Lunch, frog legs were good, fried shrimp were tasteless. We were disappointed for the price.

My favorites were the loaded bagels, the ready to order omelettes, and the perfectly poured mimosas. Other offerings included shrimp and grits, salmon, meatloaf, biscuits with white or chocolate gravy, and waffles. There was something for everyone in our party (ages 7-70). I can't wait to come here again!

They have the dining out market around here in a choke hold. If you go back and look at old Yelp pictures this guy is so confident you have no other choices that he essentially says to "Ef" off and go somewhere else to eat, or "sit down and shut up", I'll get to you when I want to and you will take it. Now, I did not see this sign, I am not sure if it is still there or not. Being an asshole myself, I kinda appreciate it though, LOL. Anywho... we went twice and ate once. Arrived for dinner about 7:30 on a Friday. 40 min wait. No biggie. Went back on a Sunday for lunch, 45 min wait, had a baby in tow so couldn't wait. Lil'C ain't having that... It's a nice place, nothing fancy, but good for the area. I mean Sara Huckabee. Ya know. Friday dinner was good. As per usual, C and I ordered enough food for us plus a couple more. Our server kinda started off slightly gruff, but my undeniable boyish charm melted that hard persona, and she warmed up considerably. By the end of the meal, she was bubbly and super helpful. We had fun conversation and she lead us to some fire dessert choices. We had the Crispy Shrimp Wraps that were on specials menu on 8-30-24. I enjoyed them immensely. The shrimp had some filling wrapped inside of it that was really tasty. Sauce served with it was solid too. Also had the Orange Chipotle Duck Wings appetizer. Very tasty, great fried skin texture, sticky spicy sweet glaze made them different than I have had before. Great original menu item! I had the Grilled Steelhead Trout (Rainbow). The bourbon pecan compound butter was underutilized and arrived as a solid puck when food was delivered. Fish had a great Smokey flavor and really didn't need the butter. I am not sure I even tasted it. C had the Bacon-Wrapped Meatloaf. She barely touched it, when I inquired, she said it was "ok". Took it back with us but never ate it and threw 90% of it away. I've learned when to be inquisitive, and when to shut up. Both meals came with a salad bar, potato choice, and a pile of crap veggies. She got a big salad at the bar and loved it. I don't like food borne illness so I don't partake. We both had baked potatoes, they were completely plain, nothing on it. I am not sure who wants it like this. Good news is they use actual butter in the tables so I drowned that junt in butter and ate it up. If you've made it this far, I commend you, no one reads Yelp reviews. If you do get this far, below is your prize. The desserts are the ultimate stars here!!!! Homemade and the two we had were absolutely amazing! Gosh damn fantastic! Our desserts were taken to go as we over-ordered dinner. We had the Carrot Cake and Lemon Cheesecake. Holy crap! Both were stunning examples of baking expertise! I have never had a better Carrot Cake in my life. Indescribable good! Lemon Cheesecake was equally impressive. I could write a whole review just on these two desserts. I am pissed I forgot to go by and get some dessert to take back home. May never be back.... Crap resort pissed off C... '24 - 74/102. One in jail. One deleted.

This place nails the perfect blend of authentic Southern hospitality, mouthwatering food, and a cozy, down-home vibe that makes you feel like family. I ordered the Cajun blackened catfish, and let me tell you--it was perfection on a plate. The seasoning was bold, spicy, and perfectly balanced, with a crispy exterior giving way to tender, flaky fish. My wife went for the ribeye, cooked to a juicy medium-rare, and it was one of the best steaks we've had in years--rich, flavorful, and melt-in-your-mouth tender. We shared the stuffed mushrooms as an appetizer, and they were an absolute highlight: plump, savory, and bursting with cheesy, garlicky goodness. Portions? Massive. We left stuffed and happy, with leftovers for the next day. The value here is outstanding. The service was top-notch--our server was friendly, attentive, and full of great recommendations without ever feeling rushed. The restaurant itself has such a fun, welcoming atmosphere: walls covered in taxidermy, quirky photos, and local charm that spark smiles and conversation. It's the kind of place where you linger after your meal just to soak it all in. If you're craving real Cajun flavor, generous helpings, and a true hometown feel, Who Dat's is a five-star winner. We can't wait to go back!

