Absolutely not a good place, not in customer service, not in product. I was given an extremely long and painful back and fourth concerning formatting for my print job, where the customer service worker would NOT change his wording, and would not make sense in even the slightest. At one point after me insisting the files were correct, he had noticed he wasn't even looking at the RIGHT FILES. He would NOT listen to my responses, and constantly kept pushing for me to pay extra for their in house design services. I got a very big feeling he was sticking to some sales script, and honestly I hate companies that handle their customers like that. I don't expect a business to be my best friend, but It's incredibly off putting to be handled like this. After the prints came in, the print quality was ass garbage. I guess this is what I deserve for trying to save a few bucks and try out a new place? The image is FAR darker, and OFF COLOR to what I had sent in, and yes I accounted for the issue of printing darkening the overall image as a default. Like man I don't wanna be a dick and go bark loudly about companies, I rarely kick and scream about something but I wanna put this out here cause I would not want someone else having to go through the migraines I did with this place. Fireball printing or heck, even Vista print will treat you LEAGUES better, and provide a great product. They're worth the extra bucks. If it was just a rude worker, just someone treating me like a four year old and talking at me like im stupid, honestly I could handle it. The personalized invitations I ordered were beautiful, fit into the envelopes easily. After I addressed all invitations and went to put the RSVPs in their corresponding envelopes I found a problem. It takes forever to put those cards into the envelopes. The small RSVP cards do not fit into their envelopes well and bend the envelope along with card. read more

Catprint's draw is the fact that they provide short-run digital printing services. Supposedly, this comes with great customer service and an easy-to-use system to back up their quality products. I decided to use Catprint to order my custom wedding invitations, including the RSVP Cards, ceremony and reception info card inserts, RSVP and regular mailing envelopes, and the invitations themselves. There were numerous aspects of my experience that led to this review, so for ease of readership, I will break it down by category. Settle in, folks. This one is going to take a while... 1) When I ordered their Wedding Paper "sample packet", it took about two weeks to arrive. I had no communication with Catprint explaining why things were taking so long. I happened to be extremely busy with work during this time period, so I just kind of decided to grit my teeth and bear it, regarding the very long wait. I was ahead of schedule for ordering the invitations, anyway, so whatever... 2) Fast-forward two weeks: I have received the paper samples. I look them over. The paper seems to be of decent quality, although I know immediately that I will not be able to use Catprint for the whole order. Specifically, the envelopes which will enclose the entire invitation package. All of their options were either see-through or "shimmer," which is more like "glitter." Yes, you read that right. GLITTER. Because apparently Catprint is under the impression that my wedding is as classy of an affair as a tween's birthday party. But, nevertheless, the RSVP envelope options look alright, so I pick one of those, along with a paper type for the cardstock itself. My graphic designer takes care of her end of the transaction (uploading the digital files to their website, etc.), we place the order, and then I end up going and ordering some beautiful envelopes from my beloved, never-fail Envelopes.com. 3) I get charged the full price for my Catprint order. Since I requested a hard-copy proof of my invitation package, I now eagerly await seeing my invitation suite! 4) I receive my order from Envelopes.com. I do not receive my proof from Catprint. As a note, when I placed the order, I got a confirmation email with an arrival date of 3 - 5 business days, with an outside estimate of 7 business days. 5) At 8 business days, still with no tracking number or communication from Catprint, I call the company up to see if I can sort out where my proofs are and when they will arrive. I proceed to speak with the single most obnoxious, condescending waste of oxygen I have EVER encountered. She snidely informed me that, actually, it hasn't been 8 business days yet. Or even 7 business days! She says it has been "only five or six days," and then proceeds to--and I literally could not even make this up--tell me that I DO NOT KNOW HOW TO COUNT TO SEVEN. 6) Deep breathing exercises. 7) I now calmly explain to the young woman that, actually, since I placed the order on X date, and it is now Y date, it has, in fact, been 8 business days. We go back and forth on this, getting nowhere, until I LITERALLY have to count out loud the days that have passed between placing the order and the day on which I was calling. She responds with baffled silence, and then curtly informs me that I will need to call back tomorrow or the next day. And then hangs up. 8) I wait two days. I still have not received the proofs. I am now approaching the deadline for when I really, truly need to place the order for the invitations. I call Catprint back. I speak with a (thankfully) much more competent customer service representative. She apologizes profusely, and offers to upgrade me to guaranteed 5-day delivery, instead of the previous guaranteed 7-day delivery. I explain my situation to her, and have her upgrade me to free overnight shipping instead. She agrees, confirms that there are no additional charges, and promises that I will see my proofs on the very next day. 9) The very next day: I receive the proofs, and also an inexplicable charge for $2.49 on my credit card. 10) I call Catprint back. Again. I inquire as to the mystery charge, and am told that they have no idea how it got there! I speak with two different representatives, neither of whom have any clue as to how or why I was charged the extra $2.49. I request a refund. I am given a refund. 11) I approve the proofs. Now just to wait for the full order to arrive... 12) The next day (thank you overnight shipping!) I receive my order. It looks good. The paper is of decent quality, comparable to that of the proofs. But not comparable to what I was expecting, having previously ordered from their main competitor, Moo. 13) I review Catprint on Yelp. I sit, simply astounded at how much I had to write to explain all the ridiculous machinations I had to go through to complete this order. I shake my head, give them one star, and vow to never use them again. Essentially, Catprint offers an adorable name and not much else. read more

