The service could be slightly better especially removing empty plates that were piled at the end of the table. Food for the most part was good with a couple of misses. - fried Calamari - it just was tough. - fried mozzarella sticks- solid - Pollo Rosa Maria- very good - lobster Ravioli- excellent - two pasta dishes- one was good and one was a miss. An OK experience at Carrabba's. Prior to this experience I had never dined at Carrabba's and was anticipating it. I dined here on NFL Sunday at the 1pm kickoff and the dining room was virtually empty. I figured it would be as I noticed the light parking lot as I drove up. This restaurant had the games on the televisions at the bar, however, no one was seated at the bar which was another sign of the experience to come. For the restaurant to have so few customers in the dining room I expected the customer service to be great. It wasn't bad, however, you'd think the business would capitalize on having few diners with exceptional customer service. The customer service was just barely enough. The food was ok. It was bland and not bursting with flavor as I'd expect of from an Italian restaurant. This place is definitely good to bring the kids and medium-sized groups considering their booth seating is large enough to accommodate a group of 6. They have a decent kids menu. One thing they can learn from is to bring out all of the entrees at one time. They brought out the kid's meals approximately 10-15 minutes prior to the adult entrees which didn't make any sense. I'll visit again if in the area solely for the seating aspect and comfort associated with a light customer footprint. Give them a try. read more

I was really excited to finally try this place because my girlfriend said it was really good so I finally went. The service was pretty good, they refilled our water a couple times and gave us more bread. The only thing was that they would just disappear for moments at a time especially when I needed something, it wasn't that big of deal. The restaurant itself was also freezing cold, I was shaking because of how cold it was amd so was my girlfriend. Now the food was decent but I expected a lot more. I got the Caesar salad and I loved it, it was so good, which made me even more excited to try the food. But let me just say it was a big let down. I ordered my steak medium rare and it came out rare. It was so rare that cutting into it was super difficult and when I ate it it was way too chewy and grainy. I chewed for so long but couldn't swallow so I had to spit it out, ive never spit anything out before at a restaurant. The steak was also lukewarm and didnt have a sear on it at all, microwaving the steak would have turned out better than what I had. The chicken was an even bigger disappointment. It was so much smaller than they advertised and it was very dry, I didn't even finish it. The seasoning/marinade was also not good and made the chicken not taste right, like kind of sour. The pasta was good but nothing special. After like 5 minutes all the food got cold because of how cold the restaurant was and the food just became inedible. For $70 in total I would expect the food to be of much higher quality and for it to have been cooked right. If I come again I will definitely just stick to pasta because they do not do meat right. read more

Came here for dinner last weekend. Love their Rewards Program, food is consistently good and to be able to take a "to go" dish for $10, you can't beat that. We also took leftovers home. Daughter had the pasta with chicken in garlic tomato sauce (huge and very tasty), hubby had the mahi with veggies, which was also very good. I had the chicken trio, with Chicken Marsala (2 pieces) and the Chicken Rosa, my go to dish. And for more than half the price, we ordered a to go meal. My only complaint is that the waitress could have been more attentive. All and all Carrabbas doesn't disappoint and the prices are decent for the quality and amount of food you get. read more

Hadn't been to Carrabba's since they closed the Frederick location. My in-laws had some gift cards to the Gaithersburg location so we checked it out. We usually go to Il Porto on Muddy Branch but we thought we'd give it a try again. For comparison Carrabba's in Frederick definitely felt upscale. It used to have white linen tablecloths but Gaithersburg doesn't. The booths In Gaithersburg are small for a party of four. We were seated almost immediately. The restaurant has a nice energy with the tables next to the kitchen staff where you can watch the food prepared. The bar has a nice section too with big flat screen TVs. If I was dining alone on a business trip I'd definitely eat at the bar. Our server was polite and friendly but the drinks were slow to arrive. Carrabba's should lose the low-rent picture menus too. The calamari we ordered as an appetizer was hot and crisp. When the drinks finally came the martinis we ordered were served in cognac glasses as they had run out of martini glasses. I mean how do you manage that?? I made the mistake of ordering the lamb chops. They were lukewarm and gummy with no flavor or sear. I make better lamb chops at home under my broiler with rosemary. The asparagus was tasteless too but the garlic mashed potatoes were decent. On the plus side the pasta dishes my in-laws and wife ordered were hot and flavorful. The atmosphere deteriorated during our meal with a screaming baby and annoying "Happy Birthday" clapping by the staff for a large party. If I want screaming kids and low-rent birthday celebrations I'd go to Olive Garden. Carrabba's should be above that kind of stuff. After the meal though the manager came over thinking that the gift cards were because we had a bad experience at a Carrabba's before. We explained that we met the district manager and she mailed the cards to my in laws. The manager is obviously very motivated to improve things so hope she takes this review as constructive criticism. We loved Carrabba's in Frederick so Gaithersburg location experience was a bit of a letdown. Maybe it was an off night because it was Sunday. Other than not ordering the lamb, I'd come back for lunch and order pasta. Prices are pretty good too. $20 an entree or so. Our meal with wine and drinks was $240 for four people. Not bad. Dinner date? I'd go to Il Porto. read more

