    Build your own falafel bowl
    Terry O.

Looking for eateries with vegan options in Boston is not as simple as you might think. Simple swaps like tofu instead of chicken, for example, were not common. I was very happy to find CAVA in the Back Bay area. It's basically Mediterranean fast food done well. It's a bit like Chipotle in how it operates, but not Mexican. I ordered a make-your-own bowl with favorites like brown rice, falafel, lentils, arugula, hummus, veggies and pita. One sister ordered a pita wrap as listed on the menu and the other ordered a falafel bowl as listed. Portions were generous and I couldn't finish mine. Everything was very fresh. Seating was limited on the main floor of the store in Back Bay, but there was outdoor seating and an upstairs. The food preppers were knowledgeable about their products and great with suggestions. I found a site that suggested CAVA was coming to Omaha in 2026. I'm hoping that is true.

CAVA is always a great option for when you're looking for a quick grab & go lunch! I honestly always forget that there is a CAVA right by the Sak's in Prudential and tend to go to the one outside, down the street. Not sure if it was just the day I went, Saturday afternoon, but service was very slow and only one person was working the front & making the bowls, one bowl at a time. I ordered my usual bowl, with arugula and saffron rice base with harissa honey chicken & lamb meatballs for proteins. I like to add corn, tomatoes, feta, pickled onions, and cucumbers, as well. For dips, I typically go with the tzatziki, eggplant, & crazy feta and for dressing, I opt for the garlic. Overall, I enjoyed my bowl! I did notice that the portion sizes here are definitely not as generous as you'd find at any of the other locations, including the ones in the city and even the one down the street.

Amazing food and service, one worker gave me free pita wonderful people!!! Best cava location I've been too!

My friend and I stopped by Cava for a quick lunch because it's conveniently located inside the Prudential Center, right behind View Boston. I ordered ahead using their app, which was super easy to use and made customizing my bowl simple. The food was delicious and everything tasted really fresh! I just wish the portion size was a bit more generous. It might be better to check out the over CAVA location down the street for better portions and seating though.. Staff were efficient and the pickup process was smooth

Amazing make your own salad place! So delicious! Very busy for a 2:00 late lunch, which I think is a good sign! Location was perfect, right in downtown Boston. Think of this as a subway but for salads! There are so many options for literally everything! Lettuce, grains, meats, sauces, veggies, everything is so fresh. I was basic and just got a salad with arugula but you can add grains and pita. I added the chicken, humus, feta, and tomatoes. This was very filling for a late lunch. Also, there were so many drink options that weren't the typical coke, sprite, lemonade. They had their own take on it! This Cava had indoor and outdoor seating. Indoor seating was limited, so we sat outside. It was nice, but the tables were dirty, and they were out of napkins at the time so we couldn't wipe off.

I enjoy visiting Cava when I get the chance, but I don't think I'd re-visit their Prudential location anytime soon. The food is tasty and service is pretty quick, but I was just very disappointed with the portion sizes here. Anytime I order a salad or bowl at other locations, it's usually enough for at least two servings for me. When I ordered the Steak Mezze Salad on my visit, it was barely enough for one serving. Especially when you consider the price, this just doesn't feel worth it to me. It was still tasty and the ingredients were fresh, but I wasn't super impressed.

This is a solid and reliable spot for a great grain or salad bowl. It's my go to! This is my go to spot for a filling lunch. It has great options for everyone. I feel you get your monies worth. During the cold months the space is limited, not a lot of seating is available. I love creating my own bowls and I love you can switch it up. On occasion you can get a person in the seating area that seems sketchy but it's near all the library where a lot of homeless people like to hangout m.

Went here with my girlfriend before a date in the garden and it was lovely. Julie and Martino took care of us and were both so pleasant. The food itself was delicious. Great portions and could tell the ingredients were fresh. Overall would recommend to anyone in the area

I love Cava, the food is always delicious and they have an abundance of vegan options. This location is inside the Prudential food court. Service was fast and friendly. Only thing is that the serving sizes here seem to be a bit smaller than other Cava locations.

    Kristine A.

While they have good food & service, sometimes it's hit or miss here. It's basically your typical salad grain bowl place that you find all over the city. Although there are healthy options, when you're vegan you should be able to get more veggies for less money. There is apparently a rewards program but not really useful if the staff don't ask or tell you about & then you forget. When they are doing their prep work they need to make sure to chop things properly or end up w/ a huge chunk of something that you're not sure what veggie it is, nor does it look appetizing.

    This is the spicy bowl.

The good is fresh and delicious. Not to mention healthy. The service was professional and friendly. And the location was perfect.

Cava is my favorite chain for bowls, they have it down to a great system and I love it! Would always choose this over any sweet green or digg.

Harissa bowl! Tastes wayyy better than it looks lol
    Zwany C.

This Cava is located inside the busy Prudential mall! An Occasional lunch stop for me. The harissa bowl is so so good. So many different components making it a deliciously, nutritious, and filling lunch. Pricey, but that's the Back Bay for ya!

