We have been coming here for 15 years. Use to be a cute little amusement park. $39.00 each ticket and bought 6. 6 major rides were down or not working, basically just the kiddie rides were open. No refund allowed. Don't waste your time unless you are coming for miniature golf. Park is past it's prime and easy to see the grounds look dirty and rides run down. Use to be an enjoyable experience. Time to knock it down and build condos on the land! read more

Took my family here to celebrate birthdays. We decided to go in the evening since Riverside is super hot in the summer and their website said they closed at 10pm. We arrived at 5 thinking we had so much time ... they kicked us out of the park at 7pm so disappointing to pay for a day at the park and only given 2hrs... if there are summer hours, customers should be informed... This park is very expensive and the mini-golf is run down. Gave it two because the Ghost Ride is fun and even amused this 67 year old woman. I had taken family visiting there and frankly very expensive for mini-golf that is hard to play because of ripped up courses (literal had to have one person hold up the outdoor carpet to play through one. We had a great time! I went with my two littles (age 3 & 5). I was surprised with the amount of rides they were able to go on! No one missed out. We went on a Saturday around 1pm and the lines weren't too long (especially the little kid rides). The FAQ didn't list whether or not wagons or strollers were allowed into the park, but they ARE allowed, in case you were wondering (we had our wagon). I think their favorite part might've been the fact that Daniel Tiger was there. They had a dance party, story time, and a (short) meet & greet opportunity with him and Katerina Kitty throughout the day. Overall, I'm glad we came. I was going to go earlier this year but I held off because I was surprised that I would have had to pay for my 3 year old (often times 3 and under is free at other places), but since she's over 36" tall and was able to go on the same rides as her brother, it made sense that we'd have to pay. This place is great!! Especially for the price. I'm not so sure why it has so many negative reviews. I think people like to be picky. My experience in all areas (rides, golf, arcade, water park, and magic show) have all been super fun!! We have a 5, 7, and 13 year old and they all love it. There's something to do for everyone. The entrance is a more than fair price but will say the food is a little pricey (but what amusement park's food isn't?) There are a lot of youth running the park but none have been rude, on the contrary, they've been friendly and helpful. I HIGHLY recommend watching the magic show. It's really cool how it's part of the entrance fee. My littles were surprised, laughed, and overall LOVED IT!! (Us adults too!) We have annual passes and bought 1 pass to include the parking. WHAT!? 2.6 STARS!? This theme park deserves way more! I went to this place for my fifth grade school field trip and it was such a blast with my friends. The ship one was so fun however it's scary because the lap bar feels loose as if you'll fly out. The Dragon Tower was pretty scary but also fun, I also really loved Merlin's Revenge except it kept getting stuck so boohoo. I actually think Merlin's Revenge is better than Flight Of The Hippogriff at Universal because this one is longer and actually goes two times. My short friend LOVED the scrambler, and it is fun it feels like you're zooming through the air and about to crash but then you save yourself. Pizza was good, and it was very fun. I would recommend this park to people who love theme parks but can't afford to go. Admission is like maybe 50$ for me and my mother since it's just us and I don't have a dad. read more

Our annual passes were the best purchase we've made this year! So much fun for the whole family. Huge miniature golf, nice arcade and of course the rides!! Last night was the first night of Castle Dark and we had an AMAZING time! The scare actors roaming the park were on point and really gave it 100% The clown maze was so much fun and great jump scares. It got even better the 2nd time we went in. Now please don't compare this event to the bigger amusement parks with those bigger budgets! Think of these mazes as family friendly home haunts. But be prepared because these scare actors take their jobs serious and they're awesome at it! I love this place!! Come here with an open mind lol This place is exactly what I imagined the "local theme parks" that you see in movies would be like lol. Some of the rides that were open were nice, even some of the janky rides. Took my nephews and niece and they all had fun (ages 5-11). For what it is, it's a cool place. We were suggested not to eat their food, to eat before or after you are there. It didn't seem like alot of people there were ordering food from any of the stands besides the fried Oreo area. The littles are 5 and 2 year old boys who are discovering their love of video games. I highly recommend visiting the arcade during the week to beat the crowds. Plus, parking is free during the week. Also, they offer a unlimited play card for $5 for an hour. If you can't purchase at Kiosk see an employee. This play card is limited to what games you can play. We went on all the rides like 5 times ! It's really worth your money ! We are coming back!

