This was my first time back here in many years, but overall it was pretty good. After reading other reviews I expected some rides to be closed like they were. The mini golf courses could definitely use some TLC. My young kids loved the rides and it was hot so Bucaneer Cove was very refreshing and not too crowded. Glad we got a cabana. Most staff members were very friendly and pleasant, though Aldaire went above and beyond for the kids (and parents) and took our experience up a notch. Also the man running the dragon swing was entertaining even up until the last minute before closing. I am taking one star away because my email was NEVER ANSWERED from 3 weeks ago, and my Facebook message was also NEVER ANSWERED. Maybe management should look into that because those areas are important too. read more

Had the best amusement experience at Castle Park in Riverside, CA, yesterday. Affordable, clean, friendly employees, and not crowded. The kids went on at least 20 rides each in 4.5 hours. And it was 78 degrees. Perfect! They liked it more than Disneyland. Food was half the price of Disneyland too. read more

I grew up going to castle park with family and on school trips. I always had a really good time. Big arcade with decent amount of rides. The log ride has always been a favorite. The mini gold course is also really big and a lot of fun. read more

My 4 year old loved the rides, although rides kept closing so the workers could go open and run other ones. This place needs a major overhaul and some more staff so all rides can be open. Food was overpriced and parking was outrageous. The ticket prices themselves were good. 9.99 all day unlimited. My family had fun, I just wished more rides were open! read more

The few staff working today are VERY friendly, especially to small children. A lil dirty but what you expect for $9.99. Then again its not as dirty as Knotts. Decent enough to take small children who can't get on large rides. Still Kudos to the Staff!!! read more

The golfing was fun but going to the holes were a bit confusing and it's too late for me to comback to get the 500 tickets bc I live in Lancaster ca and I was visiting my grandparents and please add water to the mini golf just for better scenery and plz fix the confusing of the holes but this place does have a lot of potential and the mini golf holes are better than scandia which closedown and they also had potential so wanna end up like them then plz check the everything even the arcade machines bc what if a kid like 5 or 6 wins a lot of jackpots and wants a plushie like I was gonna try to get one for my little cousin as a late birthday gift so just check the arcade games at least once a week read more

What can I say....I've been coming here for 30 years now. I'm a life long Riverside resident. My dad took me when I was little. 30 years later, I bring my kids here. Sure it's not always perfect, but neither is Disneyland. I thoroughly enjoy the atmosphere and I've never had a bad encounter with any employees here. The annual passes and parking pass make this an affordable fun destination for my family. We love it. read more

I had not been here in years. Many things have changed. Some good, some bad. Fun for the kids. Easy carnival games (some), Arcade is way run down. Lots and lots of broken games. Even the ticket counter was broken. What do some people expect for $10. Most of the rides were working. Lines not that bad. Try going to Disneyland and shelling out $150 per person and then standing in line for over an hour for a ride! They should reinvest in the park, fix the place up, and raise the price. I bought a groupon a only spent about $11 for each of my tickets, so good price but... The place looks kinda rundown(maybe they are fixing it?), many rides not working(maybe they are fixing it?), the height requirements are ridiculous, and they make you take off tiny studs at waterpark side! My 5 year old son could not get on most rides(that he's been on at other parks) because their height requirements are ridiculous and he was totally upset and crying! My friends daughter had to take out her studs that she had her ears pierced with or she wasn't aloud on the water structure, so don't go there if you just had your ears pierced! So for the price I paid, it was good! My kids had fun and I might consider going again next year, when my son is taller and only if I get discounted tickets again! read more

The park is pretty run down which is sad because it's the only affordable place between Disneyland and Knott's which is why we go there. Their rides are very limited and usually all of them are not staffed so many times you can't ride them. Most of the rides and areas need paint or repair. Cracked concrete everywhere. Very expensive mediocre food. My husband and I go there to mini-golf. The course needs some repairs and refurbishing in areas but they are in the process of fixing that. They have four courses all of which are challenging and fun which is why we go there. One other down side is in the little kiddie area they don't have enough people staffing the rides so they alternate running a ride every 30 minutes. That's an eternity for a 3-year-old. One of the roller coasters is not operating which is a drag. Still having given the park a bad rap my 4 grandkids (ages from 3 to 11) enjoy it. We will probably buy passes for ourselves this year just for the mini-golf but will not buy them for the grandkids again. Although it's affordable they are usually bored because of the ride closures. Which is another beef of mine. They don't run the rides 7 days a week. The kids did enjoy buccaneer's cove but the older kids will be to big for the slides this year. :( read more

