My boyfriend ordered the chicken co-op and I ordered the country eggs Benedict. These were some of the best biscuits we've ever had. This is a no frills kinda place but delicious. For 2 extremely full breakfast, a side of corn beef hash and 2 iced coffees (they even put ice on the side for us) with tip the meal was $43 and we took home half of our plates.

Three complaints: (1) parking was limited but definitely of size for the seats available in the restaurant; (2) the coffee was WAY too strong, bitter, and lacking normal coffee notes; and (3) they added a restaurant fee on the ticket. Date:July 3, 2026 I was with my daughter, her friend…read morevisiting from South Carolina, my other daughter, and several friends for what was meant to be an enjoyable evening at Saint John's Tavern in Crystal River. After we were served cocktails, the bartender asked my daughter and her friend to show their South Carolina driver's licenses, took them to the back, and returned claiming they were fake. Both women are well over 21 and legally able to purchase alcohol. Instead of handling the situation discreetly, the bartender publicly accused them, refused service, and told them to leave in front of our group and other customers. It was humiliating. As a mother, it was upsetting to see my daughter treated this way, and even more so to watch her friend--already going through a difficult time--leave in tears. They came to Florida to spend time with family and relax, but were made to feel like criminals. I understand the need to verify IDs and prevent underage drinking, but concerns about out-of-state licenses should be handled professionally and respectfully, with reasonable efforts to verify before making accusations. No customer deserves this treatment. What should have been a pleasant evening became upsetting for everyone involved. I hope management reviews this incident, provides better training on verifying out-of-state IDs, and reminds staff to treat customers with courtesy and professionalism. I would not want another family to experience what we did.
