This place is a vegans dream of "fast food"!! Similar to chipotle ordering style so it's quick. Sometimes the line in pretty long so if you are in a hurry order on your phone!! I usually order the salad (super greens)and grains (lentils and rice)then throw in the falafel, veggies, both hummus types and harissa. Toss in some mint and vinaigrette and I'm getting ready for the food coma. The ingredients are so packed with so much flavor that all compliment each other. I'm hooked!! Almost forgot to mention that the prices are reasonable but expect to pay more if you want xtra ingredients. Those xtras add up!! My bowl and tea is usually about $17. Well worth the money. I work right next to this location so whenever I am watching what I eat, I love getting lunch from here. I can get a very flavorful healthy meal for 398 calories! In the past, I've had mixed feelings about the food here. I love flavorful food but I'm not a fan of salads so I am very picky when it comes to finding a good salad. I was and am a fan of the spicy meatballs but I use to get it with the Greek vinaigrette and 3 sauces and with a pita bread. Unfortunately, the calorie and fat content on this meal became way too high so then I would go with the chicken and it was GOOD but not AS good. I like the chicken actually which is a surprise considering I'm not a big fan of chicken in general. BUT I still really wanted to find a meal that included the spicy meatballs that would work when I was dieting. While the spicy meatballs is high in saturated fat, the rest of my daily meals are very low in saturated fat so I can afford it. I get a salad (romaine, spinach and arugula), either the red pepper hummus or the egg plant red pepper (but only one because then the calories go over 400). The red pepper hummus keeps me at 398 calories. I get the pickled onions, the tomatoes and red onions and sometimes a lemon wedge. For my dressing I get the lemon tahini. Getting the same toppings but with chicken or falafel is actually really good too and even better because the calories are lower. When I'm dieting, I look forward to this meal every day! read more

My husband and I were shopping at Whole Foods and decided to try Cava for dinner on Sunday. It was about 4pm and empty! Which was a plus because we have never been and knew we'd have some questions. Our server walked us through the process and pointed out the different dips, proteins, toppings, and sauces. I ordered the grains and greens bowl w/ chicken, tzatziki sauce and eggplant hummus (pretty good!), and a lot of the toppings. My husband got the grains and greens w/ lamb meatballs, tzatziki and harissa dip, and a few toppings. Their food is pretty fresh for the most part. I tried the meatball, and I did not care for it (I don't like lamb in general); I also found it really dry. We each got juices, vanilla bean limeade and cucumber jalapeno. The juices were great; unfortunately, they did not have lids for the cups we had because they were out. Overall a pretty good experience. I would definitely go back. read more

We normally love Cava, and have been to several of them around the DC Metro area. We have been to the Cava in Ashburn before, and enjoyed our meal on those occasions. Today was a huge disappointment. The portions were quite small, and when we complained about them we were told that the bowl size had changed and it was an optical illusion. Even if the bowl is a different size, it was hardly a normal portion (see picture attached). And, after paying for what I hoped was a nice comfort food meal - we don't eat out a lot - I'm still hungry. This was terrible customer service and we will not likely be back to this location. read more

Was invited to eat here today with the endorsement that "at least when I eat here I feel like I'm eating healthy". I suppose I agree with that. I've been to a place like this before but it reminds me of subway - they fix your dish in an assembly line kind of thing as you watch over and direct each stage. First choice - rice or lettuce/salad. You can have both. Dip - I was confused, thought this was dressing. it's just thicker. Protein - chicken was my choice, not sure what else they had. Veggies - they offer cooked or raw veggies. I got both but the cooked should be reserved for the rice dishes... I had a salad. Dressing - see this is when I figured out the dip isn't the dressing. And it's all in a bowl. You can get bread. I didn't. I ate the salad. I was hungry. It fit in my low carb diet (that gets big points). I didn't love it, but it was better than I expected it to be. Would I go here again? Yes. Would I recommend it or suggest it? Probably not unless someone had diet restrictions or something. read more

