Fried Catfish, good comfort food. Don't really care for their fried quail. We always get the 1/2 onion 1/2 fried pickle appetizer. After that the 'all you can eat' is too much so usually get the regular catfish meal. Jalapeño hush puppies, fries or baked potato's. Coleslaw is good and is sweet. Other choices there too. Has been remodeled inside somewhat. Good atmosphere. No alcohol is served but byob is fine if you want beer with your fried catfish. read more

I waited over an hour for my food. I checked on my order several times. I got, "the kitchen is backed up." I understand. They were kind of busy. Then, I became more demanding. I was brought part of my order (catfish, coleslaw and fries...I didn't order fries) and was told "there were printer problems and my order never printed in the kitchen." I didn't receive my baked potato within 20 minutes or so of receiving my fish even though I was told the kitchen was working on it. I was told my dinner would be taken care of. Whether it is taken care of or not...this was a terrible night!! I told several people on the way out, if they don't want to wait an hour...then I would suggest you find a different place to have dinner. read more

I called my order in at 6:41 and I waited 30 minutes to go up there to pick up my food and they didn't have it ready. The girl didn't get my order right. So I went ahead and still waited to get my full order. It was 8pm and I still didn't have my order so I asked to speak with a manager by that time it was 8:20 and they gave me my order without charge bit it was all cold. We were really looking forward to eat at Catfish Corner but they have 2 doors. We went in and waited to be seated. Some lady told us to go in the other door.....so we did .......and waited. I've long been a fan of Catfish Corner, and I stopped by yesterday for the first time since Covid. I arrived at 1 pm to avoid the lunch rush, and the crowd had thinned to a handful when I sat down. I nearly always get the catfish plate, not the all you can eat, just a few pieces is enough with everything else. For the first time, I was not pleased with their specialty, the catfish. They've always done it thin and crispy, which I like, but this time they gave me pencil thin strips that had either been overcooked, or had been under a heat lamp for much too long, or both. Tough, dry, hard to even see any fish inside the batter. I didn't say anything to my server, as she was very efficient and polite. Beyond that, the fries and salad were good, but nothing to write home about. Service..... impeccable. I hope they see this and resolve to never serve dry, tough fish to anyone paying their asking price. read more

If I could rate it a zero I would. I myself work in the restaurant industry and know how COVID can you effect that but this had nothing to do with it. I came it with my sister-in-law and her two little kids. We arrived around 7:15pm and were told to seat ourselves. It took 15 minutes of workers walking right past us before we were brought menus and our drink order was taken. It took another 15min for the 4 of us to get our first round of drinks. When she bought out our drinks she also took our order and we did order and appetizer. It took 30 minutes for us to get our appetizer and another 45 minutes for us to get our food. I was the only person at the table to receive a drink refill and that was upon request and having been a server before even during the pandemic you should always take care of your tables. Our server was very rude and stand offish and she never once came back to check on our table. read more

Popped in for dinner earlier this evening based on a recommendation from a friend. We're fairly new to the area, and understand that this is somewhat of a local favorite. The restaurant itself is no-frills, but comfortable enough, and the staff is very friendly and welcoming. I ordered the "Captain's Catch," which includes three pieces of catfish and three pieces of their chicken fingers. I'm not a huge fan of catfish to begin with, and have had some pretty bad stuff over the years, but this was quality, clean fish, seasoned and breaded very nicely, and perfectly cooked. My wife, who is a bigger fan of catfish than I, really liked it. The chicken was incredibly good....in fact, I'd say it's probably about the best I've had. And it's served with a nice white gravy for dipping. In addition to the catfish, my wife got the frogs legs, and really enjoyed them. For sides we both got the side salad and baked potato. The potato came out piping hot just the way it should, and was served with all the butter and sour cream you could possibly want on the side. The side salad was obviously an afterthought: Iceburg lettuce, tomato, and pickle slices served in a little bowl like you'd normally get cole slaw in (which was the other "veggie" option). Nothing wrong with it, as it's obviously for people (like us) who were looking to lessen the guilt of eating all this delicious fried food! I'll try the slaw next time around. Oh, and the hush puppies: These are typically uninspired little balls of cornbread batter, but Catfish Corner did them up right--they were smaller than a lot of places, so they were cooked more evenly so as not to be tough on the outside and doughy in the middle. Theirs are just right, and a little spicy as well. A nice touch! Also worth mentioning is their house-brand habanero hot sauce. Very nice pepper & vinegar flavor, and fairly spicy without being over the top. Overall a very pleasant experience, and judging by the people seated around us, they seemed to feel the same. This isn't a place with a ton of "wow" factor, but a nice surprise and a solid choice when you're looking for something a bit out of the norm. We'll definitely be back. Oh, and there's a $20 PB&J sandwich on the menu. I didn't think to get the story on that, but it's something I'll check into on our next visit. Along with the hamburger steak, and a big pile of their fried chicken. And maybe some onion rings. : ) read more

