My dog is now traumatized as they had trimmed her nails way too short . For some ahole to do this to my dog is incredible. The next time take your fucking time to do it and do it right instead of hacking my dog's nails off. Wtf! Pathetic. Our animals can't speak for themselves when they get abused like this so please do better and not hurt the animals that are coming into your care. Truly pathetic. read more

You can see the love Dawna puts into her furry loves, the professionalism she has in her business, and the know of what she does in all grooming services. Love love this place. The ladies are so sweet and always do a great job on my Lulu (she's a 6yr old pug)

We've used Dawna's for many, many years with several of our pets, and we never got tired of seeing our babies emerge professionally cleaned and groomed after a day at this wonderful, loving, doggie spa! read more

Nice on the phone called me back the next day, after I had left a message. But then I had to wait three weeks for an appointment. When I made the appt I told them I wanted a hair cut for my border collie. They immediately said they don't give cuts to border collies. CORRECT ANSWER! But I clarified and said I needed a trim of the paws, potty area and front leg feathers. I got a quote and waited my three weeks. My appointment day comes. I take my dog in and they said I was only booked for a bath/brush out and they didn't have me down for grooming nor did they have time and it would be $75 (that's only if my dog was good). A bath for $75?!!! I walked away. I can bathe my dog for free! My reason for the visit was for the minor trimming. I found somewhere else for service two days later but what a waste of my time waiting those three weeks!! read more

My 6 month old Goldendoodle London just had her first trim at Dawna's! We called and the next available appointment wasn't for another few weeks. They offered to let us bring her in at least for an eye trim while we waiting for the appointment. We brought London in and they were so kind! They were gentle with her and even did some sanitary trimming (without us asking) just because they noticed it needed trimming. To top it all off- they gave her a pretty bow! So happy we found this groomer and relieved we found one we could trust with our pup! read more

Our Gracie has been going once a month to Dawna's for 16 years now. Our Gracie is now blind and deaf on her last few months or so, she still gets bathed and her hair and nails cut. Everyone there are so nice and careful with her. Our new little puppy Ruby is old enough after her last baby shot to get her nails and a teddy bear hair cut in October. We know she will get the same loving care as our Gracie, so we can relax knowing she is in good loving hands. read more

Dawna's Pet Parlor did such a good job with our pup! He came back to us looking so handsome and fluffy. And his fur is the softest it has ever been. They got this big boy done in about two hours. I am super impressed and this is definitely the best groomer we have been to. You can tell that they love their dogs. Thanks guys! read more

You know when you find "your" hairstylist, you just never want to let them go? The same goes for "your" groomer too. And that is exactly how I feel about Dawna's Pet Parlor. My morkie is barely 6-months & her 1st grooming was terrible. She was so uneven & choppy-like a five year old cutting their own hair. It was horrible. Cali needed to be evened out, but there was no way I was taking her back to the original groomer. Sarah made me feel at ease right away & let me know exactly what would be done. And when it was time to pick her up, she looked great! Cali was all evened out, her nails were trimmed & you could tell she had a little more pep in her step. I love the fact that they take care of their ears the way they do as well. My former groomer NEVER did that. It really is the little things & the attention to detail that sets them apart. The adorable collar & little hair bow she came out with didn't hurt either. read more

We are so pleased with Our Labradoodle's first haircut and experience at Dawna's Parlor. She seems to have had such a fun time and made friends with the people and other dogs there. My pug hates getting her nails cut and has been rejected by Petsmart because she wouldn't 'let' them. Dawna's truly loves animals and it shows. Yesterday the young man held her on his lap while another lady cut her nails. He even sweet talked my girl and kissed her on the head. My rescue guy, Rocky, had his first-ever grooming appointment at Dawna's. I was as nervous as a mom dropping off her kindergartener on the first day of school! But Sarah came out and reassured both of us that they'd take it slow and gently. Lo and behold, 2 hours later I got a call that he was ready and did great! After trying two different groomers (multiple times) in SLO we were desperate for a place that seemed to care about our pet's wellbeing during services AND provide a good cut. The first time I talked with Dawna I knew her place was different. They truly care that the animals have a positive experience with them. Our goldendoodle has a lot of hair and a lot of energy, and this is the first time in two years he's come home from a groomer acting happy and upbeat. We will never go anywhere else!! read more

