I normally don't do airport food, but I was starved after waiting for 3 hours to get on my flight. I passed this place, but remembered a friend from NYC telling me that they have great food. I know most terminal restaurants are OVERPRICED and the foods, well meh... NOT CAVA, I waited til a bit before takeoff to order, because I wanted to eat in First Class. Side bar: Don't you miss the days, when planes serverd a HOT MEAL? Anyhow, I ordered the chicken salad with kimchi and I wanted Caesar dressing but they we're out of ALL of their dressings except one...Siracha Greek Yogurt! YUMMMMMY! I opened it once the plane got to 10000 ft. and the smell drove my neighbor in 2D crazy! Lol IT WAS THE BEST SALAD, I'D EVER TASTED‼If u ever get a chance try CAVA. Thanks! read more

Wow! Delicious food and great value! You can really pile on the goodness with various selections. A great healthy option and fully customizable! Have never eaten at a Cava Mezza before and glad to run into it at the airport. Fully satisfied with my huge salad bowl and yet I don't feel stuffed. I'll look for these around. read more

Great food, some of the best airport food anywhere. Super healthy, reasonably priced.

It's incredible to think that one of our most memorable meals while in DC we got at the airport as we were leaving! The food here was fantastic, fresh, flavorful, exciting even. This place is so good my husband even text me about it days later raving about how awesome the food was so.... he really helped and inspired this review as well: Feta, olives hummus, rice, mint, lemon, onion garlic, lamb and beef, cardamom cinnamon. I got the eggplant and pepper spread and the crazy feta spread.... all these flavors were So intense together! I would definitely choose this food over any of the other options there were. And I would definitely choose this food outside of the airport as well; I really wish we could bring their business to our hometown. read more

I really love CAVA. This location is at the Delta terminal and is worth the haul if you want a healthier, reasonably priced airport meal ($12 but good serving size). It was definitely my most colorful meal after a weekend of carbs. I went with the grains and salad option choosing 3 dips (reg hummus, red pepper hummus, eggplant), a protein (spicy lamb meatballs +$1.90 and worth it), all the toppings and a tumeric based dressing. I am so full right now but I am so happy I went this route rather then the usual airport fare. read more

The food here is fine, but the employees were unbelievable. Three of them had possibly the worst attitudes I've ever encountered dining. I got eye rolls, sarcasm, and snippy impatient "just pick one" from the guy adding my toppings. There wasn't even a line. I was the only customer, and the whole process took me less than 5 minutes even though it was my first time at a Cava Mezze Grill. They were rude from the onset for no reason. I've never been to one of these and it looked promising because of the healthy ingredients options, but I also had to read the menu and read the list of proteins, dressings, etc. to know how it worked. Only one employee, the one at the start of the assembly line, was polite. She wasnt particularly friendly or anything, she just didn't act like a jerk. After that, I asked a question to the next guy and he literary said "read the list." Then I said to the next guy "I want a dressing but let me read the list first since I don't know what you have" and he snapped back "just pick one" after rolling his eyes. I don't even understand how these people are employed. I am not a difficult customer and clearly I didn't know how it worked, but I still moved pretty quickly and decisively. Even if I hadn't been quick and decisive, there still is no excuse to be rude. That kind of behavior just isn't acceptable. There's something fundamentally wrong in this organization or branch if 3 out of 4 employees are comfortable being disrespectful jerks to their only customer. read more

This place deserves all of its great reviews. It is really rare to find a place in an airport that serves good high quality food. My first clue was that most of the Travelers in this terminal are carrying a take-out bowl from this place. It's essentially customized Mediterranean food. You can build your own Bowl with a variety of different fresh ingredients. I loved it so much that I've been recreating it at home the past few days. The only thing I'm missing is the pickled vegetables which are really fantastic. I will definitely be visiting this place again next time I'm going through this Airport. Highly recommend. read more

This is like Chipotle only Middle Eastern and a bit better. Surprisingly good and reasonable for the airport.