Order the onion rings as an appetizer while you wait! the chicken and fish are THE items to order. cole slaw is OK. The salad is iceberg lettuce, not exciting. Be sure to get hush puppies! This place is fantastic. I am in town for work and have been searching for good places to eat. Based on the few yelp reviews, I decided to take a chance here. From the exterior, it's a little old or divey (well, from the inside too), but when I drove up, the parking lot was full. That's a good sign. I walked in, they had only one waitress working and she was fabulous. The other employees helped her out as much as they could and got my order (and all the people who walked in after me). The food came out quickly and it was worth an chaos. I ordered half a pound of boiled shrimp and the small fried catfish plate. I have nothing to complain about. The shrimp was big and delicious. Will NEVER eat here again. We normally get our meal to go at least once a month on our way home from work. We call it in at least 30 min before we pick it up and tell them this. It has never been ready or fully correct. Tonite was the worst customer service and entire meal was just plain nasty. Fish was cold, hush puppies were cold, coleslaw was warm, baked potato was dry and cheese hard. Fish tasted like dirt, really dirt. We waited 20 minutes once we got there for a meal that was obviously already boxed up. They also charged us $3.21 for 2 little tarter and cocktail sauces. NEVER AGAIN. I remember going to Locust right down the road as a kid and taking a field trip there to see one of the students dad because he was the cook there and remember having lunch there. Now almost 23 years later we still visit this place very frequently. It has the best fried catfish in town and a pretty solid menu. My wife who doesn't eat seafood still loves the chicken tenders or burger. It's a quaint little place with a welcoming, laid back atmosphere that literally hasnt changed since I was a kid. But with the hustle and bustling madness of everyday life, sometimes that isnt such a bad thing. read more

This was my first and last time I will eat here. The menu had food on it which got on my hand, and my fork and knife had hair on it. We order an appetizer which had fried bacon, onion rings, and pickles. The breading on the food was bland. It basically was plain flour fried food. I ordered the seafood combo which came with fried shrimp, stuffed crab, fish fillet, hush puppies, and fries. The fish fillet were so skinny it was fish sticks, the stuffed crab was bland and over fried, as well as the hush puppies and, the fries were soggy. We had not eaten here for quite some time until mid August 2018. The place seemed quite clean and we had very good service. We had the small order of onion rings to start and the amount we got was huge. We love onion rings, but also wanted to save room for our meal, so we didn't come close to finishing them off. They were good, but could have used some quality seasoning in the breading. One got chicken fried steak and said it was all very good, including the gravy. The other got the smallest amount of fish on the menu. It was also very good along with the salad and baked potato. First time eating here was great! Decided to call in and pick up. I was going to copy and paste my review from Facebook. But, I then saw where they took the review option down from their page. Anyways I call in my order. The lady tells me 15 to 20 minutes I get there right at 20 minutes and I pay. The lady said she would go get my sweet tea and Diet Coke. Well she walked off then came back. There was an older gentleman that came in and ordered right then and there. Being sure the lady gives him extra stuff for his catfish. She was sweet as can be to him. I don't know if he tipped her is why or what. But, not even 5 minutes from him ordering as soon as he walked in the door. He had his order and out. Minutes later she looks at me like she never even saw me before. Asking what am I waiting for did I have a pick up? I said yes. For amber. She finally came with our food. I informed my husband that was the LAST time we go there! Someone walks in and out and from when I ordered to sitting there and waiting it was 50 minutes! Ridiculous! read more
