The fish is excellent. It's been a while since my last visit and I see a lot of improvements in the taste of the fish and the quality. Get them spicy and you will taste the flavor. It's not so spicy it burns your tongue but a nice Creole flavor. Wait times are usually not that long either.

Supporting small local businesses is hard with this one. First time since I'm new to the area and last time. Called in my order, a rude lady answers the phone ... made my order. Went to pick it up ... 30 min wait, with is fine. Got my food and left. When I left I noticed tons of rat droppings, junk stacked up in the waiting area and the place was just filthy. Got home. Food was disappointing and scary to try now. Fries were soggy and greasy. Fish wasn't great. This is not catfish. Did not taste like catfish. At all. If it was, it's probably frozen catfish from Sam's. More corn meal than fish. The crab cake looked like a burnt chocolate cookie and the taste was off. I just threw it away. Who knows how old it was. The shrimp and tartare sauce just ok. I couldn't eat it anymore. Just dumped it. Never again, just a waste of money.

Catfish Connection at 2464 W Kiest Blvd, Dallas, TX 75233 I do got to say if you go there on Friday you can have to wait in line. Overall I ordered from Uber Eats for pickup. They give you kind of a quick window when to pick up. Please remember this place is taking a lot of orders by phone also You don't even sit down inside to eat here and everything is take out. Remember they're getting a lot of orders. Now I got to say they messed up on my order. They missed out on something but they made up by giving me two extra fish fillets. I was going to give him three stars but when I ate the food an I noticed that I ate it so fast. I didn't even take enough pictures so what does that tell you lol If you are in the area and it's not lunch time or dinner time. You owe it to yourself to stop by here and enjoy this delicious fish If it's dinner or lunch time just understand you going to wait to enjoy

Catfish is salty and has like a Tony Cachere tang but not really spicy, fries are soggy and bread is old. The tartar sauce taste thousand islands dress with a kick. The best part is the pickles and jalapeños. Of course the place is small and cooked to order. The staff is always friendly but the food every time hits differently. I have to update I gave them another chance. I am updating from 3 to 4. Go get a slice of cake.

However, when the food came out, about half of the shrimp still had the heads on. I brought this to the manager's attention (her name was Tay) because I simply wanted to understand why I was charged for head-off shrimp but didn't receive what I ordered. Instead of looking into it or trying to resolve the issue, she immediately told me that I was wrong and that she knew what I ordered. When I showed her the receipt confirming it said head-off shrimp, she became very passive-aggressive and mentioned that "she was tired and had a very long day". The conversation never led to a solution, apology, or any effort to correct the mistake. Instead I am stuck with food that I did NOT order. To make matters worse, once I got home and actually went through the bags, I realized one of the bags was completely wrong and contained something I didn't even order clams. For a $195 bill, I expected much better customer service and at least a willingness to address a simple concern. The way the situation was handled felt dismissive and unprofessional. These kids running this place need some real people skills all of them there are useless and lack basic customer service skills. Take your money elsewhere where. We sat at the table for two near the door which had great lighting, and it was really fun to people watch as pedestrians roamed outside. Our server recommended a few cocktails - I got the Limelight which was delicious and my friend got one of the clarified cocktails, which was also very tasty. Honestly the alcohol flavor was masked super well so they're very dangerous drinks! Will have to come by to try some of the others. Our server was super helpful explaining & coursing out the menu, and we got a bunch of items to share. First up we got the scallop aguachile, which was tart and spicy and super refreshing, and the salmon tartare which was creamy and decadent and came with shatteringly crisp wonton chips. Really excellent starters, and they made me want to come back and get the rest some time! Then we split the ahi tuna tostadas and the crab avocado tostadas, which come 2 per order. Hugo O. came over to ask if we were sharing and helpfully had them plated one each per plate so we could eat them more easily, and also brought over a chili pequín hot sauce to complement the tostadas. They were so good! I'll be dreaming about both the tostadas and the pequín sauce for a while. The ahi tuna was super fresh and went so well with the accompaniments, and the crab didn't get lost in the other flavors on that tostada. The crisp tortillas underneath also held up really well to each bite; I'm so used to tostadas shattering upon first taste but the structural integrity of Hugo's were super impressive. For our main we split the fish of the day, which was seared Hokkaido scallop atop a bed of corn risotto. This also came pre-split into two bowls so we didn't have to do it ourselves, which was a super nice touch. The scallops were cooked to perfection, super soft and tender with an incredible crust, and the corn risotto was super creamy and savory. Almost a little too salty for me with the amount of cheese, but still so good I almost licked the bowl clean. Seriously good food here - sad it's a bit of a trek from where I live but I can't wait to come back to try more of the menu!