DAWNA IS THE BEEEEEESSST My kitty (as much as I love her) is a BRAT and doesn't let me trim her nails like she used to let me when she was a kitten. I used to get her nails trimmed at the vet, but I always thought it was a little pricey... My brother recommended this place to me and the first time I went and I thought it was so much fun! They play fun music, its a colorful spot with a convenient parking lot (yay my cat gets major car/carrier anxiety). Dawna is a sweetheart and all the people there are also really nice and down to earth. When they took my cat from me (Felicia) I was a little nervous because typically my cat can be skittish. I was really surprised to see how relaxed she was! They started complimenting my cat on how pretty she is and even starting taking pictures of her (lol). My cat looked like she LOVED it. She was getting her nails trimmed, while her tail was being brushed and another woman having a full on photoshoot with her. They remember her every time I bring her in. On the ride home my cat didn't even make a peep, I could tell she was super relaxed. One time I even forgot to bring cash (at the time I think they were only taking cash for nail trims but this may have changed?) and the ladies there let me go grab some cash while they were working on my cat which I thought was really nice of them. They were totally cool and had no problems with me leaving and coming back while they finished the job. The prices are also extremely reasonable! I love taking my cat here, and I know she loves it to : ) Thank you to Dawna and your amazing team!! read more

Very poor communication. First of all, they are very hard to reach. But when someone finally called me back so that I could make an appointment for my dog to be groomed, no one informed me that he needed to have a bordatella shot first so upon arriving for his first appointment I was turned away. As soon as I took care of that they made another appointment. When I arrived for the second appointment I was informed that they weren't doing haircuts on new clients and would never do a haircut on my breed of dog. (I find that to be odd since he has had haircuts all of his life). Again, I was turned away. The girl I spoke to told me she always tells everybody that they don't do haircuts on new clients but she did not tell me that...just like nobody told me about the bordatella. My poor dog is 13 years old and gets carsick. So he was subjected to 2 unnecessary car rides during which he threw up twice both times. Very unhappy. read more

I was on time to my scheduled appointment to have my two chihuahuas bathed. I told the ladies that I would wait til they were done but they told me I would have to return in three hours to pick them up. I left. I was quite upset that I had scheduled an appointment for just a bath, no additional services, and was put in line after all the other appointments they evidently had scheduled at the same time. Why use a scheduling system if it won't be adhered to? I felt like I had walked in off the street expecting to be attended to. Not happy with the manner they used to explain it either. read more

So, I've tried outsmart and Cjs pet emporium to so my dogs nails. Both places returned her back to me unfinished. She is a little aggressive when it comes to nail trims and both places gave up. I had little hope for this place, but when she was so co fident over the phone i thought it was worth trying. Im glad I did and im glad I found a place that will allow me to be with my dog as she gets her nails trimmed and and will do ish the job! I need to put my two cents worth in here. Dawn and her staff are AMAZING, honest, knowledgeable and love their jobs. PLEASE DO NOT pay any attention to the negative reviews written here (some people simply can not be pleased). I've been taking my little teacup longhair chihuahua Ozzie to Dawn since the day he rescued me and she treats him with all the love and care that I do, I never have any qualms about leaving him in her very capable hands. If she doesn't do what she says she will do it is because of unforeseen complications. Between you and I it is usually because she has such a big heart she will try to help as many of our fur buddies as she can with not enough hours in a day. This does not make her irresponsible it makes her more loving than any groomer you will EVER find. read more

Really a super place and a super find for the area. Dawna's was recommended by a friend who's been a loyal customer for years. I have no fears when I leave our 30 lb mix for a spa day. She's always returned in good spirits and full of love and cookies. The staff is friendly and fast too especially with our short hair who gets a discount because she's not as involved as some of the longer hairs. I've recommended Dawna's Pet Parlor to several friends and they all love the attention they get and keep coming back too. Our vet has also told us how much he appreciates the work of the staff over at Dawna's. read more