Good concept. No where to sit. The rudest cashier I've experienced in a long time. Food was luke warm but good. At the end of the day, it is airport fast food and the staff is probably a third party. read more

CAVA - Salad Near Me - Arlington, Virginia

I love dining at CAVA. but especially the people at this airport location were so friendly and nice. Other locations ive been to, they make annoyed face when i take time to decide which toppings/dressint i want. But everyone here seem to be very patient and always smiling. Food was of course great. read more

This place is like a Mediterranean Chipotle. I mean that in a good way, so don't get yer panties in a bunch. I had a bowl with super greens and black lentils and added tzatziki, falafel roasted veggies, tomato and cucumber, and pickled banana peppers. It sounds like an odd combo, but it was delicious. They also have great drinks like Panna, Soindrift and Pellegrino. They do have a kids meal and serve their food in what appears to be compost able containers. I wish they had compost and recycle trash options! read more

Wow! I was shocked by the excellent food at this airport restaurant. The food was so good and the variety was so great, that I am giving five stars for that alone. I considered going down on stars because of a couple of things I did not like: inattentive staff, no seating, semi-confusing menu and, of course, the very high price. After asking for help on how to order and what everything was, I was able to make a very good decision to get a rice bowl with the pita on the side. The lamb meatballs were very good. The black round, rice-like grain was very good with a nice crunch. The hummus and tzaziki sauce were good. The entire dish made me feel very satisfied. read more

People DIE for cava mezze, and I probably shouldn't have tried it for the first time at the airport, but I did and meh. I have been super excited one is opening near my house in shaw, and I'll likely give it a try, but the service was unfriendly, the portions were stingy, and I just didn't love it. In their defense it was breakfast hour and they serve a breakfast version and I imagine the airport requires it, but no, no hummus with my eggs, thank you very much! It's still one of the better options at the airport, props to Dca for bringing in local chains. Kinda bummed I wasn't at the terminal where &pizza is. read more

We have been in Washington DC for 4 days and I have to say that this was the best food we have had since being here (and it was at the airport before leaving to go back home). Washington DC really needs to step up their game as far as good food in the city is concerned. read more

This was a completely awesome find at the Reagan Airport! Nicely prepared mezze in a salad. Light, healthy, flavourful and delicious! I could eat here everyday! Great selection and unique combinations of meats, falafel, hummus, tzatziki, arugula, etc. Also a great value! Not expensive and very satisfying. Too bad they are only in the DC area. They should be in every major metro airport! read more

I loved the delicious I got here during a wait at the airport. The food was all very fresh. Many of their toppings are dairy and gluten free which is why I chose to eat there. I especially loved the sun dried tomato sauce which was rich and a bit spicy. I'd definitely go back here if I was back at DCA and would love to try more options in the future. read more

Food is delicious, however their service is severely lacking in friendliness and they are stingy with what they give. I'm curious if the other locations outside of the airport are like this. read more

Wow I wish we had Cava back home. It's the Chipotle of Mediterranean food. I got a grains bowl to go with falafel and it was delicious. The pita chips were also great. I wish they gave you more hummus! They packed everything up perfectly for my flight. Love Cava! read more

I've been to several Cava locations and have always had positive experiences at each. The DCA location in the Delta terminal near gate 16 pales in comparison. If Seinfeld's soup nazi has a grand daughter, she works the line at this location. Granted, I was there at breakfast time. However, all the ingredients for a bowl with super greens were stacked and ready to serve directly behind her - DIRECTLY BEHIND HER AND READY TO SERVE! Yet all she knew how to say was it's breakfast, we are serving the breakfast menu. The options offered were rice, potatoes, and black lentils. I opted for the lentils, only later to learn they were very undercooked. I should have known this when she placed them in the bowl and they skittered about like gravel on a metal tray. Next up we're the standard filling options like hummus and the super feta -JUST EXACTLY AS DURING LUNCH! Why couldn't I get my super greens? Cava lady says I get three, just like at lunch. I pick two and she throws my bowl down the line. The next lady gets the bowl and I ask about the third, which she then goes back and adds. At this point I ask the original lady, "are you always this friendly in the morning?" She didn't acknowledge me in the slightest and returned to her duties asking everybody in the same rapid fire declaration, "Hi, how may I help you?" after which I'd hear yet another staccato spill of undercooked lentils spooned into a bowl. Next up was my protein choice. I chose falafel, just like at lunch. In fact all the proteins were the same offered at lunch! My falafel however were nowhere nearly as good as other locations. They were doughy and limp. They tasted as if there was a lot of filler included. The had a much more glutinous mouth feel than any other I've ever eaten. The other options and sauces were also the standards. The only thing I couldn't get were my super greens painfully teasing me from behind the counter. So close, yet so far away. The cashier was marginally nicer though still somewhat curt. It wasn't busy, so it's not like she was rushing. And even if she were, a little courtesy would go a long way. I shall never go back to this location. My simple summary of this experience, it sucked. read more

My must stop flying through Regan! Worth my clear membership to have enough time to stop all kinds of bowl options with flavor, spice, and healthy choices - 5 or so delicious hummus options, and falafel on point. read more

