Took my 88 yr old mom here today to see if they could help her with her body. Heidi was very gentle and patient with her. Beautiful clean office and easy to find. Overall good experience. read more

Found this place through Yelp and glad I did. I'm half way through the therapeutic package (which helps reduce the per visit cost) and thought this would a good time to provide an update. I've had lower back pain for a while and thanks to the extensive consultation and evaluation, Croft was able to identify and show me where my issues were coming from. I basically have 4 moderate areas that need addressing. Croft will go over the details and prioritize which areas to tackle first and more importantly why. After the first session, I felt great. I had movement and mobility that I hadn't had in years and quiet frankly forgot that's how our bodies should be moving. My sacrum had been stuck where performing figure fours or cobras (in pilates/yoga) was near impossible. Now that I can move/bend/twist with a greater degree of rotation, these movements and thus the classes are much more enjoyable and challenging in the way it should be. I've seen considerable improvement with every visit. It is intense at times as the movement of the body (rotation/mobility/etc) is reconfiguring. As those 'moderate areas' start to realign, expect realigning to happen elsewhere until full head to toe alignment occurs. My left knee tended to turn in, with the sacrum finding mobility, my left knee felt very wobbly doing squats and other exercises I had not problem performing before. This is probably because my sacrum/hip alignment had improved that my knee needed to play catch up. Just be mindful of how you had done those movements before and engage slowly as you relearn proper form and technique with the new underlying alignment. Lastly the homework is crucial to not only maintain the benefit of the sessions, but to help facilitate the future sessions (2 steps forward, 1 step back when omitting the homework exercise). Looking forward to the remaining sessions! read more

Unbelievable! I myself was saved by Croft for my own neck troubles ( dentist ). I thought I was going to have to change professions it got so bad. Croft worked his muscle magic, proper diagnosis, and gave me guidance to prevent future issues. I have been pain free for years now. When my wife was in such duress with neck pain that she couldn't stand without feeling nauseous, I knew immediately who to call. Online booking was easy. To shout out even more to Croft-- he genuinely cares. He responded to my emergency query on a Sunday and got us an appointment to see his associate that was working that day. Insane ! I haven't seen him in years and he got us a Sunday emergency visit. I love that guy ! Look no further. His office even has a new recovery chamber with fancy therapy lights to allow even faster muscular response times. My wife said it looked like a sun tanning bed but she was amazed at how much more loose her muscles felt after the recovery session too. Keep up the amazing healing powers Croft ! read more

I have had kyposis in my mid back all of my life. I have found that Croft has been much more helpful in helping me straighten the midback than any chiropractor or physical therapist I have been to. He also helped me with an crook in my back as well. I can highly recommend him to anyone suffering from Kyposis and/or other neck, back and hip issues. read more

Castrell Neuromuscular Therapy has been my go to for massages in the past years where you just literally need someone to help you get out those darn knots! I don't even go to spa massages anymore because they just don't work for me, hah. After a visit here, I actually FEEL better and stay better (until it's time for another massage haha). My husband and I have been going with Croft for the past few years. Postpartum though, Croft suggested Heidi for me and she is SUPERB! I cannot recommend her enough. She is amazingly empathetic and just the kind of massage therapist I've been looking for postpartum. She's worked on different parts of my body with kind consideration to what I need each changing day. I cannot wait to go back. Highly recommend her- she's amazing! read more

You get what you invest: integrity, transparency, and addressing the underlying issue. I am grateful for Croft, Luis, and Heidi--they each bring unique skills and expertise and are very talented. When I say they focus on the core problem, I am a 49-year-old woman diagnosed with fibromyalgia in 2010, who recently discovered that I wasn't breathing properly due to past traumas. This realization is both humorous and sincere, showing honesty. I thank the entire Castro team. Like many others, I've visited multiple chiropractors, massage therapists, and other healthcare professionals--Kaiser, Hello Auto Medical Group--over the years. Since my diagnosis in 2010, I appreciate how they managed to get to the root of my issue; my breathing was restricted. , I was just breathing out of my neck and chest, not my abdomen. read more

I'm updating my review because Izzie has been so amazing. I went in yesterday with a horrible headache and walked out feeling significantly relieved after only an hour session. I had to call multiple times to actually get my message through. read more

