My daughter wanted to check this place out so our family of 4 (3 year old, and 9 year old) decided to check it out. We weren't really greeted but asked if we had a reservation. Reservations are made online, walk-ins may or may not have availability depending on how many spots they have open for that time and the size of your party. We had to fill out a waiver before checking in. We were the first group of the day, since we arrived before opening. We were asked to sanitize our hands before heading into the cat room. Then we were told to stay behind the line and remove our shoes. The room definitely smelled like cat litter but we didn't see any litter boxes. We had a bit of alone time maybe 10 mins before the next group arrived. There were a few older cats but mostly kittens. All kittens were pretty playful. The older cats preferred either to be petted or left alone. Right after the second group walked in we were asked to keep it down or we could be asked to leave. I didn't think we were being loud and she could have asked us to keep it down without "threatening" to kick us out. We have three cats at home and our kids were quite respectful with the kitties. Anyhow, we did our best to keep it down and enjoy the remainder of our 30 min visit. ($15pp for 30 min during the week). When our time was up, the employee said it was time to go and waited for us to put our shoes on and escorted us out. As you enter/exit the building they have a little cashless cat store with cat related memorabilia. My daughters really enjoyed the experience. We weren't looking to adopt but enjoyed the company of the cats. I would consider returning IF I was going to adopt a cat but not likely for a long time. Also, I just didn't really care for the employee. Go check out the coffee shop next door- Jitters. They have an awesome breakfast burrito. You can't take food or drinks in but you can enjoy before or after your experience. Worth a stop if you like cats but can't have any or you're looking to adopt one. I suppose it could be good therapy too. read more

We came here for a birthday celebration and had so much fun! Unfortunately we are not in a position to adopt a cat but this was an awesome way to get some cuddles and play in anyway! The lounge area is so cute and there are plenty of toys to play with the cats. The person working there was so kind and came over and told us a little background on some of the older cats and answered all of our questions. You can tell they really make sure the cats are respected and give them plenty of high options to get away from some of the excited younger guests. The gift shop was really cute and full of unique items and I'll definitely be back to do some Christmas shopping for my cat loving friends! Cats & Crystals is such a special place. This is where we met our sweet Silver, who was fostered through Fairy Tail Rescue and staying at this cat café. The space is incredibly clean, calm, and thoughtfully set up, you can tell how much they truly care about the cats. The staff made us feel so welcomed and comfortable from the moment we walked in. They were kind, patient, and happy to answer all our questions. The café itself is beautifully decorated and full of charm, and they also sell the cutest cat items and goodies. I went here on a date with my boyfriend. We booked the 1:20 pm time slot for a 30 min interaction, it was so cute and so fun. Parking: There is on-site parking but space might be limited depending on when you go. There is street parking very close-by. Before you enter the space they have an awesome crystal and merchandise shop where I bought some toy mouses to bring home for my cat. Also make sure to not be over 10 minutes late, otherwise you may lose your reservation spot. The staff was super kind and one of them even introduced me to a couple of the kittens in the room . You can bring in beverages from the coffee shop next door or your own personal one, there's a little table in the corner where you can leave it while playing with the cats. I was here over the holidays and spending some time in Oceanside and the weather was not cooperating as there was an atmospheric river dumping rain in the area, so I found some indoor activities to keep me busy and so glad I came to this cat adoption place! It was a pretty last minute idea and I drove here at arrived at 10:05am but the lady still squeezed me in for the half hour slot, which I thought was nice of her. For 30 min and $15, you get the pleasure of playing with many many cats and kittens. I love most animals and my favorites are doggies and kittes so this was just such a nice holiday treat to play with, pet and cuddle some of these beautiful furry creatures. The parking lot is tight but easy to get a spot on the street if you need. Location is in Oceanside near the beach so pretty good location. Overall, I loved this place and wanted to take all the kittens home! I will definitely be back and who knows? Next time, I might be going home with a feline friend! read more

