I had a very disappointing experience at Cattle Dog Coffee Roasters and won't be returning. We ordered coffee and scones first. Unfortunately, the coffee was bitter and unpleasant, and the scone was incredibly dry and almost completely flavorless. That alone was disappointing. The bigger issue was the customer service. When I walked back into the building, it was 11:29 all I wanted was to order one of the pre-made breakfast bagels, it had just turned 11:30. Even though the bagel was already made and sitting there, I was told they wouldn't serve me because breakfast had ended. There was absolutely no flexibility, despite the fact that I had been at the counter just moments before. As I was leaving, frustrated, I said, "Thanks for nothing." Another employee asked what was wrong, so I explained the situation. She then said she could give me the bagel after all, but immediately followed it by saying there was "no need for the comment." By that point, the damage had already been done. Instead of acknowledging why I was upset or apologizing for the situation, I was made to feel like I was the problem. Between the poor-quality coffee, the dry and flavorless scone, and the rigid, unfriendly customer service, this was one of the worst coffee shop experiences I've had. There are plenty of places that value both good food and good customer service. I would recommend spending your money elsewhere read more

I had to come here since we actually own a cattle dog (blue heeler) and we also love cofffee. Since we already had coffee twice that day, we got a strawberry frozen drink which was very good. The chocolate chip cookie was also good. They have a shelf full of awesome K cups you can choose from and they are $1 per pod. We got a full 12 pack. I liked all the interesting flavors they had. We got into town early for our snorkeling tour so decided to stop in for coffee. There's a wall of unique coffee creations- I tried one with banana, hazelnut and chocolate and it was so good! Charming local coffee shop on the main thoroughfare of Crystal River. Free parking for customers in a gravel lot behind the shop. Entrance is located about half a story up, accessible via ramp or stairs, with some outside seating available for sunny days. The main dining room has several wooden 4-person tables, with a wall of house-roasted beans for sale on the right and a nook with additional seating on the left. Main menu is displayed in a rotating fashion on the screen behind the register, sandwich specials are listed next to the register, and pastries are displayed so you can salivate as you wait to place your order. A lot of the specialty drinks were too fancy and sweet for my taste, but if you're a coffee-is-dessert person, they will likely tempt you. The bagel and croissant sandwiches look and smell amazing. We stopped in after an early morning swim and were pleasantly surprised by their food selection. We've found sometimes in Florida you cannot get both espresso coffee drinks and food at the same establishment, so this was a huge bonus! I was looking for breakfast in the area that had good food but wasn't a full service sit down establishment because I was on a time crunch. I came across this coffee shop and i'm so glad I did. First the restaurant is very cute. There's a nice outside porch with tables and chairs for eating and the inside is nicely decorated. I got the iced chai and it was made perfectly, I was very happy. For breakfast, I got the Apple Butter toast and it was to die for. I mean really it was one of the best breakfast toasts i've ever had. When I finished my first I immediately wanted a second. I also got the cinnamon bun to share with my friend and it was also amazing. It was the perfect amount of sweet. Great local coffee spot!! We swing by here when they opened first thing before our tour and were pleasantly surprised by this adorable place. They have adorable sitting areas, both inside and out. That have a great selection of unique teas, local honey and coffees. They also have a nice breakfast and lunch menu. I ordered the berrylicious latte, which tasted like a crunch berry. A good local coffee store! It gets quite busy, so anticipate a 10-15 minute wait minimum. We tried the frozen chai tea latte and the frozen strawberry lemonade, which were just okay. The flavors were too mild and they added too much ice, which watered down the drinks. I recommend trying the hot coffee and the variety of beans. read more

Amazing hidden FOOD gem in Crystal River. I ordered ahead through an online ordering process and it was done on time when I got there. I ordered a steak mushroom sandwich, small cold brew coffee and a lemonade smoothie. Everything was delicious and the sandwich was bursting with flavor. This place is a hidden gem! I don't really know if it's a secret but I was not expecting the service, food and beverages to be 12 out of 10! We were visiting the area and just happened to stumble upon this place on yelp. We were immediately greeted with huge smiles and a run down of the parties, breakfast items and coffees! We all made our selections, the food and coffees (and hot chocolate) came out prompt and in gracious portions! My coffee and breakfast sandwich were to die for! Having just moved to Florida, I was surprised how few coffee shops there are outside of Starbucks. So imagine my delight when I found Cattle Dog coffee roasters in quaint Heritage Village. This location out of the local four is the bomb! My husband and I drive from Weeki Wachee because the staff are incredible and make my mocha perfect every time. No matter how busy it gets, the employees are always super friendly and fast with cranking out the orders. Had to escape Miami for a weekend to explore the springs, and Cattle Dog Coffee Roasters was our go-to spot for morning coffee. Chloe was behind the register and she was super sweet! She gave us menu recommendations, as well as spring recommendations. I usually get an iced mocha latte but Cattle Dog has a list of lattes made with different flavors and mixes. I tried the Spazzy Nutty Monkey, which is made with hazelnut, banana, and chocolate. Interesting combo but really yummy!