I found Croft when searching for something better than a PT who just has you do stretches. I made a double back to back appt for me and my husband. Croft was a ninja lol really if you are someone like me and was seeing a physical therapist and not getting much relief, you found the next best thing with Croft from check in he was knowledgeable, caring, and overall amazing at what he does. You can tell he is truly in his element when he's working with patients. He makes the visit fun and establishes rapport. Highly recommend going here if you have any physical discomfort or pain. I was suffering from pain due to anxiety and couldn't find relief until I came here. I saw Vasily for my first few appointments and he was great. Majority of my appointments were with Jillina and she was amazing. I had so many issues and she would always listen and come up with a plan to help me. I'm so grateful that I came here and that she was able to help me heal. I don't think I would have recovered without her. read more

I've been treated by Croft for some twelve hours total so far. I say, confidently, that every single hour has been worth more, therapy wise, than every 12 week course of physical therapy (with me doing all associated exercises) for all of the injuries from my 12 lives of walking away with no broken bones (but a lot of pain) from insane, unbelievable, injuries that should have killed me but I walked away from. I found him because I had Covid that became long Covid, and spent all of 2022 pouring over the support groups and taking notes on everything that ever helped anyone. "Neural Reset Massage" was on that list, I searched Yelp and there were two places in San Francisco, plus the website for Croft Neuromuscular, that listed it (amongst a long list) in the modalities. This (and / or a bunch of supplements) may have been what finally cured my long Covid. His treatment has certainly gone a long way toward fixing the curve in my body, mostly eliminating my sleep apnea, and generally getting my head on straight. Croft is the nicest guy you could ever meet. The vibration in the place is so peaceful and copacetic that I felt it immediately on my first visit. Croft started long ago as an accountant, didn't like it (kinda boring) and proceeded to be certified in massage, then every possible modality. He made it clear right away that he wasn't doing Neural Reset Massage, he was in fact using a lot of modalities. And that was clear, such a brief evaluation and he knew and knows exactly what to do. It's not a do forever thing, it's an amazing, to me unheard of, permanent improvement at every session. I'm looking forward to more, every dollar I've spent here has been among the best use of a dollar I've ever found. There is no possible way I could recommend these services more highly. read more

I've been seeing Croft regularly for some time now and have seen a lot of improvement. This week, because of some scheduling issues on my end, I decided to book with Jillina. What a great experience! She is competent and caring, and gave me an excellent treatment, maintaining the high standards I've come to expect from Croft. I am so pleased that I can be confident that both Croft and Jillina are there to help me continue my healing journey. Don't live in pain! It isn't always a comfortable hour, but I see consistent progress, and I give the skilled therapists at Castrell a lot of credit for helping me get there. read more

Castrell Neuromuscular Therapy is pure excellence! I have been to many massage businesses in Silicon Valley and I can say, hands down, that this is the absolute best one. All therapists at this business are wonderful, but I have worked extensively with Croft. He is an expert in his field; he has vast knowledge of the body, knows a variety of modalities and works to find the root of your pain. His top priority is to get you out of distress and then to teach you how to take care and improve your body so you don't end up in the same situation that brought you to him. I appreciate how he wants all his clients to improve and ultimately not need him anymore. This is so opposite of many therapist, who just want to make money off people. Croft is not only a highly skilled therapist, but his manner and professionalism always make me feel at ease. He is funny, kind and tells the best jokes, just when I need it. I am so thankful I found this place and Croft! read more

I used to play a lot of basketball and have suffered numerous injuries that have come back in one form or another off and on for the past two decades. I was diagnosed with arthritis in my big toe and have gone through numerous physical therapists. Still, I had never acquired the knowledge or tools to improve my condition. I was also an avid runner until several injuries sidelined me for the better part of a year. In my first meeting with Croft, he was able to root out the source of my pain and has helped me improve mobility and strengthen and reincorporate underused muscles. I can use my big toe again for the first time in over a decade, and the pain has largely subsided. Croft's massage techniques provide immediate benefits, and his diagnostic skills are top-notch. I have never encountered someone with such ability in other massage sessions or physical therapy. I highly recommend Castro Neurotherapy and am so glad I stumbled across them on Yelp. It has truly been life-changing. read more

