These guys are just great! Time after time they have shown they are honest, capable and have integrity. Our most recent experience with them was for our 2016 Honda Civic, which had an A/C issue. This took several tries to figure out what was wrong as it wasn't clear cut. Once it was determined it was the condenser, Ron got the part quickly and we got our car back within a day (at 1/2 the price we would have paid the Honda dealer). Awesome, honest repair business. I had my 2002 4Runner towed there for a second opinion on a break master cylinder issue. They did a full diagnostic and gave us an honest opinion about the cost and future of this 234,000 mile vehicle. No sales pitch or "you should do this" approach. My wife handled the whole thing and they gave her full respect as a women. Katie, in the office, and Ron, the owner, are a delight to work with. It is so hard to find a trustworthy and decent mechanic that is also affordable and I have to say that this place is all of them. I needed a terminal replaced for my battery and we had called three other places that said they would not do it. My boyfriend took my car in without an appointment and they saw him right away and had my car good as new in no time. Awesome service! I called this morning and spoke to very nice lady on the phone to schedule an appointment for a tune-up and oil change. They told me to come in same day and took great care of me. Ron and team were also able to replace an engine mount along with some tire maintenance. I was quoted higher than what the actual total ended up being. Wow...no one has reviewed this awesome, family owned and operated car repair service? Hard to believe. They tell you the truth, stand behind their work, and fix your car on time. They don't bring you in and start the up sell. They want you as a customer for life. I typically shy away from these type of commitments, but you have to have 3 things in life nearby where you live: 1) a reliable car repair shop, 2) a good, inexpensive italian restaurant, 3) a sports bar with adequate tvs for Sunday football. read more

I took my car in because it was overheating. I figured it was going to be something expensive. Ron, the mechanic, says it probably just needs a little fluid. What mechanic has ever tried to save you money? It ends up being a little more extensive repair because of a leak but the whole team is honest and up front. I also know that what they are fixing needs to get fixed. Imagine my surprise when I get home from work and I'm walking past my car when I hear a loud THUD. I go to investigate and realized my 2005 Honda Civic was all of a sudden missing the window that was just there moments ago. In all fairness, the window stopped working years ago, but the glass stayed in place - until this fateful day. I knew that I was finally going to have to pay to get it fixed. I taped the glass up overnight and decided to deal with it the next day (Thursday). I called Castner's on Thursday morning and told them the situation. They said I could drop the car off Friday morning before work and leave my keys in the dropbox and so that is what I did. I received a call in the early afternoon with a price estimate that seemed to be fair and decided to go through with the repair. However, Castner's also went above and beyond and investigated why my check engine light was on and also gave me some information surrounding that issue and a price quote for free. I had called around to several dealerships concerning the check engine light being on and NONE of them would even look at it without a $125+ estimate fee. Castner's called me around noon on Friday and let me know that my window was already fixed. I picked up my car after work without issue. It's been a few months now and my window is still working great. I will most certainly be coming back to Castner's for all of the issues that my car has - and they are endless :) read more

If you want an HONEST auto repair place then Castner's Auto Service is the one! I had another auto repair place tell me that my 3 year old transmission in my CTS needed to be replaced. I went to Ron Castner for a second opinion. He told me it was most likely my brakes that where causing a miscommunication with my wheel module because of the shaking when I applied the brakes and I needed to replace one gasket spark plug tube seals, spark plug & Ignition coil So instead of $5,000 to replace a perfectly good transmission. It only cost me $1,200 that included turning rotors replacing pads, and other brake stuff. AND then I still had a hard down shift when going downhill and applying my brakes. THIS IS THE BEST PART, I went back to Castner's and Ron said "your brakes still don't feel right, I stand behind my work" so he then replaced my rotors, pads, caliper.pad hardware reline front and rear brakes, and other stuff AT NO ADDITIONAL COST!!! YES CASTNER'S STANDS BEHIND THEIR WORK. I HIGHLY recommend them. read more

My husband and I took our car because I'd heard recommendations from others. We parked in the street. They refused to work on my car for a couple reasons that I consider ridiculous. He asked how many other cars are in my family. Strange but I answered. The others are under warranty so the work is done by the dealer(thank the lord for dealers that take care of your car and don't charge for the service). He said he preferred to work on the entire families cars. Then he didn't want to repair my old car. He didn't ever ask what was wrong with it, he never even saw the car. I thought it very strange that a qualified mechanic wouldn't work on a Chevy V-8 that is one of the most prevalent engines in the country. Never asked what was wrong, didn't even look at the car and didn't want my business. read more