Second time here, and both times were to gather some kids here for a day of rides and fun. Most rides are timid, designed for the younger ones. Only a few are on the wilder side. It's a small park so it's fairly easy to navigate and go through most of the rides. Several of the rides for the younger ones are similar, just with different colors and themes. The lines are much shorter than say Disneyland or Universal, some as little as a few minutes to about 15 for the thrill rides. The park closes certain sections depending on weather (ie. Water during cold temps). Summer time gets very hot and winter gets quite cold, so dress accordingly. Backpacks are allowed so it's easy to bring extra layers or use it to hold clothing. Outside food & drinks are not allowed but no one checks for snacks. Besides rides, there are the ubiquitous carnival rip-off games that you play for prizes. Food options are littered throughout the park, but I never purchased any here, so can't comment on how good or lousy they are. There are park maps posted throughout so you're never lost. Castle Park is a great place for little kids who are easily entertained. It's very affordable, has short lines, parking is easier and parents don't need to spend upwards of several hundred bucks just to wait in hour long lines. Recommended for a quick day of simple fun. Notes: * parking is $10. Pretty short walk to the entrance even if you're 'far away' * buy your tickets online to save $$, gain access to their miniature golf course and avoid the long line and go straight to the entrance. * check their website for information on annual passes. Well worth it if you're within a decent drive away and want to entertain kids. * restrooms are near the train station. Check the map for location, and other ones. Recently came to golf with my young son and we had a nice time. We arrived right when it opened and it was empty, as the time went on a few more people arrive but there was never more than 10 people. We golfed 3 of the 4 courses and it was fun. There were a few places where the green was pulled up but not too much. We didn't play in the arcade but they do have a great arcade with a lot of fun games, we'll be back just for the arcade next time. The only thing I would make note of is I read online that if the park/rides are closed, you do not need to pay for parking. When I purchased my tickets online, I was given the option to pay $15 for parking which I almost did not knowing I didn't need to. I'm not sure if the system would've allowed me to actually pay for it, but I'm glad I didn't. Courses have lots of stairs and a lot of walking up and down so that's something to be aware of. I bought my 14 year old son a ticket to go to Castle Dark tonight. He planned on going with his 19 and 20 year old uncles and was turned away because his uncles weren't 21 and over. I called to speak to an employee because when you buy the tickets online, nowhere on that page does it say you have to have a chaperon, it DOES say though. Not recommended for 13 and under. When I asked the employee to walk me through where to find that rule on their site, he put me on hold to find it himself. You literally have to dive deep into the site to find the chaperon policy. So to make sure my son went, I bought a ticket for myself and walked in with him. They didn't have me sign a paper stating I was with him nor did they check my ID. His uncle is 20 (will be 21 in March) I don't understand what a 5 month difference makes in bringing in my son. They were only open for 3 hours and my son only got to experience it for 2 because of this. What a money grab!!! Will not be spending money here ever again. This place was wonderful! My boyfriend and I really wanted to play some mini gold for the day so we made the long drive from LA to Riverside to go to this place since places like this are still closed at home. It was honestly worth the drive just for the mini golf alone. There are 4 different 18-hole courses, each one different from the other and we had such a great time. The snacks also weren't too expensive relative to usual amusement park snacks. Social distancing is enforced with lots and lots of hand sanitizer stations. Bathrooms are clean. I just had to take off one star because some of the putting green on the courses have gotten pretty mangled and janky over time but other than that we'd do it all over again :) read more

Its a good deal for being local and not as busy as the big parks. The four mazes are good enough and youll get that HALLOWEEN experience. Just look out for some of these kids running the mazes. Castle park has to step up their training. Their seasonal employees can get cocky and arrogant. There's a dude with long hair in charge of the Seance maze. Absolutely rude and unprofessional. This was probably his first managerial gig. After this season he should be back at the regular burger joint making fries. read more