The experience was a bit disappointing as a whole. To be fair, Vasily seems like a decent guy, and I've only seen the man for a single 1hr session, so please bear this in mind. The good: * I was able to get a physical assessment and learned a little about the important dynamic/relationship between diaphragms. The underwhelming: * Scope and depth of knowledge regarding fascia. * Communication was lacking. I felt that there was little room for exploration and discovery. Most likely it was due to the point above. On a side note, I've worked with and spoken with other therapists within this space, and can say that just as it is true within the field of medicine or nutrition -- the body of experience, knowledge, and the general humility + eagerness to learn and keep up to date with latest developments/research varies widely depending on the person. Again, I've only seen the man for a single 1hr session so there's a good chance that he hasn't been given a fair opportunity to showcase his ability. read more

I had a terrible experience with Croft Castrell. During our first session he worked on my peroneal tendonitis but I left the session with pain in my right foot big toe which I did not have prior to the massage. I thought the pain would fade but it did not. It's been a week so far and I am still experiencing pain with every step and was told by a podiatrist to stay off my foot. I reached out to Croft prior to leaving a negative review to let him know about my negative and painful experience but was met with condescension and dismissal. I don't feel moved to leave reviews often but in this case it seemed like the right thing to do and I hope it helps someone to avoid having a similar negative experience. read more

I had an acute back problem sneak up on me and made a same day appointment with Vasily for later in the day. To put things in perspective, I legitimately limped, hunched over in pain, into the office. Vasily went over what was going on with me, aside from the visual obvious, took notes then went to work. He is an absolute magician with what he does. Its hard to explain exactly what all is done in the therapy session. But he worked out tight muscles that were influencing the back pain I was having. When he was done, I walked out of the office in no pain and contemplated returning to work that night. Felt so great. Ive been going weekly to have him help me increase the flexibility in my hips and thus eased up my back pain. I'm thankful, from the bottom of my heart, for his help and the clinic. Thank you so so much! read more

I would like to highly recommend this clinic for anyone with muscular or neuromuscular issues , chronic or acute. My therapist whom I have had two complete session so far was Vasily Salov . A very professional therapist , thorough in his initial evaluation and knowledgeable in manipulation and massage of my muscular problems. I had been having radiculopathy in my right lower back and leg for the last two months , not being completely helped by my usual chiropractic doctor , so it was recommended that I see someone for neuromuscular work in the area above. After my first treatment , Vasily was able to pinpoint the the muscular problem and was able to manipulate accurately the sets of muscles of back and lower extremity that needed to be stretched and released with series of active massage and flex ion . That evening I was able to relax and enjoy a restful sleep . I was given instructions for home exercise and follow up. Today's visit consisted of various flexions , stretches and massage and I can honestly say the improvement is very close to 100% and am very satisfied with the knowledge and professional, kiapproach of Vasily Salov. I will see him in 2 weeks and am very confident that by then , I will have found complete relief . Thank you to Castrell Neuromuscular Therapy and Vasily ! read more

This is my to go place to fix body pains. I've been helped to cope with lumbar spine disk issue, cervical spine pain, shoulder, knee, and more. Croft is amazing manual therapy specialist and his knowledge of anatomy, body mechanics, and effective techniques saved me numerous times. I've only been working with Croft but heard positive feedback about other therapists at his office too. Highly recommended! read more

In 2019, I had a lumbar microdiscectomy surgery, at my L5/S1. The surgery was to be routine, but there was a complication. The material from my herniated disc had pretty much glued on to a nearby nerve, requiring 45 minutes of meticulous work on the surgeon's part to remove without damaging the nerve. While the surgery solved the sciatica issue, I now had a new type of pain and, unbeknownst to me, a long recovery ahead. While my body tried to heal, other muscles compensated for the lumbar/pelvic area that was incredibly inflamed. As a result, for the last three years, almost my entire back, glutes, hamstrings and quads have been extremely tight, stiff and painful. I have tried many things: physical therapy, myofascial therapy, active release therapy, massage, and muscle relaxants. I found them all to be temporary fixes, unfortunately. I started seeing Vasily five weeks ago, and already there has been vast improvement that seems to hold. Progress IS being made, and we seem to keep building on it each week. This is no spa massage, and there are exercises and stretches that I must do at home, but I am willing to do whatever it takes to permanently move past the tight muscles and ligaments and I know I have found the right place to accomplish this. Thank you, Vas. You have restored my hope. read more