Went for a niece's birthday. She loves this place! Table bread, pasta, steak, dessert. What's not to love? The calamari is salty and addictive. Served with a marinara sauce and "Ricardo sauce" which reminded me of broccoli cheddar soup, in a good way? The mussels themselves we ok. The white wine sauce was thick with garlic. I love garlic but this was extreme! My linguine pescatore which usually comes with mussels, I asked to hold them because we already had mussels as an appetizer. They were accommodating of my modification. I really enjoyed the large shrimp and scallops with the tomato sauce. The sauce wasn't very spicy but it had a slight kick compared to a regular red sauce. I ate about and saved the remainder for lunch the next day. It's like the Chili's of Italian food, in a good way. They serve hefty portions at reasonable prices. The food is good. Visited on 11/22/2025. The seasonal berry martinis were exquisite. The bread was complimentary, warm, soft and came with spice to mix with olive oil. Our favorite entree is chicken picanti and also tried the chicken trio which was very tasty as well. Carrabba's is hands down the best Italian restaurant in the area. The service is great and the food always comes out fresh and delicious. Dining in is the way to go to get the better food experience. I love the Chicken Bryan and the salmon. Steaks are top quality. I recommend this restaurant for anyone wanting great food for a decent price. They really decorate well for the seasons, and the new take out policy for drinks is a big bonus. Whoever thought of that is a genius! read more

6.17.22 My employer had a dinner event to celebrate 10 years for one of our professional associations. We had Carraba's Chicken Parmesan, which were individually packaged for each order. We also had an Italian mixed green salad and rolls with herb mix and oil. I'm not sure what time our food arrived, but it was cold by the time I ate it. Taste wise, the chicken parm and pasta could have used more salt and seasoning. We also had mini canolis for dessert. My favorite items were the roll and the herb mix/oil and canolis. This dinner was definitely more appetizing than if we had to use our contracted caterer. Definitely a grade up. read more

I came here with a small group for dinner. As we enter, there is no one there to greet us. After peering around the wall, a young female comes. She barely grunted at us as I told her how many in our party. We are seated and there is a VERY nice lady as our waitress. She's smiling and very attentive. She was also patient when we had questions about the menu. Then the food came. The steak (ordered medium) was well done and gray inside. It was tough. There were three dishes with chicken and they were dry and over cooked. The chicken parmesean was black and burnt on the edges. The other chicken in sauces were dry. There was not even enough sauce to try and bring it back to life. The pasta was well cooked (so much for al dente). And, it was not hot when they came out. Was this food precooked, then microwaved until dry and then served? After dinner, the parking lot is pitched black and there is one SUV parked with the lights on several spaces away pointed at my car. It felt creepy so I told members of my group to keep their eyes open as we rush to the car get out of there because my Spidey senses were tingling. As I pull out of the parking lot, my tire monitoring light comes on. I'm like, WTF? I stop by the nearest gas station to check and somehow one tire lost over 12 lbs psi from the beginning of dinner until then. I feel like I'm at in a fish bowl because there are some lights at the gas station but very dark around there. Again, I felt "watched." Thus, getting just enough air to get out of there. Someone purposely screwed in a a screw. How do I know it was on purpose? It was the angle, location, of the screw. I don't venture out the Germantown often and I don't go to Carrabba's often, but this was a creepy experience. By the time we all made it home, there weren't enough bathrooms for us all to deal with the stomach pain. Good luck with your experience. read more

I just moved here from Florida and decided on a "treat yo' self" night out at Carrabba's, and it was perfect! The atmosphere was soft and warm, and you could tell Ada, the manager, and her team truly enjoy being there. My server (I'm so sorry I don't remember her name!) was so nice, attentive, and had a great recommendation for me. The food was delicious, served quickly, and didn't lack quality at all. My wife and I attended a wine pairing event at this restaurant and they did an amazing job. The seating and the event started without delay. The food was excellent and the wines were paired spectacularly. They described the wines and the pairing effects very well. Everything came out at our speed and they even came around to give us extra wine. The four courses were delicious and one included a sirloin steak. It was thick, large and juicy. With sirloin like that you don't need ribeyes. They provided a limoncello bread pudding that was great. The chef was very impressive this night. The staff was attentive and friendly. They accepted my coupon for the special event and I don't think they had to. They even had a deal where you could take an entree home for an extra $10. The dinner included a raffle which was fun. I definitely recommend these events and i know that my wife and I will look forward to our next meal at this fine restaurant! read more