I've heard of Castle Park for a long time, but it never crossed my mind to visit this place. Usually when I want to visit a theme park I'd choose Disneyland, Universal Studios or Legoland. Since Disneyland is crazy expensive now and the other ones aren't far behind, I wanted to find a place that's decent priced to attend. Castle Park suddenly popped into my head and I came on yelp to read the reviews. The low ratings kind of discouraged me to go, but I saw that they are currently running a promotion of $100 for 4 tickets that includes unlimited rides, mini golf and a parking pass. At $25 a person including parking, this sure beats paying an arm and a leg for Disneyland. I knew it could not compare to Disneyland, but I looked through they rides they have and found that most are something I would enjoy, plus the mini golf and the magic show. Before I bought the tickets, I made sure to check which rides were not operating and it was the log ride and merry go round. Ok, no problem I can live without riding those. I went on a Saturday morning and got there around 11:30. Buying tickets only saves sometime, but they do charge $1.50 convenience fee per ticket. They checked bags and you walk through metal detector. They only had 1 person doing that and took a few minutes because there was another group ahead of us. When we decided to walk around and find the rides we like. Walked by 3 rides, there was a sign that said it's not open today. Continued walking and found bumper cars, same sign that says it's not open. Walked by food places, it wasn't open. Walked by a few more rides and saw the same signs. Uh oh, did we just come on a bad day or what?? Why is everything not open? I stopped some workers and they told me that most of the rides open at noon. Whew!! I was about to go complain and ask for a refund if 90% of rides aren't open. So we decided to do mini golf first while we wait for the rides to open. There are 4 courses at mini golf. Courses 1 and 2 are the easier ones and courses 3 and 4 are more intermediate. We started at course 1 and spent about an hour. Then checked the watch and noticed it was almost 1 PM. We rushed out to the rides we wanted to ride and there were barely any lines. Basically you just walk right up and sit on the ride. Hey, I can't complain since this beats waiting an hour or more at Disneyland rides. We were able to go on quite a few rides before lunch. We decided to buy food at Duke's Frying Factory. It is located near the entrance of the park. I got 2 orders of the chicken tenders and fries. I had wanted to try Al's Big Top BBQ, but I didn't realize you had to go inside the restaurant to order, maybe next time I'll try it since the menu looked pretty good. So back to the chicken tenders, it took a while to get the food. I didn't have high hopes that it would taste good. I thought it was going to be hard and dry, but to my surprise the fries and chicken tenders were not hard, dry and overcooked. Although a little pricey at $12, it was surprisingly good (or we were just too hungry). After lunch, we went to some more rides but this time there were a lot more people and the lines are long. Most people like to come after 3 or 4 PM. Then we went back to mini golf to pick up where we left off and we had stayed till about 8pm and were able to finish course 2. By this time, the mini golf was packed, people were waiting for clubs I assume. Overall, it was an enjoyable day. The family 4 pack tickets were well worth it. This is a good deal if you have young kids that don't like to wait in long lines or if you enjoy rides and mini golf. I would definitely come back to finish courses 3 and 4 at mini golf. The park has its own Kevin the peacock. Don't miss him.. he's usually near the Railroad Express ride and the entrance to the arcade/mini golf TIPS: 1. Come early to avoid the crowds and long lines, but not when they just open unless you want to mini golf first. 2. Check their website to see which rides are under refurbishment. 3. Beginning May 6th, the park is going cashless. You can use debit card, credit card, apple pay, Google pay and Samsung pay. If you have cash, there will be a machine where you deposit money in and you will get a prepaid card with no fees. 4. Call and confirm if they will have magic show on the day you plan to attend. I went with my girlfriend earlier, had a great time at the mini golf course until 3 of our balls got stuck in the 11th hole. The courses seem rundown af and dirty. A lady with her son were walking back and she told us their balls had gone missing so they're calling it a day. save ur $$ this shit was a waste of time. At least make it worth my time and money, u guys seem to know that ur golf courses are old as hell, that's why there's employees consistently checking if there's any balls stuck in the tubes. Took my 13 year old son there with 6 of his friends for his birthday. It was good fun. Cheap and easy way to spend the day. Just know that all the workers there are in high school. Not a problem except for the BBQ restaurant in the big circus tent. God bless them, but they don't know wtf they're doing back there. No direction until I stood there and kept reminding them what I ordered (the hamburger family meal) and even had to direct them how to make it. Finally got to eat after nearly an hour after ordering. SMH Just note that you're better off eating a corn dog or at the little Pizza Hut spot. Miniature golf was great, just starting to get a little worn out. Didn't go in the arcade, but it looked cool. Still had fun but there weren't much helpful explanations of which holes path was the best as I've seen in other courses. Also, there were literal missing parts/gaps of the course where my ball got stuck and couldn't hit from (like there used to be something there but was removed). Still had fun overall though. I had three years premium Disneyland