I was referred to Castrell by a few people and desperately needed work on my sciatica. I was lucky enough to be seen by Vasily. I was amazed by the difference even one session made. This is not a relaxation massage. This is the place you go to to heal pain/movement issues. These people know what they are doing and I will go back again. Vasily is amazing and so very patient. So thankful for Castrell. read more

Vasily helped eliminate my nerve pain in my leg (sciatica, bad knee, etc.) better then a Chiropractor, Kaiser PT, a fancy PT etc. It's different and very effective (not a massage). Vasily is very skilled and patient. They're correcting the misalignments causing your pain/problem...I highly recommend, especially if you've tried other things. I feel a definite improvement after 3 sessions and will continue. 100% Worth it to remain pain free , prevent injury etc. read more

I've been coming here on and off for 4 years, for various sports injuries and muscle aches. This is THE place to come if you have a specific problem you need fixing. I've seen all of the therapists here and they all have an incredible knowledge of human physiology and biomechanics. They usually spend the first five minutes assessing your problem so that they can accurately diagnose the root problem (which is often different to what I thought it was!) and then the rest of the session is the most effective and targeted massage you can imagine. I always leave feeling 90-100% better and with some recommended stretches or exercises to help me correct whatever imbalance or weakness had caused the problem. I don't recommend many places, but these guys are truly excellent at what they do read more

I've had chronic headache and fatigue for many years and couldn't figure out the reason before I went to see Vasily. Even just after the first treatment I could tell that he was able to help my neck recover in a way that no one else had been able to. Immediately afterwards I had much more energy and my mind is clearer and my headache is almost gone. I've had many massage therapists working with different modalities and chiropractic treatments before but nothing that helped as dramatically and with long lasting relief as the treatments I had from Vasily. He was also very friendly and answered the questions I had about what was wrong with the vertebrae in my neck, showing me with a model spine he had in the office. Even though I'm from out of town, I was fortunately able to see Vasily a few times before I had to return home. Vasily kindly showed me where to find therapists with similar training he had so that I could get treatments if I continue to have problems once I returned home. Thank you Vasily! read more

Just go to Croft. You don't need a chiropractor, the problem is always the muscles. Sure you can get aligned, but the muscles will pull you right back out of alignment. I suppose you could use Croft and chiropractic. Just my opinion I guess. I tried a lot of things for pain in the past, but if I ever have a problem I'm going to Croft first. He finds exactly what's wrong and addresses the issue through so many different ways. Extremely intuitive, but works with you the whole time. Be prepared to get fixed :D read more

The best part of my week is after I have seen Vasily for an hour massage. I started seeing Vasily to manage my migraines but I immediately realized that Vasily could also help me with severe osteoarthritis of my neck and lower back. Now Vasily is helping me rehabilitate after a total knee replacement of my left knee, and is preparing me for my upcoming surgery to totally replace my right knee. I have seen many, many massage therapists over the years and Vasily is undoubtedly the best! Amazing is the right word indeed. I had to book a 30 minutes session because I really needed help sooner than the first one hour session available. In such a short time Croft was able to take note of all challenges in my body and help me with my pain. I left feeling much better (pain reduced 80%) and able to move much easier. I was more flexible than I was in years! Next day I felt even better. Can't wait to go back to work on some old chronic stuff. Thank you so much! read more

