I don't think I've ever walked out of a restaurant mid-order, but Cava changed that today, or more specifically the most incompetent employee ever who took my order changed that. I walked in at 8PM on a Friday and there were 3 employees taking orders, 2 were occupied with 2 other customers. I had only been to Cava one other time and the two employees who were occupied were the two that took my order last time and they did a good job, so it was extremely unfortunate that they were occupied. So, the only remaining employee took me and my friends order. I ordered the spicy chicken avocado, which, im 99% sure only comes in a pita, and he asked if i wanted it in a bowl, secondly he asked if i wanted half a pita?? What??? You dont do HALF a pita here, no where on the entire menu does it say you can get half a pita. I say a whole pita and he slowly proceeds to grill the pita bread. He lifted up the pita press to check on it, then decided it needed longer, which it didnt, one of the employees saw him lift it up and press it back down and they said it was grilled enough. So be opens the press back up BUT THEN LEAVES THE PITA ON THE GRILL so its still cooking on the bottom, and he leaves it on while taking my friends order. My friend orders the greek chicken pita. A couple seconds pass and this dude says "you wanted the greek chicken salad?" Oh, did i forget to mention that this dude had an airpod in the entire time, and he was listening to music? Yah, so he proceeds to mishear everything that is being said to him the whole time, he then forgets who had what and asks my friend of he had the spicy chicken avocado. We correct him and he finally starts making my pita. My pita start off with hummus and feta spread. He puts a scoop of the feta on, then a scoop of the hummus on, doesn't spread either of them. You're supposed to spread both, each separately, but he just straight up scooped them both and was like "this is fine". This is when i said, im done, i dont want to eat here, and me and my friend left. You may think maybe im being to harsh here, but this was my second time eating at cava EVER, and its like i knew more than the dude taking my order! Maybe i should give him the benefit of the doubt, maybe he was hired at 8PM on a Friday and i was his first order ever. Give me a break. The dude thats only eaten at Cava once should NOT know more than the dude whos being paid to make the food. read more
