If I was to rate the magical hands of Zemi alone, there is no doubt that my experience would deserve 5 stars (it is strictly due to the fried billing guidelines that I have reduced the given rating to 4 stars). I have searched up and down the California coast at Massage Envy for an elite massage therapist. At one point I even ventured into the underground realm of massage therapy, where oncoming therapists could be heard by the clickity clackity, ergonomically questionable stiletto heels they were wearing. By shear luck alone, I finally came across Zemi. Her knowledge of the muscular system and respective muscle synergies puts even my De Anza A&P teacher to shame. She is immensely skilled at her craft and equally friendly. Unsurprisingly so, she is often booked at least 1-2 weeks in advance, so that is something to obviously keep in mind (especially if you're an impulsive procrastinator like myself). Reserve your next massage with the legendary Zemi; your body will surely thank you for it.

CRITICAL SAFETY AND FRAUD WARNING FOR CUSTOMERS…read more Do not get a membership here. I was a loyal member for over a year, visited weekly, and left multiple 5-star reviews on Google and Yelp--until a massage therapist physically injured me and caused chronic upper and lower right back pain that I have been suffering from for months. During the session, the therapist made me deeply uncomfortable and used aggressive physical force that resulted in a real injury. I tried to handle my departure gracefully by canceling quietly, but the front desk convinced me to freeze the account instead. They then ran an unauthorized charge on my card a day EARLY the following month claiming I didn't fill out an electronic form although I called and canceled with all of my information and ask them to please not charge me again because I would not be going back anytime soon considering my injury. When I called to confront them about this fraudulent charge, an employee named Dominique was incredibly condescending and sarcastic. She actively lied to me, claiming no manager was available and that it would take "a week or so" for anyone to look into my situation. Management: Treating an injured, long-term loyal customer like an open wallet is a massive liability. I truly hope to hear back from management or owners for confirmation of my membership termination, and immediate contact from the franchise owner.

Now, she isn't going to be everybody's cup of tea, especially if you're expecting a relaxing pampering massage to fall asleep. I appreciate that type of massage, but this time I came in with acute back pain. She honed in and went right to it. Honestly, at first it seemed rougher, but it was clear her expertise provided the relief I needed. I did not even mention any other pain points but as she worked, she identified three other pain areas that I've been dealing with for months. That's how I knew she has a keen understanding of how the body should move and feel, and the skill to guide my muscles/fascia back to where they should be to be able to function properly and without pain. She adjusted her technique as she felt my body could tolerate (e.g. she threw in some Thai massage technique to lengthen and stretch at the end). After 60 minutes, my pain levels reduced significantly from 7/10 to 2/10. I couldn't believe it! My heel pain of six months was gone! I wish I could give her 1 Million Stars! 5 Stars is not enough for how gifted of a healer and deep tissue massage therapist Galena is! If you are in pain and need to be fixed for real by someone who understands anatomy and soft tissue injury she's your girl. I had a really bad pinched neck that went from behind my head all the way down the left side of my neck and then down my shoulder. I could not turn my head and it was excruciating. I was hesitant to go to a chiropractor because I was fresh out of surgery head and neck surgery and was not supposed to be lifting things, but I had some really bad movers (Triple 7 Movers out of Vegas) break a lot of my stuff and just throw it in piles and leave, so I was attempting to move boxes out of the way so I could walk around my house and I pinched my neck so bad that I could barely walk. I text Galena late at night around 10 PM because I was in so much pain and she text me back immediately and got me right in the next morning and was able to stop the pain in one session! If you are worried about going to someone new, she is safe, professional, highly skilled and can help you if you are badly injured or post op. She also is very wise and gave me a lot to ponder about. She is my new go to massage therapist and friend. I can't say enough great things about her, I'm so glad I found her and you will be too! read more

As a healthcare professional myself, I truly appreciate Galina's thorough assessment, detailed feedback, and exceptional professional quality.