Croft was a "God send" when my hip & back pain got so bad (due to a previous labral tear & back injury) I was literally bed ridden! My S.I.L. found Croft on line, after researching & reccomending Neuromuscular/Myofacial Therapy, sinc here husband had tried it and gotten relief. Literally, All I could do was lie flat in bed, and take pain meds, that only 'knocked me out." but didn't relieve the pain. [A bit of history: My pain has been getting progressively worse since a WC injury. WC has had me on meds for 2.5 yrs. to no avial., and have only delayed matters. This time, my back & hip went into such bad spasm, it ran up & down my left side, from the base of my neck to my toes. The pain was a paralyzing pain with pins and needles. I had to go to ER. ER only pumped me up more with meds., and sent me home, telling me to see my pain Dr. (just sending me back into the WC maze.) My experience with WC has been HELL, to say the least. I'm still not sure they'll pay for this therapy, but I was at point I'd try anything to relieve my pain.] I have had many massages, in the past, but they only helped temporarily, and the pain would eventually come back. Also many of the masseuses I'd see never seemed to "pin point" the actual source of the pain. Croft evaluated me, and knew right away where to start to begin relieving my pain. He seemed to find the knots and pain points easily, and he worked his Magic. NOTE: The Neuromuscular Therapy is Intense, and painful, but WELL Worth It !! The Best Part, is Croft actually makes House Calls!! I can't say I'm totally cured, but I am now able to get out of bed and walk. I still have a ways to go, and need to see a back & hip specialist, but Croft got me off using the morphine and oxycodone I needed, to just not cry, from the pain. I highly reccomend Croft. He has "magic hands" that can find the pain points, without having to constantly tell him where they are. Thanks Croft, for helping me get out of bed! (^-^) read more

His different technique and careful attention solved several muscular problem in my elbow and neck. In one and half year - I always felt pain or strain in my right forearm. After seeing Croft I felt again how it feels to be painless. Well pain use to come back after working on laptop, but for few days after his visit it was awesome feeling. Croft excels at finding the root of the problem and then addressing it. I came to him because of debilitating hip pain. Every step hurt. After one treatment, I felt so much relief. After three, the pain was completely gone. And Croft gave me stretching exercises to do to keep the area free from pain going forward. I was so pleased with the outcome that I decided to work on other nagging issues with Croft. Now I have full mobility in my neck, which I haven't had for a long time. Without fail, I feel better when I leave than when I arrive. He helps me stay in top form so I can run, ride and swim as much as I like (which is a lot!) I cannot praise the work of Jillina Barrera enough for the treatment she provided to me. My doctor told me that this treatment was my last hope because nothing else worked. I tried physical therapy, occupational therapy and acupuncture as well as a surgical consult. The surgeon was afraid they would do more damage than good in the long run. I have a large concentration of built-up scar tissue in my inner elbows that causes pain with almost every movement. Jillina started with a full understanding of my history and injuries so that she could hone in on the exact cause of the pain and determine a treatment plan that would work. After just one session I already started to feel a difference. Now I've completed 12 sessions and the pain level has decreased and she has given me my comfortable life back. Jillina brought me peace in just a few short months that all the other treatments couldn't touch after more than 2 years. Thank you Jillina. read more

Where do I begin! I have been going to Vasily weekly since September. I have suffered form chronic neck, shoulder and hip pain for many years (around a decade). I have tried many treatments - chiropractor, pt, massage etc. and nothing has worked as well as my sessions with Vasily. He is extremely knowledgeable, and with every session I learn a little bit more about the way my body functions and how I can best support it (If you have a session with him, ask questions, you will learn a lot too!). The exercises and stretches that he gives me have been very helpful for maintaining between treatments. Recently, I had a muscle spasm that left me unable to move my neck (these have been a regular occurrence for me for a while). I did the exercises and stretches that Vasily had given me over the weekend and he fit me in for a short notice appointment on Monday. After the appointment my pain was relieved and a few days later I was back to almost full range of motion. This is the fastest I have recovered, usually this take at least 2+ weeks. My sessions with Vasily are not only helpful during the treatment, but my body is also healing, repairing and becoming more resilient. I have been able to return to more physical activity and keep up with my busy 1 year old, which has been the sweetest reward. I am so thankful I found Castrell Neuromuscular Therapy. I only wish I had found them sooner! It has been one of the best investments in my health. read more

I initially saw Croft for chronic migraine pain and had such a transformative release from pain that when I injured my achilles tendon I immediately returned to him. This is not your regular massage. It's a clinical treatment based upon a detailed assessment of your body (its muscular limitations, holding patterns & imbalances) performed at each session. You get a highly customized treatment each & every time. I recommend you buy a package--your body will appreciate it. You will regain lost or restricted movement, increased flexibility, improved postural alignment and if you're like me, you might even return to activities you thought were lost to you! Croft has an amazing command of anatomy and a gift for feeling what's not right in the body AND being able to correct that. He uses his knowledge and skills to heal and not bring about more trauma to your body (a skill not all CMTs have or properly understand). Highly recommend. read more
