Yesterday I took my cat obsessed teenage daughter to The Caffeinated Cat Cafe in Grover Beach, and it honestly could not have been a better experience. The location is super cute, warm, and inviting from the moment you walk in. This was our first ever visit, and their website did a great job clearly explaining how everything works. We made a reservation, paid $16 each for a 50 minute visit, and it was absolutely worth it. Kayla, who was working the front desk, was friendly, helpful, and welcoming, which made the experience even better. We started in the kitten room, and the time flew by so fast that we never even made it to the adult cat area. The kittens were incredibly playful, social, and engaged, and it was very clear they are being well cared for. If you love cats, enjoy good and inexpensive coffee drinks, and want to support a local business with a great mission, I highly recommend checking this place out. This establishment was so embarrassing to walk into. They were very short with me and the coffee was mediocre. They additionally didn't provide very good service as someone would be taking minutes on end in order to reach a customer in the waiting area. It is also highly embarrassing that they expect customers to PAY to pet cats which is wildly ridiculous. They turned my two year old away after him having been there three times already and they said "no children under 4" even though it's be his fourth visit. The inconsistency is ridiculous and it sucks to hype up your child for the cats and then be turned away. In response to the owner commenting: my child had gone in at 6 months, 9 months and 1.5 years. There was no attempt at being dishonest about his age and there was no mention or signage at the times of visiting. You could just apologize for the inconvenience and the misunderstanding and be more consistent with your rules in the future so situations like this don't occur. read more

Such a cute spot to just sit and relax with kitties! It can be quiet but can also be a little rowdy depending on the moods of the cats or activities you choose to do. There are plenty of events happening throughout each month to do with the cats as a single, couple or group! Highly recommend visiting and supporting their advocacy in helping to get these cats adopted asap! The staff are very knowledgeable and helpful with all the questions you may have. Plenty of drinks and snacks to choose from to enjoy before going in the cat room or in the cat room. SHOES OFF when stepping into the cat room btw. They have socks available to use if that makes it more comfortable for you as well. I was so excited to hear that the Central Coast/SLO County finally has an amazing spot like The Caffeinated Cat Cafe! This adorable place offers delicious coffee, a variety of drinks, and snacks, while giving you the chance to spend time with adorable, adoptable cats. What a fun experience! However, if you are looking to adopted a cat, do not simply ask "are your cats available for adoption?" Like I did. Because then you and your daughter fall in love with a cat and then make an inquiring to adopt one, you are told there is a two cat minimum. Fun session playing with sweet kitty cats! Sign up online to reserve your spot--they only let up to 8 people in at a time so the cats don't get overwhelmed. They do have regular coffee and snacks and a few pastries, but I wouldn't count on eating breakfast there. You're really there to play with the kitties! And you can adopt them too! We had a great morning at the caffeinated cat Café. The people working there were very sweet and kind and super helpful. We made a reservation ahead of time and we were the only ones there. The facility was exceptionally clean. Three out of four of us had cat allergies and it was so clean that none of our allergies kicked in. The facility has two rooms. One room for adult cats and one room for kittens. It was fun being in each of the rooms for different reasons. They had a senior old man cat that was so sweet and then they had brand new kittens as well. You can't pick up the adult cats, but you can pick up the kittens. You can pet the old cats and they can sit in your lap if they come to you. We went at 10 AM and it was perfect. The cats were awake and playful. We read online that if you go later in the afternoon sometimes the cats are all asleep. We ordered a couple of coffees and those were also really good. This place gets 5 stars just for the idea. (Cats and Coffee). We walked in to a nicely decorated coffee shop to check this new place out. We were greeted by a very friendly person behind the desk. All the reservations were taken up so make sure to reserve your spot online. You can walk-in if all reservations are not filled. You can come in and pay for a coffee and drink coffee if there is a seat available in the lobby. Watching through the glass is free with purchase. The coffee drinking/viewing area only has a couple tables and is quite small but it works. In order to socialize with the cats in the cat room you will pay an admission fee. The fee is to help with the cost of the care for the cats. There were about 6 cats there at the time. All cats are adoptable so they had just lost a few due to adoptions. Spend a Purr-fect day in Grover Beach at this cat cafe! The employees were so friendly and truly cared about the cats they are fostering. There are two rooms of cats. One with kittens and one with older cats. All were so sweet and loved the attention. The cat rooms are beautifully decorated and well cleaned. Our hour flew by but we will definitely return on our next vacation. The gift shop is stocked with boutique items. There is a generous selection of beverages for purchase, including kids' juice and milk. Admission is very reasonable compared to other cat cafes. We can't wait to visit again! read more