This can be a fun place if you don't mind old rickety rides and over crowded small spaces. I do suggest eating before entering the park since the concession lines are ridiculously LONG for mediocre food. We did though want to try the rib and chicken plate they had and after a 25 minute wait, they told us they were out of Cole slaw and corn so we had to double up on our baked beans and for $15 we got what looked like a kids meal! 3 dried up ribs the size of my finger a few tablespoons of beans and a nugget sized piece of corn bread. NEVER AGAIN!!!! The rides like I said, are "fun" just old and a lot smaller than your average knotts ride. They also have an arcade there with decent games BUT,...The claw machines are so rigged beyond belief! I'm a pretty good claw machine player and know which angles to use to try and pick up a prize or just move on and forget about it BUT, We tried several machines and I was able to pick up a few stuffed animal and right before it hit the roof of the machine we clearly saw the claw open about an inch and drop the toy. We tried it one more time and YUP, claw opens right before hitting the top and drops the toy. We won't be wasting our money on those again! ..They also have a mini bowling alley and a mini golf course... Overall It's an ok place to visit when you have nothing else to do. read more

We attended the park as a field trip with our 6th grade classes (over 140 total guest). We thought it was a great price and were excited to offer it to our students. It is unfortunate though that we did not get all that we were offered when planning our event. We were told we would get a free chaperone tickets for every 15 students, that did not happen. We were offered 3 meal choices, that was a joke. Several groups went to lunch at the same time, buffet style, we were not told they had to specifically request not to have pizza which was the only thing on the table and they ran out of certain food items. I would definitely not recommend this location for a field trip and will not use them in the future. read more

I remember going t o Castle Park in the 80's and 90's... It was amazing then with hundreds of arcade and pinball machines. Now it is a complete mess! Run down mini golf with only half the lights working and non running water. Big Ben Clock that use to be on the course is gone and a steel pole is left in it's place! Torn carpet. Only one person working that we could see in the hour we were there. Not one pinball machine remains and what few classic arcade games that are left do not work. Just really sad that the owner let this place go. Do us all a favor and restore this place like it once was or tear it down before someone gets hurt or dies on one of the rides. read more

Glorified carnival with "has been", broken down rides. To be fair, I think it is what it is and there's really nothing bad except that they, management, would like to think they're more than what they are. I took my two kids and their friends for a afternoon on the stocking stuffer deal. They actually expected me to pay to come in and supervise the kids , having no desire to ride these rides. Nope! We are agates amusement park with no way of knowing who is able to ride the rides. Question, why do you put wrist bands on your guests you morons ! My parents and I took all the kids, we got there about 1145, park opens at 12. We waited for a ride for about 45 mins. They said at 12 they were going to test the rides first then let people in. I couldn't understand why they wouldn't test them at 1130/1145 to make sure the rides open the same time the park does. Everything is over priced just like any park. One young white fuel who was operating one of the rides that goes straight up, got an attitude with me when I asked her a question. This park needs some work on it. Went to Castle park for the first time today. I had a lot of fun went on most of the rides. Did not have to wait long, the lines were short. It's a very reasonable price. It's a nice little park. Has miniature golf, few rides and nice little water park portion. It's very similar to adventure city in Buena Park just slightly bigger. I feel like the park has a lot of potential however it's been neglected over the years. Some of the rides seem a bit outdated and weren't working. The arcade was probably the most disappointing part of the park, many of the games were turned off and would get stuck easily. It was still a good time. read more

I recently took my kids to this park and I was pleasantly surprise how much fun we had. My kids enjoyed getting on the rides and the fact that they were short was one of the key features that I like the best since 4 years don't have a lot of patience waiting in long lines. My 12 year also enjoyed it. Perfect place to take the family and at a very decent price! I used to take my kids quite often to Disneyland and Knotts as I would usually get the annual passes, but since I moved to the IE this past December, I've been seeking closer places to go for 2-4 hours and I must say this is a great one! Had a great time here with my 12 and 6 year old. Purchased the Dukes Duo for 13.99 which includes unlimited mini golf and rides. They have 4, 18 hole mini golf courses. We only did 3 of them and they took about an hour each. Rides a are like old carnival rides and were fun for my boys. 4 out of five stars because we arrived first thing in the morning and there was still candy wrappers and soda cups on the golf course from the night before. Also the mini golf course is covered with seeds and leaves that should have been cleaned up. read more