Brown's Catfish

Brown's Catfish in Russellville, Arkansas - A Local Gem with a Buffet That'll Win You Over (Even If…read moreYou're Not a Buffet Person) We stumbled across Brown's Catfish in Russellville after hearing some good things and decided to give it a shot. My wife loves catfish. I, on the other hand, have a soft spot for buffets--mostly because I like a little bit of everything and a lot of the desserts. Normally, my wife avoids buffets like they're haunted, but after checking out some photos and hearing the buzz, even she was curious. So, next time we were in town, we made a stop. First thing we noticed: this place was packed. It felt like all of Russellville had shown up for dinner--but that's usually a good sign. Even with the crowd, the place was impressively clean. The staff was on top of it--constantly wiping things down, restocking, and making sure everything looked fresh. They even had gloves available at the buffet, which was a nice touch. Now, onto the food--which is really why you're here, right? The buffet lineup is stacked. There's a full salad bar for those trying to make their plate look balanced before diving into fried deliciousness. Sides included southern staples like corn on the cob, candied carrots, beans, and a solid gumbo. The entrée station had different styles of catfish (including Cajun and regular), shrimp, crab cakes, and chicken strips. Sometimes they even serve chicken on the bone if you catch them at the right time. Dessert? Let's just say the four major buffet food groups were represented: warm cobbler, cookies, cinnamon rolls, and soft-serve ice cream. My wife basically fell in love with the cinnamon rolls and now refers to them as "worth the trip alone." The inside is cozy and decked out with plenty of southern decor to look at while you try to justify going back for a third plate. There's lots of seating, and even though it was busy, it never felt cramped--which is a big win in my book, since I'm not exactly small and appreciate a little elbow room when going after fried catfish. The service was top-notch. Friendly staff, quick to refill drinks and clear plates, and just all-around attentive. You can tell they take pride in the place, and it shows. Now, I'll be honest--every review needs one tiny critique. The chicken tenders were a bit on the chewy side, and not just once. We've been there three or four times now, and it's always the same. Not undercooked, just... chewy. My son, a self-declared chicken tender expert, confirmed it too. It could be the cooking temp or the type of chicken they're using, but it's a minor flaw in an otherwise fantastic spread. Bottom line: Brown's Catfish is a must-stop if you're in Russellville. It's a locally-loved spot that lives up to the hype. My wife, the buffet skeptic, is now a full-on believer--and every time we're in town, she's the one asking to go back. Between the catfish, the cinnamon rolls, and the warm hometown feel, Brown's is officially in our rotation. Support your local spots--especially the ones that serve catfish this good.

It was my very first time dining here. When you walk up to the front entrance, you're greeted by a set of concrete steps, which are reminiscent of an old-timey church. (If you're handicapped, there's an entrance around the corner that leads through their kitchen.) Although this joint specializes in catfish, I grew up fishing and eating walleye, northern pike, bass, etc. I never developed any taste for a fish that had a muddy flavor. So, I ended up ordering the chopped beef steak (3/4ths pound) with extra mushrooms, extra onions, and red peppers. For my sides, I went with grilled vegetables and coleslaw. It also came with a perfectly browned piece of toast. Because virtually everyone else ordered catfish or some variation, the servers brought out hush puppies, brown beans, and pickled green tomatoes for everyone (including me). On this hot and humid day, I enjoyed and appreciated multiple cups of refreshing, unsweetened iced tea. My favorite foods included the deliciously creamy coleslaw, the pleasantly and unexpectedly tasty and tangy pickled green tomatoes, and the crunchy hush puppies. Be sure to request a side or two of their tangy tartar sauce for dipping the hush puppies into. I don't know which kitchen worker decided to spill the salt shaker onto my grilled vegetables! There was zero finesse whatsoever with how they chose to season something that needed none at all. The two female servers were efficient and very patient with our large and talkative group. My bill for my meal and drink was less than $20.00! I was very pleased with how affordable this restaurant was. I would probably return again, if in the area, now that I'm familiar with how the food is prepared here. Three and a half stars, rounded down to three, mainly due to their overuse of sodium in some of their offerings.
