So I gave the place a 3 mainly because they charged me a different price that was quoted to me and to others on the phone for a full set acrylic. It went from $26 full set to $45 because they put gel glitter on 2 nails only ... I was disappointed because I thought the guy was nice and tried his best. My nails aren't ugly but definitely not worth $45 for a basic look and the fact that she charged me than I noticed the price change ... of course I'm not one to argue but I thought I would come back cause the place is clean and that guy was nice but being sneaky is just childish and looks bad on your business . Not only did they greet me right away, i was also put in a chair with Angie and she really listened to wat i wanted, since i can be extremely picky. she did an amazing job with my shape and even gave me 2 free flowers since she liked the color i chose. I love this place! I'm very, very picky about my nails. After trying 4 other salons in the SFV area Cathys is the best. Very clean, friendly, and reasonable prices. I recommend to my friends and anyone reading this review. In response to other reviewers, Cathys recently changed staff, Tina is no longer there which is good since I didn't care for her much. Her replacement who's name I can't remember is much, much better. Angie is amazing. They are both friendly, and I enjoy chatting with them. They have never been pushy or rude. Horrible customer service and quality of nails. Paid over $40 for powder manicure. Lasted only ONE week after Cathy assured me it would last over three weeks. After a nail fell off, I went back to salon and Cathy told me she would repair it but that I shouldn't come back anymore! Business must be really good that she can turn away paying customers and disrespect them. Also, they DON'T use sanitary plastic wrap for pedicures. Feet go straight into the tub after prior use. This was my 3rd visit here I usually get a gel mani and pedi which they have reasonable price for but my natural nails broke really short before I had the time to get my nails done again so I tried them out for a full set. Angie insisted over and over again that I try dip powder when I initially just wanted a full set gel due to I'm skeptical about the dip powder being sanitary after multiple people dip their fingers in the powder! She insisted I obliged , while they do look nice it was pricey and the dip powder bonded to my skin so I have multiple holes around my cuticles it's painful and I'm upset I trusted her judgement. On top of that she kept on insisting that I "pay now" before she finished the top coat while she noticed I was in pain over the bonding of my skin smh I won't be coming back sucks oh and they only have two employees so be weary of being turnt away for a later time it's just best you go somewhere else if not there for gel manicure read more

So before coming here, I had gone to another Nail Salon. To make things clear, only reason why I went elsewhere before coming here, my mother wanted to test the other place out. Not to mention, customer service was good! They asked every now and then if everything was okay and complimented his work on me. Finally, one the ladies that work there does eyebrows, she noticed mine and I knew she wanted to make a sale, but the way she approach me made me feel comfortable and decided to take the risk. I would never ever recommend this place to anyone. While they are sweet people and do try to please you they have no nail skills what-so-ever. I came in for a quick gel mani-pedi. the owner, sweet as she was, screwed up my nails by putting a shellac polish that they had sitting around for over a year according to her. the polish warped my nails and looked terrible. She ended up taking it off at my insistence. What should have taken an hour took me two-hours. Though they are very convenient to my home, I seriously doubt that I will be going back. read more

My bloody stumps won't be coming back. Based solely on Yelp reviews, I made an appointment and went here for a pedi while I waited for my mechanic down the street. The pedi chairs have metal "massage" bars with almost no padding. Very uncomfortable. Bad start. Despite informing the owner that I get ingrown toe nails and need short, straight, blunt toenails, the guy that did my pedicure did the exact opposite of what is appropriate for ingrown toenails: he cut the nail sides and skin at a long, deep angle. It will take months to correct. Instead of using cuticle remover and a pusher, he CUT, CUT, CUT. So, he gave me bloody cuticles and bloody toes. I find it hard to believe this guy has a license (neither he nor the owner wold give me his name, so I don't know it). I brought my own Shellac. He clearly had never done gel before. He was confused about the tackiness remaining after the top coat. He didn't understand much English. When I tried to explain that once he put the alcohol on the tackiness would disappear, he couldn't comprehend so he put on another top coat instead and became distraught when it, too, was tacky after being in the dryer. The owner had left and we were the only two in the place. What a disaster- no translator, no training and no skills. Why a 2 instead of a 1? He tried and was polite. read more

I know for a fact I will never go back to this salon again. I was a regular customer up until about a year ago. Though I was a regular their work was never very consistent as there was new people all the time, but it was inexpensive which is what kept me coming back. The owner was very sweet, that is until my very last visit. I was getting a fill and my mother was getting a pedicure. She opted to get their callus remover. The man who was doing it though obviously did it wrong because it began to burn her. She made them remove the cream before they should have only to see an open sore on her foot. When she went to Cathy to tell her what happened, just to receive some acknowledgement on the situation, Cathy began saying that my mother came in with this huge sore on her foot and that it actually didn't happen at her salon. Why would they service someone with a large oozing sore on their foot? They completely lack customer service and I defiantly don't recommend. read more
