The food is good, but I only support this place because the owner is from Louisiana and I love his Boudin Balls. My first time here. I always wear a mask when I go into a business. Turns out they only do to go orders and you have to wait in the car once you order. However, none of the staff wears a mask. It took 25 minutes for my order to be ready. The fish was hot but the fries were not. The fish was good, hot and spicy. The shrimp are small, little more than the size of a quarter. I will overlook a lot if the staff is friendly and welcoming but they were cold, like the fries. Stopped by to grab a bite during a tournament. We ordered a 2pc fillet and 2pc fillet/3shrimp. The food was made fresh but was out quickly. Everything tasted AMAZING! Best catfish I've had since moving here. The tatar sauce added an extra kick that took my meal to the next level. Love having the bread, pickles and peppers to compliment the fish. Knocking down two stars because customer service sucks! The food is good but they are disorganized. You call in an order, pick up based on the time given and order not ready. When calling in an order your placed on hold for a long time. You pick up the order and they cannot find it. When they finally find your order, your asked to wait longer because it has not been started. I understand that we're basically in the ghetto but professionalism goes a long way. Most of the fried catfish I've had in my lifetime basically consisted of thin catfish filets, breaded and fried to the point where they were dry and required TONS of tartar sauce and beer to take it down. This was not typical catfish. Thick filets, breaded, seasoned, and fried to perfection. The meat was tender and flaky, while the outside was nice and crispy. Props to the deep fryer and chef. For me (a self admitted WIMP when it comes to spicy food), it was a little spicy, which means it'll be ok for the rest of the world. It comes with fries, which were ok, nothing spectacular. I'm going to echo a previous reviewer and say that this is hands down the best fried catfish I've ever had. The fish was cooked perfectly and was flaky and with good texture. Not at all mushy as is the case with other joints pawning off frozen or subpar fish. The breading, oh the breading! This can stand on it's own and was a wonderful mix of cornmeal and spice. A Oak Cliff staple been in same spot for years, Mom use to bring us here when I was younger back then you picked the fish you wanted out of the tank they would kill and then fry it up for you seems so barbaric but it was the 80s before we were so politically correct and health codes we're very hush and lenient. Been here a few Fridays had the spicy fillets they were decent had the steaks very meaty,but my favorite are the non spicy fillets with that magic tarter sauce and light bread yea I said it light bread.
