion of one full meat and a portion of half and half would be the same so I don't understand why $3.40 is necessary. Her bowl came out 11.75 plus 3.40 totaling 15.15. For the regular portion she got, this is wayyy overpriced. I would understand if she got full portion AND full portion of lamb and was charged extra $3.40. She got half chicken and half lamb and was charged full price of adding lamb which is incorrectly charged. My daughter didn't even know that she was being overcharged because the worker never told her she would be charged $3.40 extra. I looked at my receipt and we were both shocked at what happened. I told my daughter never to do half and half because she will be overcharged a lot. The employees were not clear about telling customers about the extra charge. Ok so from now on CAVA, if someone says half chicken and half lamb, TELL the customer we can't do that but what we can do is full amount of chicken as is and if you want lamb in the bowl, a full portion of lamb will be $3.40 extra. Tell the customer the cost cannot be the same for HALF chicken and HALF lamb, there is no such thing. Please train your employees to be clear to customers. Any time there is an extra charge, NOTIFY the customer what they will be charged. The portion in general should be larger. The employee gave me a very small scoop of rice so I asked her to put more. Also, she was unfriendly and I could barely hear her speak. Also, on their app, if you missed scanning at the register, then you should be able to scan manually just like other restaurants. They don't have this feature in their app. read more

A barely packed Greek salad a side of vegetables and a drink for 20 dollars? Uh really? Is this place that good to be charging so much money for a salad? I don't think so. The flavors of everything is decent, but I wouldn't say they are 20 dollars worth. They barely pack the salad with lettuce and give you tiny scoops of the sides you request. Wow. My bowl was filled not even or barely to the height of the bowl... The person in front of us got free extra protein though. She was ordering two bowls (she was taking a while hogging the line but that's fine, I totally understand). She got a protein for one bowl and wanted to try some others before adding a protein to another bowl. She then wanted to remove some of her previous bowl's chicken so she could replace with another protein but the guy said no, it would cost extra. The guy just ended up adding her another scoop though for free. Oh, sweet, how nice, right? Then we go, and he serves me. I don't give any trouble and don't sample anything. The person I'm front of me sampled two or three items. The person behind me ended up sampling too. I didn't have a good experience today at the Cava Irvine location on Barranca. There hardly 5 people before me and the wait time was still over 45 mins! The person serving us dropped a recipe card on the floor and picked it up but didn't bother to change his gloves etc. The workers looked unenthusiastic and the wait time was way too high. Food was amazing! The flavors, freshness and quality really impressed me. I will be coming back. I ordered the lamb and rice and lentils. The prices were a little high for my liking, they charged me extra for lamb meat and they charged extra for dressing -- so I was not pleased by that, but the food was simple and every bite had an explosion of complex layered Mediterranean flavors. The ambiance was typical to covid precautions, seemed like all staff were apart and wearing masks. The restaurant lobby was closed, take-out only. I did notice the kitchen looked super disgusting and sloppy. I noticed that they had dirty dishes mixed with what seemed to be clean dishes and the kitchen floor had meat blood or something on it, paired with trash on the floor. This was near the grill area where they were grilling meats. They were cooking meat in this environment, so I was a little concerned. Not only that but there were card board boxes piling on the kitchen floor near all of this -- (was it food, where they empty???). Truthfully, it seemed hazardous and probably unsanitary.