Wow so disappointed in a staff member here. We are annual members and with that comes a coupon book which one of the coupons is a "bring in a guess for free". I decided to bring in a baseball buddy of my son to come and join us for some fun....... Well everything was going good until we went to the log ride, Annette was rude right of the bat as I asked if my son and his friend could ride in a log together because she insisted on having them two ride with my daughter and I. I wanted boys to be boys and ride themselves she agreed as she mumble. The ride finally was over and our guess exited the wrong way of the log and she flipped out telling him he needed to get back on and exit the other side, the kid was confused and didn't know what to do she finally told him to just exit where he was from and was huffing and puffing and decided to get on her Mic where another staff member sits on top where the big drop is at and started complaining about the "damn kid" keep in mind I was still sitting in our log and can hear and see everything she is doing. Other guess in the line about to go next even looked at her and were surprise on her reaction. When I got off and asked her for her name because you all need to beware of her very bad attitude, if she's still around my family of four will not renew our passes!! Keep in mind we come here a lot and have witness her bad attitude before but not with us. Im so pissed off right now as a day of fun has been ruin in less than an hour. This is a fun date night place. I took my girlfriend here a few months ago and we had a great time. It wasn't to crowded so we got to play golf without too many interruptions. The arcade is pretty big with a huge variety of video games. The only thing i would have to complain about would be the nasty staff that never announced that they were closing and turned off all the power in the arcade area and told us to leave. 8-2-2013 Took my daughter and grandsons for miniature golf. Very disappointed in the condition of the golf course. It is very run down. No water in some of the ponds or fountains. The Astroturf had holes in it and was coming up in places. A lot of the wooden post were broken. The parking lot was in poor condition with no directions on were to go. Not even a sign telling you where the entrance is. And then they even charge $6 to park. I've lived in Riverside most of my life and remember when Castle Park was new. What happened to it? read more

This place used to be a great place to take kids, but since I've gone back,they have really let this place go. Every time I go at least four or five of the good rides are shut down. When I ask an employee they just say you'll probably be open in an hour, but I went back to check and it wasn't open. If they figured out all the mechanical problems with these rides maybe things would change but for now this place is going down hill fast. read more

We visited the park for the first time since I was a kid on 3/28 for some rides and mini golf. We were VERY disappointed and will not be back. Only 2 out of 4 golf courses were open and the park was dirty with trash all over the ground. The two drink stands and restaurant we found were closed by 6pm and only one out of the three vending machines we encountered worked (one of the machines ate my $3.50). The only two places to get food or drink had ENORMOUS lines! The rides were ridiculously understaffed, unless there was a shift change happening, in which case there would be four castle park employees standing around and only one person escorting children onto the rides one by one. This took FOREVER!!! For a ride that lasted maybe two minutes, it was certainly not worth our time. Oh yeah, and we had to pay to park in this dump. I can't believe how bad this place was. Save your money and go elsewhere. read more

Nothing wrong with this place. Great value for the money. Its no Disneyland, but rides are solid and well maintained. A little frayed around the edges but with a good working class American feel.. just like the county fair back home. read more

Today I watched a family thrown from the log ride right in front of me due to a ride malfunction. I was standing there waiting for my own family who was in line to ride this same ride. Earlier the ride was down. The last time we visited, it was out of order then as well. Clearly this ride has issues but they continue to use it! Now a woman is in critical condition, a man and a young boy also were seriously hurt. The poor child had to witness his mother thrown from the ride and then stand there watching her bleeding in the water below. He will be traumatized for life. I will never return to this place or play russian roulette with my loved ones by putting them on this sorry excuse for an amusement parks rides again! A total of 7 rides were out of order today. What does that say? Clearly this place is falling apart and is not a safe place for anyone. I strongly suggest to NEVER put your children or yourselves in danger by visiting this place. They didn't even have the decency to close down after this happened. Only half the park. Disgusting! If you think I am exaggerating, Google it and read it in the news for yourself. I too am traumatized by what I witnessed today and will never, ever return. This could have been my family! I hope this family sues and shuts this place down! read more

Very disappointed on our first visit during summer on a Monday bringing my nephews to what we planned doing Bucaneer cove and the rides afterwards, only to come find out upon arrival that Mondays the park is closed , only Bucanner Cove is open. I'm upset because I didn't drive three blocks down to get there. I'm driving from LA , quite a drive if you ask me to discover that it's close. To make matters worse the website is not updated to specify that they are closed on Mondays. I asked an employee what was up with that , apologizing they tell me that misleading information on their website has caused them confrontation with angry individuals such as myself because the manager refuses to update their website. No signs at the entrance to let people know that they are closed, everything is obviously isolated. I decided to keep on driving further down the parking lot when we noticed some cars parked so I had to get off and ask someone what's the deal until they explained to me how it works on Mondays. We had fun at Buccaneer Cove but proper park information would be highly appreciated. read more
