St. John's tavern is such a nice place in a cute little town right off of highway 19. I enjoy going…read morethere to meet with friends that live that way and my husband and I love to go when our favorite band, Rick Lynn is playing. Don't pass this place up, it's a great time with great food!

At the end of the night as we're getting ready to go back home, we went back for one last drink. We both presented valid, unexpired South Carolina driver's licenses that were genuine and in good condition. At the door, the bouncer told us they don't typically accept South Carolina IDs, but ultimately allowed us inside. When we went to order drinks, the bartender refused to serve us, claiming our IDs had "scanned as fake." When we questioned that, we were then told they didn't actually have an ID scanner. We even offered to have local law enforcement verify that our IDs were legitimate, but they still refused to serve us. We completely understand the importance of checking IDs and appreciate that businesses have to be cautious. However, being given conflicting explanations and feeling like our valid out of state IDs were dismissed without a legitimate verification process was frustrating and embarrassing. If there is an official policy regarding South Carolina IDs, it should be clearly communicated. If there isn't, I hope management addresses this so other visitors with valid out of state identification don't have the same experience.

They have a few small tables and chairs for people like us who want to eat in instead of taking the food home. Inside looked nice and clean - cute little set up. Open Monday through Saturday from 8 - 4 they serve a variety of breakfast and lunch sandwiches. Since it was a little after noon I opted to get The Capone's Italian. Service was friendly and quick to get our sandwiches ready. I ordered a large and ended up taking half of it home for the next day. It was big and delicious! The roll was nice and fresh and it was filled with Cappicola,Genoa Salami,Pepperoni and I switched out the Provolone cheese with the White American cheese. Topped with shredded lettuce, tomatoes, red onions, mayo and deli dressing it was a treat. Their sandwiches are served with a deli pickle spear which was crisp and tasty. I love this little Italian Deli!

Pasta salad, good. Turkey sub, good. Pork roll sandwich..... Had plenty of pork roll, egg and cheese. But it was on a plain old HAMBURGER bun!!! Very disappointed. If I ever go back or am in the area, I will pay extra to get it on a toasted bagel. Should have known they didn't have kaiser rolls. And if they were out of them, they should have said something. Sandwich insides were good. On a hamburger bun, not so much.

They closed at 4:00 PM making it difficult for people just getting home from work. For some reason their menu items got smaller and high prices. The signage is terrible as it sits in between Kellys and Dominos. So let me be clear, the food itself was decent, which is why I gave it 2 stars. However the value is horrendous! Now I understand that given the current political climate that inflation is a thing, but 1 the menu is not updated to current prices and their website is nonexistent. My buddy and I ordered 2 regular cheese steaks "hero" style which included 1 slice of tomato, an undetermined amount of onion, and a smidge of 1/2 wilted lettuce which turned out to be slightly larger than a stadium sized hotdog 8" maybe..? Fountain drinks were extra with only one size available so 2 of those were added to the order. The bill was almost $33!!!! Let me emphasize that although the quality was decent at best, this was in no way a lunch from Tony Luke's!! The restaurant is clean, but there was zero customers in there to dirty it up. Needless to say, there is no chance whatsoever that I will return to pay $33 for a lunch that should have been $16-$18.