Don't get me wrong. I love cats, but was under the impression that it was a cat cafe. Cafe, meaning they may serve drinks/refreshments or snacks. It was also labeled on heavily as a 'cat cafe' and occasionally a cat lounge. Maybe we have the wrong definition of what a 'cafe' is. All the other cat cafes I've been to served refreshments with the visit. 50 minutes of just petting cats for that price is a little odd. I would call it a cat lounge. It also seems like there's a big group of people that enter the lounge at once. In the future, I would stagger appointments because it doesn't seem fair that the first person in line gets the full 50 minutes while the last person in line gets 45 minutes. Or, it doesn't need to be 50 minutes, maybe have an option to do 30 minute visits. Another thing they were dishonest about was that it mentioned on their website that I would get an exclusive sticker. "exclusive admission sticker" I did not get one and there was no mention of one. I would have been okay with that instead of a refreshment. The cats they had in the lounge were all kittens and oldest was 2 years old. That is very cute and should be easily adopted. I hope they give senior cats more of a chance. They deserve a better chance too. You take off shoes in the lounge. Employees were nice. Was wondering what cat food they ate, but the employee didn't know. Blue collars are male and other colors and prints are female. Wish they gave that information ahead of time or introduced the cats more. This is no different than going to local pet store and petting cats for free. Except this one you have to pay because the decor is nicer. Ambiance is great. There's a high place and cat door for cats to retreat to if they get overstimulated. One cat can open the door and one has asthma. They were all playful. Many kids and families visiting too. Great place for kids! Would I come here again? Probably not. The space is a little small. There are many cat cafes around the area with better options, but I do commend this cat lounge/habitat/sanctuary since they are just starting out. read more

It has been nearly a week since we adopted our lucky cats: our ginger fairy polydactyl, Ladybug, and our Russian Blue tsarina, / Kisunya, and we still feel enchanted by our entire experience with Cats & Crystals / Fairy Tail Rescue - we are completely under their spell. Everyone involved was kind and caring. When we picked up our cats it felt ceremonious. We were given cat treats and a gift bag that included adorable collars, pertinent cat care information printed, and drawings children had done of Kisunya, formerly Piano. That was a lovely, thoughtful touch. The fur babies are adjusting well and playing with one another. My son says his face hurts from smiling so much. My daughter's smile muscles are more developed, but she is head over heels in love, too. Our elderly chihuahua passed two years ago, and having little beasties grace our home again is a blessing. And the first 5 minutes were of her talking about the rules. When our time was up, she was even short when I purchased some items. Don't walk, run to this magical cat space. ‍ It was like being in a cat fairy garden. In the entry, they have amazing crystals, jewelry, stickers, etc. Definitely passes the vibe check. The rules are short and sweet (I have been to other cat cafes that have entirely too many rules) and the fact that you have to take your shoes off makes it even more comfy cozy. We did a 70 minute visit so we were able to chat with one of the owners while he fed the cats and chat for a bit. What a kind human being. Most of my visit was sitting, comfortably, on a couch with 3 cats cuddled up sleeping on or next to me. My 12 year old played with the cats that were awake. I visited for the grand opening, which featured numerous vendors and crafts. However, it was a bit disappointing because, despite advertising a first-come, first-served policy, they didn't update guests when they reached full capacity. After traveling from San Diego and arriving in the afternoon, I found out they had no availability. I finally made it back and had a great experience. Admission is $20 for 50 minutes on weekdays and $25 per person on weekends. They had eight or nine cats available for adoption, and I absolutely love the adoption center they partner with--I even adopted my cat from there! All the cats come microchipped and vaccinated. The interior is beautifully designed, and each booking allows up to eight people. The staff are incredibly friendly, and one of the employees even stopped by to visit with us. The cats were all very playful and affectionate, making for a wonderful experience that supports a great cause. I highly recommend checking them out! read more

I originally encountered cats and crystals before they even had a storefront and were just selling jewelry trying to open this place up so I was excited to see that they finally got to open up. The cat room itself is so adorable the decorations are absolutely amazing and the puzzles, cards, and books spread around the place are such a fun time. My friend and I booked the 30 minute slot towards the middle of the day so all of the cats were sleepy which was understandable it was so fun just to see them all snuggled up. The 30 minute flew by quickly and we were sad to go but it was a fun time. My only qualm with this place and other cat cafes that I have been to, is when children are present they tend to harass the cats and consistently get in the cats face and annoy them and their parents don't do anything. This happened for the entire 30 minutes we were in the room and although a staff member came in several times, (including to try to socialize 2 more cats who were adorable) they didn't say anything.
