We made a reservation, paid $16 each for a 50 minute visit, and it was absolutely worth it. Kayla, who was working the front desk, was friendly, helpful, and welcoming, which made the experience even better. We started in the kitten room, and the time flew by so fast that we never even made it to the adult cat area. The kittens were incredibly playful, social, and engaged, and it was very clear they are being well cared for. If you love cats, enjoy good and inexpensive coffee drinks, and want to support a local business with a great mission, I highly recommend checking this place out. I am not going to lie, we were nervous reading web page that dogs are unattended at times. Our pup is 6 months and has never been left unattended away from home. We got there and did a tour around 11. We were pleasantly surprised with the room and areas they had. We felt it was clean for the number dogs and locations they had. It appeared organized with knowledge of dogs and temperaments and who goes where. I did express several times, I was fine with Stanley being left in a kennel by himself. We were only going to be gone for a few hours and was concerned with just the 2 staff folks there and all the areas for dogs to play. It does seem they have regulars so know the dogs well and who would play well, with whom. I appreciate the ability to text. I checked in about an hour after we left, all was well. I received a text a couple of hours with a short video of him smelling an area with another dog. I was a bit concerned they took him out with another dog but thankfully, he was fine in video and when I picked him up. I am definitely a helicopter mom and worry but I would have hoped my wishes were honored, of him being alone. I was able to enjoy by time zip lining while my boy was watched. I did not find it dirty, I felt for a huge kennel, it was fine for me. Kennels are going to smell and get dirty & maybe there could be more staff but I would recommend them. The only suggestion, if you are adamant about something-get their commitment they can deliver. Again, Stan was fine and it is my own issues to some degree but had something happened, we know the review would have been different.

Then we adopted a cat from them, their cat room is amazing. So nice to get out there and be able to actively interact with multiple cats and meet one that fits you. We now have adopted another dog from them. It is great that they keep getting animals from other shelters and adopting them out. Our new dog had some stomach issues, but everything was clearly disclosed on the records and they send you home with everything you could need. The free vet check is a really nice plus. We look forward to joining the classes for our new dog once she is fully healthy and cleared to go. We enjoy supporting them through donations as well because they do such a great job.

Home Away From Home…read more.... Love Dogs Camp has made a big difference with our dog, Pugsley, since we moved to the area 6 years ago. He was rescued from the streets of San Jose at the age of 1. Before moving to Nipomo, we researched and visited many places offering daycare and boarding, but Carolyn at Love Dogs Camp gave us the most confidence. It offers Pugsley a great environment with no kennels, freedom to roam on 5 acres and the ability to socialize with both big and small dogs. Carolyn has a wonderful trainer - Brett - who's very knowledgeable about dog behavior and nutrition and helped Pugsley become less fearful of other dogs. Supervision is a priority and he is never left alone. Carolyn does a great job vetting new dogs and their owners to ensure compatibility with her existing clientele. She also provides healthy home cooked meals for the dogs at least once a day. Whether it's for just a day or a couple of weeks for vacation, we have no concern bringing Pugsley to Love Dogs Camp. It's his home away from home.

Joanne and Michelle have taken care of our two cats multiple times over the past few months, and most recently Michelle noticed our elder cat with diabetes was not acting herself. She immediately informed us when her condition worsened, and after calling the vet to schedule a visit, and with practically zero prior notice, Joanne came and took our cat in. The quick response from Michelle and Joanne no doubt saved our cat's life, as she was starting to undergo diabetic ketoacidosis and needed to be transferred to the ER. Throughout the entire ordeal, they checked in with us as we rushed to come home early. They treated our cat as if she was a member of their family, and I'll always be indebted to their incredible compassion and care. With every visit, Michelle and Joanne always give us a quick rundown of how the visit went, and spend considerable effort to make sure both cats are fed and taken care of properly. After having experienced several less attentive sitters, the team at Posh Pet Sitting are simply among the best when it comes to caring for your pets while you're away.
