Ordered the fish and chips. In an area of fresh fish, this dish was underwhelming. The 'chips' were wedge potatoes which were each a quarter of a russet potato so felt more like eating a baked potato than fries.

Great pint!

Order was a baked brie, French onion soup and beef stew. Also a black and tan. The beer was perfectly poured and as expected. The baked brie was about 1/4 wheel served with bread, honey and apples. It was warmed and tasted pretty good. French onion soup was very generic buy not bad. You're probably wondering why this got a 2 star.... the beef stew was extremely lacking. Literally, 5 small pieces of beef, 5 tiny potatoes, 1 tiny carrot and 1 tiny piece of celery in a thin gravy. It was supposed to be (and was priced as) a meal, but it scored about 10% as a soup. I wouldn't have served this to my mother-in-law.

It was ight good ambiance and pretty lowkey but the food was pretty meh. Nothing really special to write home about and I couldn't tell why the Irish Burger was Irish

Best bar, best karaoke night, ever ever ever. A gem to duck into on the middle of a tourist strip.

My wife and I stopped in for a quick drink while waiting for Lyft to arrive. Definitely closer to a college bar. Ok for a standard beer.

McGarvey's Saloon & Oyster Bar -- Thursday, February 19, 2026…read more When a very frequent visitor (Jen's friend Aimee) gives you a dinner recommendation in Annapolis, you don't debate -- you comply. It's technically the off-season, and the weather was auditioning for "Biblical Flood: The Musical." Torrential. On. Off. Repeat. The streets were quiet, with rushing waters down to the harbot but hunger doesn't care about precipitation. Jen opened with the 50/50 chowder -- a bold Maryland move -- and then went full commitment with lump crab cakes. No hesitation. No leftovers. Just focused execution. Meanwhile, I had shown remarkable restraint on this multi-state run by not ordering fish and chips anywhere. Not once. Thursday night? Discipline ended. Ordered it. Crispy batter, flaky fish, exactly what I'd been waiting for. I kept it simple with an Aviator Lager -- no notes. And because we believe in finishing strong, we split a slice of Smith Island Chocolate Cake. If you're in Maryland and skip that move, you're doing it wrong. Rainy night. Off-season. Zero regrets. Aimee was right.

We had the blackened fish tacos, carne asada platter, and beer from their decent selection. Service was fast and friendly on a busy day. They added patriotic lights and banners to the historic decor which was nice for the 4th.

It always has fresh seasonal toppings, add your protein of choice (fresh fish of the day?) and it is the best salad in town. It's excellent... ...wings are great also, always have good soups, daily specials, drinks, etc. they have a lot of outside dog-friendly seating as well. It should just become your regular stop year 'round.

ABOUT THE AMBIANCE…read more Love the consistent, lively vibe at this Eastport restaurant/bar - seven days a week, it is sure to be clamoring with locals who pull-up by kayak and dingy (a 100-yd walk for the neighborhood dock) or walk in from homes nearby. Davis' is both people and dog friendly, allowing both species to chat it up, socialize and refuel. The outside sports a dozen a so picnic-style tables and a few high tops that bleed into the street. Shade is omnipresent once seated and servers kindly offer up water for your four-legged friends. There's a cozy park with seating just across the street from the hostess stand for those eagerly awaiting a table, right by the community dock. The inside of Davis' Pub is distinctly "bar" - replete with TVs and high tops - though there's a surprisingly large area for table service beyond the often-crowded bar. Don't expect anything slick or shiny here -- a fresh coat of paint may be tough to find. This is an authentic, worn Eastport treasure -- some use it as their comfortable watering hole, others for a cozy meal and a large swath to gather with friends.

West End Grill Great Food, Outstanding Service…read more Stopped into West End Grill and had a genuinely great experience from start to finish. Started with the cream of crab, which was rich, hot, and perfectly seasoned , smooth, comforting, and exactly what you hope for when you order it. What really made the night, though, was Jenna. She was both the hostess and our server, and she absolutely nailed it. Friendly, attentive, and professional without ever hovering. She set the tone the moment we walked in and kept everything running smoothly the entire meal. When the service is that good, it elevates the whole experience and that's exactly what happened here. Jenna was the star on top of an already solid meal. Easy 5 stars. Would happily come back.

I am glad we did. First off, looks can be deceiving. Part of the reason I've never come here before is because from outside, it looks like a dodgy sports bar. And while the inside is most definitely for sports fans, with plenty of memorabilia and TVs, imagine my shock when I got a taste of the service, the food, and the overall vibe of the establishment. Our server was a very nice young woman who did a great job of checking on us without coming off as overeager. My brother and I aren't big drinkers, but that didn't dissuade her from not giving us as much attention as other patrons with bigger tabs. I ordered the french dip and my brother got boneless wings tossed in the honey old bay sauce. This is definitely elevated bar food (with great portion sizes to boot): my sandwich had freshly baked bread and came with fresh cut fries and a savory au jus. My brother commented and said his wings tasted like they were battered and fried to order. The prices are moderate -- given the level of service, the taste of the food, and the portions, we definitely felt like we got our money's worth. I'm happy to add this to place to my rotation -- just proof once again that sometimes the best places are the most unassuming!

When we can get down…read morehere from the Columbia MD area, we love to dine and drink and enjoy the 4-days-per-week live music at this "Coffeehouse Winebar and Gallery". This time, in April 2025, we arrived around 7pm, and found parking in a garage about a block away, though with better timing we might have parked right out front on West St. This was intentionally a little early for their 8pm live show, and we found a table in the front window, with fun people-watching, and walls lined with a gallery of local artists' works. One of the regulars suggested their generous creative 49 West Salad of fresh greens, cucumbers, tomato, and red onion, with blueberries, apples, almonds, and gorgonzola cheese! An exciting flavor experience! They also, steered us right on 49's Reuben sandwich, with traditional house-made tender juicy corned-beef and melted swiss, with house-made Russian sauce on soft marble rye, with the sauerkraut substituted at my request by house-made creamy cole-slaw. A rich delicious messy sandwich! And well-made drinks: a refreshing lemony minty fizzy Mizuwari with Baraky Japanese whiskey, and their Old Fashion 49 which includes some orange-y Grand Marnier. Both were creative strong and flavorsome takes on classics. Of course they also have a broad ranging menu, especially after 5pm. When the back room opened, we sipped our drinks (and got refills :-) while swaying to one of our favorite musicians, Tom Mitchell, playing this evening with Jim Stephanson as the talented and versatile Blue Rhythm Boys: Jazz, Western Swing, Blues and more, for a $15 cover. It was fun to hear them riff off classics and off of each other, mixing in stories and reminiscences, and this evening sweetly dedicating some to a friend's 75th (more or less) birthday. You just feel at home with them, and we do seek out Tom's performances, and then seek out his fellow musicians next gigs, too, as far off as Columbia and Rockville! A wonderful relaxing evening, with friendly efficient staff, good food, nice locals, and great music.
