This Cava is in the old Zoes Kitchen location. You can not order in person, so need to use the App or their website. I am used to the App. I ordered my usual salad. I did not explore the menu to see what dishes they included from Zoes. The interior is clean and well maintained. There are several tables inside, as well as outside. An associate greeted me right away. They were polite but did not smile. I asked for an extra serving of dressing, on the side, and the associate promptly provided it. For anyone who likes to try the different juices and soda, you would have to go to the counter and ask an associate each time, or just for refills. Just like a restaurant, for example, in a food court. If you like to watch them prepare your meal, then this isn't the location for you. My salad was as expected. Same portions as other locations. Everything was fresh looking and tasting. Keep in mind that this location opened about a month ago. Some of the early reviews do not seem to have taken this into consideration, or assumed this location was like the others in the area. read more

I'd give it a zero since I never got any food from cava. I couldn't get the order to work it was an online order only place. You can NOT order with a real person though I was inside the restaurant. Don't come here if that's your preference. After 10 minutes, I got frustrated since I hadn't eaten yet and it was three in the afternoon. So I went next-door and got Charlie's cheesesteaks. My daughter (who is very good with technology) still hadn't ordered when I got back with my food. I'm almost done eating and she hasn't even ordered yet. The service was god awful. We were waiting along with 6 to 8 other customers. No orders were coming out. I asked one of the workers where the order was and gave them my wife's name. She said they were working on it. 10 minutes go by. Everyone is still standing around waiting. The same worker discovers bags sitting on a side counter and reads my wife's name. I asked if that it had been sitting there the entire time. She rudely responds that I need to say when I have arrived. I was flabbergasted by the rudeness and ineptitude. If you are someone who prefers to see someone prepare your food do not come here. If you did not download the app before, do not come here. I googled cava and came to discover this was digital kitchen when I arrived. It took 5-10 min to download the app and sign up. Another 5-10 to use the app to order and add my credit card. Finally I placed my order for it to tell me ready in 15 min. While I was there several people came in and left not willing to deal with a digital only location. I got my food a greens and grains bowl and got 8 sprigs spinach. I counted. I won't be back. If I was in the line I could have said hey a little more spinach please. Why are they being stingy with spinach!? Usually meat but spinach!?! It was supposed to be a quick lunch break and I was late to a meeting. I loved this meal. The build your own bowl with braised lamb was huge, healthy, and left me feeling satisfied and nourished. For $15, this is a great deal. In my opinion, CAVA is way better than a comparable chain, such as a Chipotle. I appreciated that they have a dozen topping options, many options for proteins, and that the rice, lentils, and greens were all fresh. I usually love Cava and have no problems with it, but the food missed the mark for me. This was a super cool concept though - a digital Cava, where you order online and pick up. I haven't seen one before so I was excited to try it out! I ordered a greens & grains bowl, but it turned out to be mostly a greens bowl with a sprinkle of rice. I love the rice at Cava, so I was disappointed. There was also a small amount of corn and Persian cucumbers, which I ordered 2 servings of each, but there was a pretty small amount of both. I'm so glad that this location opened! It's a location where you can only order ahead and pick up, so you can't go in and stand in line to place the order. It's pretty convenient this way and I prefer it over Mezeh, which is right down the road. My order has been accurate every time I've ordered from this location! this was my first time at CAVA, and it was a great experience! this location only takes digital orders and will make the food for you behind the scenes. my order took only 10 minutes (+time to download the app), i had a spicy greens bowl and enjoyed their falafel! i also had their pita chips, they were unbelievably delicious i loved them. also, Yosselin was extremely sweet and kind, since i wasn't aware it was a digital kitchen and was "dining in" she offered to make our order as soon as possible. thank you so much to Yosselin for her superb customer service and also delicious food! read more

They cheat! This is a place where you order online & pickup. The order is completed behind the scenes. I have ordered it twice in the last couple of months. Each time many of the things are either not put in at all or literally one piece like 1 piece of the olive or 1 piece of the cucumber might be there. They are cheating on the quantity. You won't get much food at CAVA Digital Kitchen for what you pay. Very stingy with the proteins. Unlike other CAVA locations, orders are placed online and are prepared behind a wall, out of the sight of the customer. This was our first time ordering from this location, and they managed to make mistakes on each of two salads. Certain selected items were missing from each, vegetables that my wife did NOT select were added, toppings that I requested double of were not doubled, and so on. VERY disappointing. We probably will NOT order from this Germantown MD CAVA location again. read more