I've only had one issue recently but it was resolved in no time. We came a little late , I believe it was 30 minutes before close and they were out of spicy lamb. It is very yummy.. The portions are kind of small for the price though. I used to get the chicken, but the last 2 times I got it, it tasted kind of strange. Now I get the lamb, which is great but it is a little extra cost. My favorite toppings to get is the feta, pita crisps, crazy hummus, cucumbers, and maybe one other topping. Continuing my love of Mediterranean food, thought I'd give this place a try. I ordered online at 2pm for a 2.45pm pick-up. I received text and email confirmation.Arrived at 2:43pm, nothing was ready. I waited. And waited. And waited. I spoke to the manager. My order was somehow overlooked. They offered to make it for me right away, so I guess it was fresh. I went with a rice-based bowl, with chicken and various veggies. Fresh and delicious. The Manager kindly waived the charges, as a means of apology. I didn't ask for a free meal, but got one. CAVA never fails to impress me with their quality of freshness within their food. I wish the attitudes of the employees paralleled more with this. Everytime I go in I feel rushed, regardless if there's anybody else in the store. The employees today seemed unimpressed and unenthused as I took an extra second to decide what I wanted. I find myself picking random ingredients quickly just to try and speed myself up. Once I reached the register I barely got a greeting, just a total and quick swipe of my card. Absolutely the worst experience ever, ended up going to Chipotle 2 doors down and I was in and out in 4 minutes. I understand with COVID-19 going around that there will be a lot of phone in orders; however, there's no excuse for allowing customers to wait in line, in store, for over 20 minutes while you prepare to go orders for customers not even there yet. I counted them making 17 orders in front of me all while I waited. It took them 15 minutes to even acknowledge my presence and even then they completed 2 more orders before they got to me. While I waited 3 customers came in and got their orders while there was roughly 5-6 bags waiting. When I was finally helped, I asked for white basmati rice and low and behold a lady working there with an ill fitting covering over her face that would provide zero protection might I add--who also kept pulling it up with her hands, mind you. Swoops in and takes the last of the rice. I was told and I quote "it'll be another 4 minutes" I turned around and walked out, totally unbelievable. First off I do want to say that Cava's food is absolutely delicious and this review has nothing to do with food quality. It seems that this particular locations has become a complete money hungry operation.... They nickel and dime you for everything. The woman in front of me asked for a little more rice in her "GRAIN" bowl and she was told it was 2.40 extra - rice is pretty much the cheapest food in the world. The prices of the bowls seem to go up on a regular basis. My grains and greens bowl which used to come with a pita no longer does - 1.50 extra. The fact that the braised beef if 2.00 extra is insane - i understand the lamb. I really hope that Cava takes this review seriously as I am truly disappointed on how things are being run now. read more

I was told this is a healthy chipotle . Second time here. It's like they combined naf naf and chipotle together, added even more choices, and removed the burrito option. I submitted a review about the Ashburn, VA Cava a few months ago. The food is fine, but the SERVICE has gone from bad to ABYSMAL. Just when I thought it could not get worse, one of the servers outdid any server I've ever had at any restaurant in my entire life. I let her slide when she started out serving skimpy portions of everything, but when she got to the chicken, she gave me two half scoops. When I asked for a little more, she said it would be extra. One of her coworkers/manager passed by, looked in the bowl and told her to put more chicken in it. After she put the correct amount of chicken in the bowl, she walked off to the back of the restaurant. No one else was standing at any of the serving stations because they were either food prepping, cooking, or at the cash register. So I just stood there with my mouth open waiting for someone to complete my order. Shortly after the woman walked off, 3 of her coworkers apologized multiple times for what happened saying 'they didn't understand why she did that.' I have no expectation of receiving decent service from this Ashburn, VA Cava, but I wish corporate would do something about it pronto. Their servers are out of control! read more

Cava was an instant favorite! Everything is flavorful, fresh, and fast. You can easily make a meal that is healthy, filling, and super delicious! My go-to order is a super green salad, harissa (a must!), regular and roasted red pepper hummus, grilled chicken, and allllllll of the extra veggie toppings! Along with the staples, they add new seasonal items and fruit juices to the menu, which are fun to try. They also list where some of the food is sourced from! What more can you ask for? read more

I love Cava but there are problems with this location. Out of 4 Uber Eats orders, only 1 was correct and complete with all requested and purchased items. I was promised a refund on my account that was never credited. I went back after receiving a free meal from previous review which at some point when I was paying the lady was hesitant to take the free voucher. I got my usual which is braised lamb and spicy meatballs with rice. The meat was not as salty from previous which is good but the rice was not cooked all the way , some had crunch due to being undercooked. First off, I love Cava... at Tysons and Bethesda. I was really excited that they opened one up out here. The food was fine at this location, but like another reviewer said there was not menu posted or labels on any of the food, nor was the staff at all helpful with figuring out what stuff was... like a first timer is suppose to know what all the different meats, dips and dressings were? Luckily I picked up menu on the way in because of someone else's review. Even with that, got no help from staff. Disappointing. They also had no silverware except 1 spoon and plastic knives. We had to ask for them to get more. Maybe they're still trying to hire better staff or trying to open but can that be an excuse? I'll give them another try in a month or so, or I'm sticking to the other locations. read more

Oh. My. Full disclosure: I can be a somewhat picky eater, particularly with mixing textures, so I've been really avoiding coming here. But today I was joining a large group for lunch so I didn't have a choice. Luckily I was with two experienced Cava-goers who were happy to show me the ropes and explain the process to me (which is good, because when I mentioned to the person behind the counter that it was my first time, she offered no assistance.) I ended up getting a mixed greens and brown rice bowl with lentils; two scoops of harissa and one of eggplant and red peppers; chicken; and cabbage slaw, tomato and onion, kalamata olives; and topped it all off with the Greek vinaigrette. The menu can be a little overwhelming, so feel free to copy my order and treat yourself to an explosion of fresh ingredients and delicious flavors. They also had an assortment of cold teas and I had the hibiscus green tea. I pride myself on my appetite and was only able to eat about 80% of my bowl - it was huge. And the prices were extremely reasonable given they source ingredients locally whenever possible. I loved everything about my lunch today and can't wait to go again with the whole family.