Surprisingly good airport food. It's a Mediterranean version of Chipotle, with lots of great toppings and proteins to choose from. From an assortment of greens, saffron basmati rice, lentils, pita and spreads (eggplant and red pepper, hummus, tzatziki, harissa, and more), proteins (grilled chicken, falafel, braised beef, lamb, and more), toppings (mint, olives, quinoa, tomato and onion salad, and more) and dressings (yogurt dill, green harissa, greek vinaigrette). It would be very difficult to not find anything you would like with all the prepared items. I would love to come back if I'm traveling through this terminal again. Better yet, if they opened up near me! read more

If only all airports could have such good, fresh food and so many options. The portion of food was so much that I could barely finish but yummy enough that I sure did. The greens and lettuces were amazingly fresh. Arugula at an airport makes waiting around almost bearable. I will be on the lookout for these restaurants in the future. read more

Was really excited to try this place as my wife has taken me to the one in mosaic before and it was great. However both my meal and my wife's meal here at the airport tasted stale and just off. I would not recommend this location at DCA to anyone. read more

A great healthier, fresher option for airport food. I felt a little rushed to make decisions and later wished I'd have tried a couple different things. I went with the black lentils and super greens for my base. A few more greens would've been nice. I added hummus and the feta dips which were both very good. All of the options in that category looked delicious. Lots of toppings to choose from and this is where I should've slowed down despite the hurry up looks. Overall the flavors were pretty good, not outstanding, but good. I wish they had some suggested combos for newbies like me to get some ideas. read more

I typically fly out of Terminal B, and when I do I hit up Cava Grill before I fly. This is some of the freshest and best airport food I've had. In my opinion when flying it's best not to have a gut bomb before you get on the plane - Cava is the perfect alternative. Just watch out for the harissa and harissa dressing - they're spicy! read more

A welcomed addition to terminal B of DCA! Of all the years going to Cava Mezze, I had never been to a Grill (Chipotle style). Both the service and food were fast, friendly & fantastic!! Even though the options are fewer, you still get to enjoy some of the best Cava flavors! read more

I got a breakfast bowl and was disappointed. First of all, I was expecting something with egg, sausage, cheese, etc but the only options they had were things that seemed more appropriate for "dinner" (falafel, picked onions, banana peppers, etc). However, even if the toppings had been good, I wouldn't have minded but somehow, the potatoes were cold and rubbery and the eggs and Greek chicken sausage were both way too oily. Ehhhhhh read more

During our 3.5 hour delay Cava was a welcomed and much needed addition to our terminal. I have learned after reading some reviews that this is a new opening and could not come at a better time or location. I have tried the grill across the hallway and Cava was good enough to entice my interest in their locations outside the terminal world. Very similar in design and delivery as a Chipotle, Cava offers a build your own Mediterranean bowl. If what you create is not tasty then you only have yourself to blame for the benefit or not. Many of the ingredients were new and fresh to me. With a seemingly endless number of combinations you can be assured that every visit could be a unique one if you tried. There is also the added benefit of beer options to help ease any layover pains you may have. Thanks for a great spicy meal and look forward to trying other menu options outside. Thanks! read more

I was not very optimistic about finding a good vegetarian meal at the airport but I was very pleased with what I had at Cava. I had hummus and falafel in a pita with all kinds of toppings and everything was great, very enjoyable and a pleasant surprise. I thought it was bit expensive but no other complaints! read more

Outside realm of normal airport eateries. Avoid baked eggs in breakfast options. Odd taste. Otherwise interesting Mediterranean flavors and blends. Proteins looked burnt and coffee was undrinkable. Regretfully Starbucks line next door stretched to back of terminal. Zero stars for service. Employees need customer service training. read more

The food is absolutely delicious. It's like Chipotle but with Mediterranean food. I wish there was over by me. I would eat there 3-4 days a week. The rice bowl with the meatballs was unreal. I loved it. Would highly recommend trying this place. Flavors and food were fantastic. read more

The food was amazing. I'm new to Mediterranean cuisine. The staff was fantastic at recommending and answering all my questions and letting me taste several things I had never had. You get to build your own meal...I had this massive bowl of food as I wanted to try nearly everything. With a split entree, and a taste of everything else, I had a taste explosion with every bite that changed with every bite! It was quite the sensation....unlike anything you can get with a typical meal. To make this even better is the price was so reasonable! I will definitely be stopping there again every time I pass through DC Reagan. read more

Great option for fresh, health and tasty food before your flight. My breakfast bowl cost something like $7.50 and contains two falafel patties, an egg, rice and all the toppings you want. First time I've eaten here so I tried a bit of everything, including spicy harissa and lemon tahini and lots of olives (love olives!!). It's quite tasty and perfect to take on the plane.