Cat Print is the cat's meow! I can't say enough great things about Cat Print. It's hard to find a business where everything is consistent time and time again: the service, the response rate or the quality of work. I've printed a few things with CP, the first time being for my boyfriend's brother's wedding. I felt a lot of pressure to do well and deliver an amazing program for them and Cat Print executed it beautifully. I was in a bind and needed it rushed but also wanted specialty paper and they were patient, kind and understanding even in my craziest of craziest moods. My first multiple-piece project that I printed with them was a wedding suite of STDs, invites, response cards and programs. Previously working at a small print shop in DTLA, I know that there may be issues with colors matching exactly depending on when the run, heck, even who ran the job. But I consistently received great, great work from them. Their quality control is spot-on, I haven't received any bad prints and when there are some imperfections, they always compensated by including a few extra pieces in my package. The shipping is right on time, every time. What prompted me to write this review is that I just received Christmas cards I designed in the mail yesterday. I was worried that with the scoring of the paper, there would be cracking in the paper. I was so impressed by the crisp, clean lines of each card (and yes, I did inspect each card) that I HAD to write about my experiences. I had been previously using my old employer to print small digital runs but have fully committed to Cat Print from here on out. Their prices are EXTREMELY reasonable and I love their free quoting on their website. It really helps with budgeting projects and giving clients as much information as I can without bombarding their staff with questions (though, if I needed to, they are all approachable and nice). They have awesome specials (I totally took advantage of their Cyber Week sale) and look forward to more projects. Another awesome thing I'd like to add is that upon request, they sent me a sample book of all their house stocks and what they'd look like with prints from their press. I first used Cat Print for my wedding invitations and inserts. I had such a great experience that I used them again to print thank you cards and menu cards. I absolutely love the service. The ability to choose custom size and quantity is wonderful, and I have not seen comparable service offered anywhere (especially at their great price). The will send a paper sample booklet upon request, and they have tons of options of varying weight, color, and texture. It was all high quality. Their hard copy proof option is also spectacular. I am so happy I have the ability to see and hold the actual product before printing the whole job. I was able to get a sample in the mail of the different paper types which was really helpful. I also ordered an expedite proof that arrived really quickly and turned out to be a life saver. My first and most likely last experience with CatPrint was not a good one. First of all, I ordered their sample pack, then found a few options amongst it that I liked. But this turned out to be completely useless, as I then discovered that I could not use any of the papers from the sample pack, as they were restricted to a certain size (18 x 12 I think), and I needed a print that was larger. They only ended up having three different options for a larger size, non of which had been included in the sample pack, so I ended up having to guess. So I did, and when the print arrived, I was majorly disappointed. The colors looked both washed out and much darker than the original. The print looks awful, probably the same quality as I would get had I printed it out myself on my regular old printer at home. I cannot recommend them for printing out photos, or art. They are probably only suitable for things such as invitations or business cards. read more

WOW. I am getting married this June, and my fiancé and I designed our own Save the Dates and Invitations. We searched all over the place for a quality, affordable printer with enough options that we were able to personalize our order, and we were so lucky to find CatPrint. After using them for our Save the Dates, it was no question that we were going to use them again for our Invites. Not only do they have infinite options (I'm not exaggerating, because there is a custom print size option), but they handle everything! They can do folding and cuts, two-sided and full bleeds, and can even include envelopes to fit your order. Their prices are great and they even offer the option to send a hard copy proof so you can see your work before you commit to printing 120 of them! But best of all is their customer service. Our invitations required a bit of tweaking on the spacing after I saw the hard copy proof, and I was able to be in communication with a kind, efficient, and extremely helpful representative (Nicole!) who took my email attachment updates, applied them to the order, sent me a picture of the new proofs (to save time), and has them ready to ship out today. Dealing with very picky people is not an easy task. Dealing with extremely detail oriented brides trying to get their wedding invitations printed is a Herculean, virtually impossible feat. But Catprint managed to pull it off for me, and I am eternally grateful. I was searching for a printer that could do a gold foil design that I had custom made by a graphic designer friend on high quality paper. Not only did Nicole (and then later Eileen) patiently go step by step through the process with me, they dealt with the numerous changes -- paper quality upgrade! font change! design redo! -- that I threw at them. I also compared prices with leading online wedding invitation retailers, seeing what I would have paid if I got a pre-set design with gold foil. I was recommended to use Cat Print by an etsy designer i used for my baby shower invitations. I ordered proofs of my invitations before making a large order and was not told that the resolution of my invite was low and would not be of the best quality when printed. I was only told when i called once i received the proofs that their was an issue with the resolution! After getting the right resolution sent to Catprint i noticed a price jump. I called to clarify the amount difference i was re-quoted and the gentleman who picked up was "unable to help me/clarify" why i was being charged extra and suggested that i wait for the young lady who was originally helping me. I figured it out myself and called back to inform them of the change but good luck trying to have one of them pick up the phone after 4:30pm! I was now pressed for time as their deliveries are EXPENSIVE AND SLOW!!!!! I paid for a 3 day delivery for a Thursday and didn't receive my delivery until Saturday afternoon! I paid $40.79 for the 3 day "express shipping" just to get them and have them ready to be mailed almost a week later. As a result of all of this back and forth with them, my invites were sent out late and i was super stressed out because of this! For this type of service, they should at least offer coupons/discounts and better customer and shipping service! i will not be using cat print again or recommending to anyone for that matter. read more