I am from the Pacific Northwest and I love seafood. I've lived in Dallas for 3 1/2 years and have generally avoided it because anytime I've had it, its been disappointing. This is the first seafood place that's not a sushi place that I am obsessed with. It's a very small space, very intimate, can be a little bit loud at times depending on who's sitting next to you...but if you have the money and you're looking for quality seafood, this place is incredible. Perfect to celebrate a special occasion or a date night. highly recommend. service is great. We ordered the seafood tower and every single item on it was delicious. Definitely ask for some melted butter to go with your lobster. Im not big on poke but the poke was seasoned with sesame oil and was so fresh. The scallops were buttery and amazing. The oysters were the perfect size. Fresh? Not overly salty. The mignonette was perfect. This was the first meal I've been this excited about since i discovered otaru sushi...but other than that can't think of any other places where the food blew my mind and made my eyes roll back in my head. The thing is that seafood can be so tricky. The biggest part is the quality/freshness. Everything on the seafood tower was extremely simple, but it was also perfection. It was beautiful to look at as well.

We had been recommended Juicy's from multiple people, but the closest one to us is in fact this location, which is 20-25 min away! Which is why it took us so long to come in! I am so glad we finally decided to make the drive! I will say we did not expect the wait to be as long! We waited for approx 45 min for a table for 2. However, it was a Friday, and the food was oh so worth it! When I say there were so many people willing to wait for their table! It only speaks to the amazing food! For food we started off with some cheese sticks! They were fried to perfection! The cheese inside was indeed fully melted and the cheese pull we had is a testament to how good they were! For our boil, we decided to build our own! I will note they had a good variety of daily specials and there weekend special was so good too, we just were on a mission for some crawfish! We ordered one pound of crawfish, one pound of Black Mussels, and a half pound of snow crab legs! Every pound you order comes with potatoes and corn, and we ended up adding in egg! We chose the spiciest spice level you could, and got the juicy flavor (all seasonings combined)! BEST DECISION EVER! Overall, we cleaned the entire PLATE! It was such a great experience, from the service, to the vibes, everything hit the spot! This will definitely not be our last time in!

Often times after it's all said & done, you wonder - was that worth it? Thankfully, that is NOT the experience I had at Haywire! I ate here on August 9th, 2025 and enjoyed everything about it. I was with a large party but would love to return for a more intimate experience. On this Saturday, my younger cousin was graduating from Parker University so I was in town for the weekend. At around 1pm, I was one of the first to arrive at the restaurant. Unfortunately the parking is a bit confusing. There was construction being done on the same street when I went but there's a parking garage for customers that's difficult to navigate AND the elevator that connects wasn't operating at the time which was an issue for many (but not me, I got a good spot & walked). My party hadn't all arrived yet so I took a gander. Upon entering the tall doors, the space breathes southwestern elegance: wooden structure, leather seating, separate dining areas with highlighted ranch-style art. The abundance of space gives it an open-concept feel. The lighting fixtures are modern, the space was dim but not too low, with an option to utilize the large windows also. I was quiet impressed at the overall presentation. When my party did arrive, I wanted to keep it simple so I ordered the Chicken Cobb Salad and a Hibiscus Haze with Vodka. The table shmoozed as we ate some of the appetizers: the Crab Dip & Green Tomatoes, both amazing. The food did take some time but, considering it was 10-12 of us, that's expected. The Hibiscus Haze was splendid: smooth & flavorful, a great concoction. Cobb salads are usually pretty thick but this one was HEARTY. It came in a large bowl stuffed with the all the toppings. The dressing it was tossed with was well balanced but could've used a tad bit more. With some pepper & a little ranch, I was set! I defeated the salad but it also left me stuffed to the gills. Satisfying meal that I would order again! There are tons of restaurants to dine at in Dallas & sometimes you never know which is worth your time. Despite the inconvenience of parking, I'd bet my bottom dollar that this is a good place to eat. Whether you want a fine dining experience, it's a special occasion or just want a good drink with a meal, Haywire has enough to satisfy all interests.

Knowledgeable about the menu & great recommendations. Kev was a joy to have as our server. The food is amazing & love the ambiance of the restaurant. My only complaint...we came in early Saturday prior to Stars game. The restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were asked if we had a reservation. We did not, the restaurant wasn't busy at all. We were asked to wait. Waited maybe 5-10mins. No biggie, A lot of open tables were available for immediate sit down. Again that wasn't a big deal. I had asked for a booth & wanted to sit in front room. The hostess said no a problem. She handed us off to a younger hostess and she took us to a table. I told her I had requested a booth. In the front room only 3 tables were occupied. I pointed out the booth and she said that's for party of 6. However, we could have the 1/2 table/booth. Made absolutely no sense because that was for a party of 6 as well. I made this comment & she just stared at me without saying a word. I didn't want to seem difficult and took the table as she just walked away. Kev was confused as we were. No good communication skills. It was an awkward encounter. The restaurant wasn't busy at all & never was whole time there. Kev wasn't sure why she didn't move us a requested & was puzzled himself. However i apologized to him & explained I wasn't trying to be difficult, but prefer booth sitting and most times we will wait for one. We left at 1:45p and restaurant was no busier than when we arrived. Reservation/Booth or not! I guess saying all of this, your front staff need to have more people skills when dealing with your customers. They are the face and first point of contact. Again Kev was amazing & food was outstanding!