My server had excellent recommendations and was super knowledgeable about the menu and the popularity of items. Food- we got 5 dinner items and 1 dessert item and that was enough for two. Zaatar Bread- our favorite item. Bread was thick but light. Buttery but not overpowering. And the dip! Wow was the dip so good. Whipped Feta- delicious but could've use 2 more chips as the dip to chip ratio was off. Sultans Delight- my wife's favorite dish. Super tender and extremely flavorful. Lamb Shwarma (special)- so good and I hope they add it to their menu going forward. Mussels- mixed. I enjoyed them but my wife did not like them as much. May have been textural for her, but I enjoyed it. Baked Alaska- a must. From the presentation to the flavors- amazing! Can't wait to come back, they earned their Michelin recognition for sure.

Oh, Oleana! Tucked…read moreaway in Cambridge, Oleana is a cozy Mediterranean restaurant serving small plates. My partner and I managed to snag a last-minute reservation on a Tuesday night, and even at 9 p.m. the restaurant was still lively. Between the beautiful decor and warm atmosphere, it made for a great date night spot, though it was admittedly a bit dim (apologies in advance for the photo quality!) Between the two of us, we ended up ordering quite a few dishes: Whipped Feta (4/5): This was good, though I was hoping for a stronger roasted pepper flavor. Nothing wrong with it, but it didn't quite stand out. Interestingly, we overheard the table next to us mention the same thing, so maybe this one's a bit hit or miss. Spinach Falafel (4/5): Another solid dish. It was bright, colorful, and fresh, though a little messy to eat. Our waiter rather bluntly told us to "just wrap it and bite," which caught us a little off guard, but it was good nonetheless. Fatteh (4.5/5): Our favorite appetizer of the night. The creamy roasted cauliflower paired so well with the crispy pita, and I especially loved the sweetness the onions brought to the dish. Sultan's Delight (5/5): As everyone else says, this is the one to order. The beef was incredibly tender and rich. In hindsight, I almost wish we'd had the potatoes from the Adana Kebab to eat alongside it because they would've been the perfect accompaniment. Vermont Quail Kebab (5/5): Tied with the Sultan's Delight as our favorite entrée. The quail was juicy, well-spiced, and surprisingly easy to eat. I'd absolutely order this again. Adana Kebab (4/5): By this point, I think we were simply getting full. The kebab itself was good, but not nearly as memorable as the other meat dishes. Ironically, the potatoes and peppers that came with it might have been my favorite part--they would've paired perfectly with the Sultan's Delight. Baked Alaska (4.5/5): Delicious. The toasted meringue paired wonderfully with the coconut ice cream, though we were a little mixed on the passionfruit caramel, which came across slightly burnt and more acidic than expected. After a while the meringue did become quite sweet, so we ended up pairing some with the Muhallebi. Dark Chocolate Muhallebi (3.5/5): Yes...we ordered two desserts. I was mostly drawn in by the kaymak ice cream, but the Muhallebi itself was almost completely unsweetened. I'm usually all for desserts that aren't overly sweet, but this one leaned more savory than I expected. We actually ended up adding some leftover meringue from the Baked Alaska to balance it out. Looking back, given both our appetites (and our wallets), I think we would've been perfectly happy just ordering the Baked Alaska. Overall, Oleana was a lovely spot for a date night. While it didn't quite live up to the lofty expectations I'd built up from all the praise, we still had a really enjoyable meal. Our main waiter was kind, and I appreciated that the dishes came out in rounds, giving us plenty of time to eat and chat. The meat dishes were definitely the highlights for us, but overall there's a lot to like here.

The two entrees were small but mighty - they were packed with rich meats but also featured microgreens, herbs, and other tangy, bold flavors that really balanced the dishes. I spotted people in sneakers and Birkenstocks alongside others who were dressed up which worked out since we'd spent the day sightseeing and were dressed a bit more casual. We started with the escargot, which was delicious, served out of the shell with toasted sourdough. The complimentary bread was also some of the best I've had and I'm not just saying that because it was free. The wine list was extensive but had something for every price range. We picked a delicious Bordeaux for just $80, which was less than I expected to pay at a restaurant of this caliber. My husband ordered the Cornish hen and I had the duck on a bed of risotto. Both were amazing, and the portions were huge. I ended up taking half my duck home which I really wasn't expecting. The duck was delicious but my husband's hen might have been just a bit better; it was so juicy. We also got a side of the horseradish mashed potatoes; divine. I went in expecting small plates and precious portions like most elevated French spots so this was a welcome surprise. The salmon was very overpriced for how much they offered; $27 for a piece of salmon only a few inches across was insulting, but apparently that is just how it is served there (picture below, you can see the pieces of broccoli are almost as big as the fish!) The other dish we got was the chicken sandwich, which is cut into two halves. The first half was normal but there was basically no chicken on the second half of the sandwich, it was essentially all bread. We brought it up to a manager and they got us a new piece of chicken, which fit entirely alongside the old piece of chicken on the bun because it was so small. On top of that we had to wait around nearly half an hour after finishing and had to flag down a waiter to get our check and go. The service overall was very slow.