We were on a road trip driving through Pismo Beach and happened to spot the Caffeinated Cat Cafe- deciding to stop in on a whim. It ended up being one of the highlights of our trip. The owner who checked us in was kind, fun, and welcoming right from the start. The space is thoughtfully set up, with one side for older cats and another for younger ones, and we loved getting to spend time in both areas during our hour visit. The cats are clearly well cared for, relaxed, and loved. There are tons of toys, climbing structures, and enrichment, plus a little Rolodex-style menu with info about each cat's personality, which was such a sweet touch. We were really missing our own animals while traveling, and being able to unwind and love on these sweet rescue kitties was exactly what we didn't know we needed. It's also wonderful to see that all of the cats are up for adoption, making this not just a fun stop, but a meaningful one too. My only suggestion would be to have a larger selection of drinks or snacks for visitors to purchase- but that truly is a tiny detail. I have mixed reviews on this place pertaining to bringing young kids. I'll start with the positives. Lots of parking! That was a pleasant surprise and so important for businesses. Second, it was extremely clean like sparkling clean. I was surprised how clean it even smelt with having cats in there 24/7. Lots of cute cat items to buy and the food and drinks looked super yummy. With that being said I reserved a spot for my 2 year old, 4 year old and myself. For 30 minutes it was $39. I understand businesses need to make money but most places wouldn't charge for a 2 year old. There were only 4 cats and only one came out briefly 5 minutes max. You can't pick up the cats and you're told to just let them come to you. We tried to be respectful of that rule but I honestly just felt like I paid $40 to sit in there and tell my kids not to go up to the cats. There was a worker sitting in the room the whole time and I felt like it would have been nice if she would have tried to get the cats to come down and interact, told us their names, or even what toys they might like. The only thing she told us was to give the cats some space. We found some coloring books, which I had to ask if those were for customers. Again we only had 30 minutes so I felt like with kids that should have been something we were told when entering. We got to go with the owner to see the cats in the other building. That was very nice and she told us we could pet them which they did so we ended on a good note. I might come again with just my 4 year old and give it another chance. There are limited times for young kids and I'm guessing we came at a sleepy time but I was just hoping to have a little more interaction with the cats, especially with these cats being up for adoption. read more

This was a great new experience to do with my two kids (ages 10 and 7) and felt so great giving some kitties some extra love for a good cause, while seeing all the different personalities of the cats. It really was a great learning experience with teaching young children to be patient and calm to gain an animal's trust. There is an adorable gift section and quick drinks to grab before heading in. People should remember that these are cats and foster cats to be specific. Don't expect them to be super cuddly and frisky on cue to entertain you and they due take a few minutes to warm up. Overall odd experience. I walked in and mentioned I was waiting for my husband. They informed me it would be $13 for 30 minutes and $16 for 50 minutes. It was our first time at this establishment so I asked more information and they explained that it is to pay for rent and cat supplies. That was fine with me, so when my husband came in they asked us if we would be paying together to which I said "is it per person?" as that was not explained when I asked for more information. After paying $26 just to look at the kittens, they told us we needed to wait to because it was to busy. We had just payed to see that cats and kittens, then were not allowed to use our paid minutes to see what we had drove 30 minutes to see. Odd? They then asked us to take off our shoes. Again, I didn't care so much until we walked in and the floor was extremely dirty. I am not sure why we would be asked to take our shoes off if the reason wasn't to keep the area sanitary. While we waited to play with the kittens we met some of the adult cats. Most were timid and scared. When we got to play with the kittens we fell in love with an orange cat that we had driven to specifically meet. After asking about adopting they let us know it was $175 for the two orange kittens and we could not adopt just one as they are brothers. Had an enjoyable experience viewing the cats. Was frustrated that I could not pick up or really touch a cat unless it was beside me or I went to pet it. The visits are well organized and overseen by an attendant in the room. One troubling aspect was that one of the cats that was up for adoption was coughing the whole time I was there. I felt so bad for the cat and asked the owner and she said the cat had been seen by a vet and was on the road to recovery. However, it coughed and seemed sick. I decided to visit have some coffee and check out the cute kitties. I walked inside and headed over to a comfy chair to sit down and enjoy my coffee. Withen 30 seconds a beautiful little girl kitties came over to me and started rubbing up against my calf. Then she proceeded to jump in my chair go aroundy back and then settle herself at home in my lap. I adopted her the next day. After one month she now the queen of the manor. Loved our experience here! The self service coffee and beverage bar had a great selection, as did the snacks and pastries. We enjoyed hanging out with the cats and getting some play time with the many wands and toys available. The room was extremely clean and had air purifiers. I like that they limit the number of people so everyone has space and to not overwhelm the cats. There is also an area for the cats to escape to when they were done socializing which I appreciated as well. You can tell this cafe is run with all the right intentions to the cats and cat lovers.