Amazing! I'm so satisfied with CatPrint's work that I signed up for Yelp just to leave this review! I used their website to order prints to sell at anime conventions and other similar events. I ordered my art on the 11" x 17" light card stock paper. The color was exactly as displayed on my computer, the paper is high quality, only one page of my 250+ print order had a small mark but it's not even a loss to me because each print I ordered came with 1-3 more than I had requested/paid for. I've tried using Catprint for a couple of years now for my digital art. My very first order came in with red streaks running up one side on 1/2 of my prints, the other 1/2 had a line of color missing on them in the same spot. I took pictures and sent it to them, in which they offered to fix it but I wouldn't have them in time for my show. With all the rave reviews, I thought I would try them again. I placed two more orders (all of which $70-$100) and when those came in, the majority of the prints looked fine, but for some reason they enlarged my art that I had already sized perfectly in photoshop, then cut it for no bleed edges. My signature was 1/2 way cut off, which I had left 1/4 inch all around because I know they have to print on a larger piece of paper, then cut. If it was completely cut off, I could just sign it but being 1/2 cut off looked terrible. I just let it go and ordered again (no discounts). Same thing. This final time that I ordered was the last (why I kept going, I don't know). I accidentally ordered the wrong paper size, but submitted the correct file size. No one on their end caught it, cramming an 8.5x11 image on a 5.5x8 sheet of paper, distorting everything. So I contacted them, explaining that both of us were at fault and they offered for me to place another order, and they would give 30% discount. Since I was also to blame, I went for it. A few days later I noticed my bank statement showed a higher amount than what my receipt said. They had cancelled the order for 5 images that I had placed and changed them to 6 images (pulling my business card file from a year ago for whatever reason) and charged it to my bank card without notifying me. I emailed them last Saturday asking for a refund because I did not order it, I did not send them that file, and they did not ask for permission to charge me more than what I approved. Website says 24 hours for email responses or to call for help. I let Monday pass. Tuesday morning still nothing so I called. The lady (Carol?) answered and said that Colleen was working on it and I would just get an email. Wow. That's terrible customer service. Tuesday evening still nothing so I sent another email that night. Now it's Wednesday afternoon and still nothing. I do not recommend them at all. I've given them the benefit of a doubt multiple times and have spent hundreds of dollars with them before I finally learned to just give up trying to support a company that doesn't care about their customers - or at least my business anyway. read more

A few years ago, I decided I was going to figure out how to design my own wedding invitations. I am not a graphic designer in the least, but had experience with Adobe Illustrator, and gave it a shot. The problem was, I needed somewhere to print them through. I ended up choosing Catprint, and the experience was amazing. Their online ordering system is a breeze and they have tons of tips and tricks on their website about how to format your files, which was incredibly helpful for someone with limited experience. The quality of the invitations was amazing, every interaction I had with their customer service was awesome, my friends and family raved about the invites, and the best part was that they ultimately cost me a fraction of what I would have paid to order a generic design through any other site. Since then, I have a had a few friends and family ask me to help them make their invites, and have always printed through Catprint. Their customer service continues to be amazing (s/o to Eileen, who is often the one I end up emailing with!). Most recently, I've been working on an invite that put me pretty far outside of my comfort zone utilizing lots of colors and gradients. I reached out to Catprint customer service via live chat today and spoke with Matt. I was hoping for some advice as to the best way to print these, and he was incredibly helpful and very kind, sharing multiple suggestions, offering to contact me if he notices any issues with my proof before sending it out, and providing me his email address to reach out once I get my proofs should I have any concerns. Cat Print provides great service AND great quality. Carol and Casey both answered 100 questions from me and took care of my order personally. My wedding invitations turned out just the way I wanted, no fuss, no muss. The card stock was shimmer white with matching shimmer white envelopes. They let you upload your own invitation image so that gives you more flexibility. I started my invitation on a Word document, put in images, gave the wording a pretty font and then converted it to a PDF. I used Cat Print to print the save the dates for my wedding. I designed a tri-fold design and requested a free proof. It arrived within days and everything looked great, so I had them go ahead and print the project. When I received the final product, I was dismayed to see that they were folded incorrectly. I notified Cat Print and they offered to re-print and re-fold all of my cards at no cost to me. They did this quickly and I am very happy with the final product. If I had been in a bigger rush, the error might have been a problem, but I had extra time built in. Overall, I was impressed with the customer service I received.
