Veggie bowl
Kruti M.

I'm not a huge fan of CAVA, but my friend is so we decided to pick up a veggie bowl. It was mainly her meal, but of course I took some bites here and there. She let me choose one dressing and I picked the tahini caesar. I wasn't expecting anything great because I find CAVA to be mediocre at best, but decided to get something new this time! And thank God I did because this tahini caesar is game changing especially with the falafel. Honestly, I could take the whole container like a shot. It's less like the typical caesar dressing and more so tahini, but there are hints of caesar within. *caesar salads are my favorite, so I might be a bit bias. If you aren't picking this as your side dressing, you aren't doing CAVA right.

Couldn't order on their website either.
Rumit P.

Their app and their website were buggy and not allowing orders so I had to go inside. I really wanted curbside. Revising the overall score because the lentils I ordered in the greens and grains bowl were completely uncooked. Imagine biting down on hundreds of tiny hard pebbles. I couldn't finish it. I didn't enjoy it. The employees were friendly and attentive and the inside was clean and social distancing markers on the floor and contactless pickup shelves off to the side.

Greens and grains

CAVA is a great fast casual because it offers real choices. You can get a bowl filled with just about whatever you want. There are many different choices for both grains and greens, and you can mix them (lentils are a "grain", which helps add variety). The dips and spreads you can get in stores are excellent, as are some of the fresh and rotating toppings. They are very good at falafel, but also have a veggie option if you want that. It's easy to be vegan or gluten-free without sacrificing. It's also genuinely fast and online ordering is available; the convenience factor is high. This location did miff me a bit; my bowl just didn't seem quite that full (especially compared with my neighbor's), and I realize they didn't offer me a mini-pita for free with my bowl, which I think they are supposed to (some clarification on that would be great). Again, I only even noticed this after someone sat down next to me with a pita and I started wondering where mine was; maybe you do have to pay extra for it. Also, something in my bowl-I think it was the couscous-was a bit dry and crunchy like it had been sitting out too long. Still, I got a lot out of that bowl, and I've been to enough CAVAs not to sweat variations in service too much. I expect a bit better if I'm in the area again.

The service was very good, the staff was nice.Plus the food delicious. I will most definitely go back to this location

We seem to get salads from Cava at least once a week. They are reliably delicious. The new eggplant stuff is pretty good too.

After the unexpected closing of…read moreanother local venue, my bartender friend had announced he was going to start working here, and it had already been on my radar. From the pictures and videos I've seen, the place looked quite stunning and I wondered how it fit into the very busy downtown Bethesda. When I finally had a chance to show up, it all made sense. Everything is in a giant basement and of course lovely. The bar really is the centerpiece of the floor, being able to seat dozens of patrons. And from what I was told, the other rooms are used for special events. Hilariously enough, I have not had their food yet, but their drinks have been excellent. Whenever I swing by I happen to already be full from dinner, haha. They have a happy hour that goes until 7:00 on the weekdays they're open, which includes both food & drink. Sooner than later, I plan to return to try out some food. Shout out to Doug!

It wasn't busy and there were not a lot of waitstaff and 2 bartenders. I think there were maybe 20-25 people. Our waitress was good but it did take her awhile to come and check in or get us drinks, etc. She did correct the $20 up charge for the steak and eggs I ordered - $42 when menu was $22. Yeah, I caught that mess. Food: Ok, so in my last review, I was quite tipsy and the flatbread I order was SOOOO good. I was excited to try the food again while sober. Totally different experience. The steak wasn't seasoned much. I had a pretty decent size steak but a friend ordered same dish and his was thin and had a bit of fat he had to cut off. Chef even came to apologize, comp the dish and brought out chicken and waffles for him. Good on chef for fixing the problem but for the future: if 2 people at the same table order the same dish, make sure the main is equal to save yourself from having to come to the table and have a little pow wow... Overall, I think brunch menu was limiting, average offerings and overpriced. I'm so disappointed in Bethesda dining experience. I've been to 2 brunches and both were ok and tbh not worth what I paid for. I live in NOVA and there's a lot more offerings at better prices. MD do better please. I have to cross the river...you own traffic isn't fun.

We ordered a bottle of the Cava, and four small plates, which was plenty of food. The mussels, labneh and Patatas bravas were all very generous portions. The decor is perfect and I love that they've added plants to cover the staircase. Drinks were delicious and the food came out quickly. Our water glasses were rarely empty. Service was kind. Food wise if I were to stack rank I would say the hummus is the best of what we ordered. The pita bread is thick and garlicky and oily and massive. The croquettes would be at the bottom of my list simply because they're dissimilar from any I've had before and a little bit underwhelming. The tuna was fresh but it's a small dish and not much to write home about. The lamb skewers have a subtle kick to them and they're pretty substantial. I'll definitely be back to try more! Highly recommend on a warm summer day as you're covered by the canopy above, if you're looking for a rooftop vibe.

Have you ever loved a restaurant so much you went back twice in the same day? That was me here…read more This Pike & Rose gem in North Bethesda is everything you hope for in a neighborhood spot -- fresh, imaginative Mediterranean-inspired food, a vibrant yet cozy atmosphere, and the kind of place you immediately start planning to revisit. Everything I tried was fantastic, from the perfectly prepared chicken kebabs to the cod with farro. The blackberry vodka cocktail was beautiful and delicious, and the saffron steamed milk with ginger for dessert was absolute perfection. While I thought the menu was limited, it does the job. I wanted Branzino and had that in my mind the whole day but was disappointed that it wasn't on the menu. Welp, y'all know I love a burger. Service was fantastic! Ambiance feels like stepping into a French‑Mediterranean boutique café that someone elevated into a luxury dining room. It's warm, intimate, and softly glamorous without trying too hard. Let's get into it! Chicken Kabob - Seasoned perfectly over rice! Really good! Little Blackbird is phenomenal!…read more I've been here a few times and have never been disappointed. Great service from super friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable staff. A large wine list that they know back to front and can recommend wines from based on your food choices and personal tastes. An elegant but not ostentatious interior. But first and foremost, incredible food. There have been a few items I was unsure of when reading the descriptions, but I have always been blown away by the thoughtfulness and balance that comes with each or their dishes. Of note, their seared scallops that came with a savory and sweet white chocolate sauce were one of my favorite dishes of 2025. Not to mention, the prices here are reasonable and not unnecessarily inflated like other places that market themselves as wine bars. I hope the success here signals a shift in the wine bar model toward unpretentious but thoughtfully designed dishes for a reasonable price. Overall, Little Blackbird is an incredible restaurant that I think deserves more recognition. I will certainly be back soon.

I'd definitely come again to try some of their other stuff and maybe their fun wine pairings!
