(Important note before I begin. I mistakenly thought that any chips counted as "chippy chips" but Adele has set me right on that!)
I fancied some chips on the way home from Saturday night's roller disco. I'd missed stopping off somewhere in Shawlands and figured I might as well try somewhere closer to home. For having lived near here for 5 years I don't think we've ever had takeaway from any of the shops along this strip on Ayr Road so I wasn't really sure where to try. Cathay Cuisine looked bright and inviting on a miserable night, so in I ducked and ordered chips and cheese and a can of coke which was just over £4 in total.
The staff were SUPER friendly, particular the young girl working and we had a good chat while I waited on the chips. After about 3-4 minutes, they chips were ready and I headed home. When I opened them, they were deliciously smothered in cheese (not just on top, all through the chips) and tasted like heaven. They needed a wee bit of salt over them, but apart from that, they made for the perfect post-skating snack while watching the remnants of Eurovision.
Now that I know about their chips, I fear I'm on a slippery slope into Chinese shop chip addiction. I'm reserving the final star for when I try out the rest of the menu. read more