annual passes (2013-2016) and decided not to renew this year. Disneyland for me, hubby and two paying kids, annual passes raking up to $4000 which is very expensive and everytime we got there we got so exhausted. Even walking from parking lot to pass security check, got into tram, got inside the park, already took half of our energy. Plus fighting for crowds inside, standing about 30 min each rides, we just finally had enough. So now we tried Castle Park. I used to go to La Sierra University in Riverside so I always passed by Castle Park but never went in. NowI have three kids (5,4,2), we went to Castle Park twice. First visit was last year during winter when Bucaneer Cove was close, the other one was about two days ago where Bucaneer Cove was open. Okay let me start. Entrance fee: -buy at the gate which is about $2 more -buy online through Castle Park website prices ranging for about $12-25) -buy from Costco online $39.99 for four admission and you got to choose two attractions. This is the cheapest and the one that I bought -parking fee is $10. $7 if you buy online Attractions divides in three areas; Park with rides, Bucaneer Cove, Mini golf with arcade area. The ticket applies for kids 3 feet and up. Pay attention to the info section when buying online. The Dukes Duo you can pick two items (rides and golf, rides and bucaneer, bucaneer and golf). They also have tickets for all three or for unlimited golf, etc. Rides: Yes, like what some helpers mentioned, some of the rides are closed, even the restaurant and most of the snacks stand. Some rides have one staff, so if this ride have customer then he will open that ride. And close it again, and he will open the ride next to it if theres another customer too. Which is fine by me. Both times when we went (I was by myself with three kids), it was so easy to walk around with stroller, my kids can go to whatever rides thats open, no lines. Either its only my kids or with one or two of other kids. It was wednesday so I dont know how its gonna be if its the weekend. I decided to took the kids here for Bucanner Cove. In my mind it was like super mini Great wolf lodge or something. I brought inflatables for my two yrs old, 3 swimming body vests for all 3 kids, and embarrasingly there was no pool!! So it was mainly slides with water spraying everywhere! Theres a place to order pizza etc but you have to stand in line. Last year when we went here we stood in line for about 20 min and it was only 4 people ahead of us, we finally just took off. The bucaneer cove also doesnt have food service so you have to go outside the area to buy pizza. Theres good amount of chairs around it but I assumed it wont be enough chairs for parents to sit around waiting for the kids to be done playing in the water and slides. Cabana rental is $30 if u bought it two days in advance. I saw only two cabanas rented out and the rest were empty and when I inquired of renting it, ofcourse the teen staff in the "swim" stand said "its all booked for the day" So I guess if you dont get it in advance, they just gonna close the rental on the day. We got in at 2 pm, we were back in the car at 5 pm. It was enough for couple rides, one hour at bucaneer, and some more rides then getting back in the car. Last year when we went here, I saw another dad actually carrying a big knife on his belt. So even thou I like Castle Park for the price and the cool rides for my small kids, Im not sure how safe it usually is. read more

It doesn't look like much when you get in; they're in dire need of more employees as employee run multiple rides and ignore others. Don't expect great customer service as most the hires are seemingly miserable teens, they curse they smoke and they will bitch about the work environment right in front of you. The rides are old but you get what you pay for. The food is mediocre at best. The rides are very carnival like but fun, simple, and definitely old. My husband had called the coordinator Sales and her name is Vanessa. So my husband had explained the conversation and how it would benefit our family in getting season passes. So I was able to speak with Vanessa and she was very helpful over the phone. However the only complaint that I have was the system online because it was a bit complicated which it was taking me 4 hours and so I gave up and was super stressful because we were having a small party in joining us to celebrate our twins birthday! And thank God the following morning the Director called me and her name is Heather she honestly made it all happen because of the horrible experience of so many attempts of trying to get season passes for my family! I gave a 5 star because she went above and beyond to make things right!! As well as our host Jacob!!! He was super nice very attentive to us he was amazing best customer service!! Since it was our first time The director Heather also informed me the history behind castle park! Which was awesome to know and It's very similar to Knotts! They also have this circus room for the birthday parties and it's nice that they bring out games and the best deal they have is there party bash! And they have a entertainment show at 4:30pm! They also have a cute water play for kids! Even though I saw adult's getting wet too Lol! The ride operator asked someone else if he was qualified to work the ride and he took her spot. He put his key in the machine and started the ride.
