I am so impressed with Jeff Castro and his awesome team. We needed a tree removed and another tree heavily trimmed. I got on Nextdoor to find someone and it was pretty clear that everyone highly recommended Jeff and thought he was the best at service, price, experience, and everything in between. I texted him and he immediately called me back and came out that same day to walk through what I needed. He is extremely knowledgeable and offered me great advice, which I accepted. He is not pushy and takes his time while he is with you. He conveniently planned the day of service around the city brush pickup, which happened to be the very next week. His very experienced and professional team of 6 guys showed up right on time and completed everything in less than 3 hours. They cleaned up thoroughly after they were done and I was left with a beautifully landscaped tree, and you can't even tell the other tree was taken out from the place it once stood. His price was extremely competitive (after finding out what other people have paid with other companies). Save yourself some time and don't spend all day on Yelp and Nextdoor trying to find a good tree company. A tree, a very large tree decided to kiss my house. In Oak Cliff our trees grow very tall and will sprout new trees from out of no where. There were no big storms just a few light rain showers here and there but it was enough totally up root the tree that kissed my house. I like to keep my business in the neighborhood so I searched for tree service in Oak Cliff and found Castro's Tree Service on Yelp and found all the favorable reviews. My husband called and was told due to the rain he had let his crew go that morning and it would be next day or even the day after that before he could get over there. Before we could contact anyone else the phone rang and it was Castro's Tree Service. He had called back in people to come out to my home to get the job done. Not only did he get the job done he also loaded up my monster of a tree and hauled it off as well. It was a muddy venture for him and his crew and the price for the job was very fair in my opinion. I recommend Castro's Tree Service with NO reservations. I had ten HUGE Pecan trees that had not been trimmed in many years. When Mr. Castro looked at the job, he told me it was going to be a big job and expensive. When he gave me his bid, he was the highest of the three bids i received. He explained to me that he paid his workers well and as a result he has many employees who have been with him a long time and were very experienced. There was a professional air in his manner and he answered all of my questions with such confidence that I was compelled to choose him over the other cheaper bids. I am very glad I did. When his crew showed up, they were well equipped with all the necessary gear to safely do the job, they worked fast, were polite and cleaned the yard up completely when finished. The job was so big it took 7 guys working all day to get the job done. The trees never looked better and I have had many compliments and requests for his contact info. Last week, I phoned Castro's Tree Service requesting an estimate. Jeff came by that evening and he couldn't have been more generous with his time, sharing information about the trees on my property, what to look for in quality trimming, shaping, disease, and how some methods increase a tree's vulnerability to disease. He was thoughtful about bulk trash pickup to save me the added expense and we scheduled the next week. When the team arrived this morning I was so pleased. I originally reached out to Castro's last year in the heat of the summer. The gentleman that came by was upfront about the stress the tree would experience and he seemed to care about the tree every bit as much as I did. I really liked that. I'm all about keeping it real so I also really appreciated him talking through the best times to prune a pecan. Obviously he was willing to do something right then but the fact that he was considerate of my tree left a very positive impression. I let him know I would wait until it was dormant & be back in touch. Fast forward to yesterday, I reached out and the same gentleman came by. The crew had an open spot the next morning which was great. The crew arrived the next morning, introduced themselves and verified which tree. They took the time to move my potted plants and even my bird bath. They cleaned everything up and then asked me to come inspect. I had a tree fall on the house on Sunday night with a storm asked for quote as soon as happened. Monday they were here to remove! Jeff is super nice and responded to my text and bad pics Sunday night, just asked for better ones when the sun came out Monday. I wanted to get on a fix it list as soon as possible. I did have an issue of another limb falling Tuesday after they were here but I didn't see a split limb and I guess they didn't either. He came back out today, Wednesday, to check and reassure me he didn't see any more potential problems on the tree. The Temps have been high (TX summer..) and a common issue for my loved pecan tree so not holding against them it could have just been its time. PS Did you know oncor will normally fix the power line to the house if a tree limb hit the line, good information to have! read more

We had a neighbor's huge elm tree (approximately 80' tall) begin to fall onto our property, breaking through our brick fence. It was leaning at such an angle we knew it could fall on our house at anytime. Based on numerous yelp positive reviews, I called Jeff Castro and texted him pictures of the tree. Jeff saw the seriousness of the situation and came out immediately to survey the site personally. Because it was late in the evening and dark, he advised us to stay clear of the back of the house until his crew arrived the next morning. You cannot beat this tree service company for price and precision! About 8 years ago we had a huge tree that was threatening to split and fall on our neighbor's house. Jeff and crew came out and professionally took down the tree with no damage done at all. Last week I called Jeff for help with trimming trees in our backyard. This was a delicate job because the trees were over our chicken coop and run. The team came out and removed all the limbs we wanted, and again, not one bit of damage to our yard or to the chicken coop. It is fun to watch them maneuver through the trees and swing the limbs down into a vacant area in the yard. And their clean-up is just what you would expect from quality workers. the 1st time we used Castro's Tree service was an emergency due to ice storm. They responded quickly and did a great job for us on a very short notice. We recently used them for a complete service on all of our trees, including a very large Red Oak, Pecan tree entangled in power lines, and a trash tree in the power lines and falling into neighbors yard. The communication was great before, during ,and after the job. Jeff gave us several options and recommendations for best way to proceed. I had some limbs on my roof that needed removal. Castro Tree Service was on my neighborhood association (Hollywood Santa Monica Neighborhood Association) preferred contractors list. Jeff Castro immediately returned my phone call and asked for some pictures. He gave me a very reasonable quote and said his crew could do the job the following day, on the 4th of July at 10am. They arrived on time, carefully removed the limbs taking care not to disturb the new plantings on the ground where they were working. They cleaned up everything down to the last leaf, and hauled away the limbs. Everything was done is less than 20 minutes, and on a holiday to boot. We liked the convenience of communicating by text and Mr. Castro gave us good information and advice about the trees in our yard. His was the second quote we received to do the work and we were so impressed after talking with him, we decided on his services immediately. The crew was on time and very efficient. He gave me one within just a couple hours and his communication throughout the rest of the job was just as timely.
