Went there on a Tuesday and no worker in sight, we eventually left thinking their was just gonna be no service, but turned out the other table near us with "customers" was the bartender talking to her friends. Lame she saw us and had dark brown hair. Boyfriend ripped a bunch of a## while we were waiting so hope she got that linger. read more

Had dinner here Sunday, July 9 2023. 2 of us and we each had a pork chop sandwich with homemade chips. We split an order of fried pickle chips and each had a soda. The chops were okay. Pretty blah with no real seasoning to speak of. Their homemade chips were good as were the pickle chips, but almost $45 for what we had seems a bit steep. We're talking bar food here people. 3 is solid bar food. The giant/jumbo wings aren't really giant but they are good and they have a whole bunch of sauces to try. They staff is friendly but be patient as it seemed they may be short staffed but certainly trying to get things out to you and taken care of. The fire burger definitely had some heat. The wings were wonderful!! We had bone in and the boneless. The waitress was nice and seemed to do her job well. That's the best I can say about the place. The service coming out of the kitchen was horrible... who sells a 10 plate of nachos with everything served in 2 ounce cups. No sour cream no cheese no salsa. I asked for cheese and was actually charged 2$ for pickly nacho cheese that the waitress brought out. It was cold..... I told her the nachos were disappointing for 10$. I then asked where the hay stack was... she looked confused and said she's bring them out. We were completely done eating and waiting on the bill when I had to stop her and say don't bring those haystacks... she was like oh you don't want them... miss we are completely done eating. Great food but the one bartender would rather talk to friends than take orders. The tallest blonde was terrible with service. Would've stayed longer and had drinks but she was never around. I've been here multiple times with the family, and it quickly turned into one of our go-to places to eat. We love the beach and surf type decor and the laid back atmosphere. The staff are always friendly and provide great service. I tried the O Burger (a stuffed, deep fried burger) my first visit here and it was great. I hadn't had anything like it and was pleasantly surprised by how good it was. My favorite here though is their wings. They offer a variety of flavors and they're very well prepared. As a wing-lover, this place is one of my favorites for wings. Again, this place is great for so many reasons. If you're ever in the area, it's a must-stop in Chillicothe. Welcome to Biden's America. This was the first time in years that I stopped by this little bar, and I couldn't be less impressed. I had very little insofar as expectations were concerned and the staff did what they could to crush them. A server with next to no personality took our order some 15+ minutes after our arrival. And then the waiting really started. As I looked around I could see they were short staffed, but the sit down traffic was light, and a competent server would have had no problem. I also noted that everything was served in styrofoam clam shells. Curious? Well when you can no longer afford to have a dishwasher on staff this has to be the most un-eco-friendly option. Most Glass and metal can be recycled indefinitely, and that to go box will sit in a landfill forever. But I digress. An hour after we placed our order the server vacantly informed us that our food was up next. She engaged with regulars and I heard her apologizing to them and acknowledging the ponderously slow service. We were afforded no such courtesy. The food,when it came, was palatable. I can only assume that they went to another restaurant to get it. That would at least explain the wait. read more

We stopped in for lunch, and I've never had such slow, rude, terrible service in my life. We waited nearly 2 hours for three burgers and a salad. Our server was rude and unwelcoming from the start, and ignored us throughout the wait for our food. No offers for more water, no updates on how things were going. We just sat in the corner while the servers bickered with each other in the back and bussers ran around frantically. The place just felt like a disorganized mess in relation to how many empty tables were in the house. When our orders did finally arrive, they came out with mistakes and were certainly not worth the two hours. Our server continued to ignore us all the way till it was time for the bill. No apology or discount was offered, and we asked to see a manager. The owner returned with our server without introducing herself. Instead she went for the hospitable approach of looming over us while saying nothing. After asking who she was and explaining the wait and the service, she gave us the aforementioned quote and said she didn't know what to tell us. "We've got a full house today, sorry" was her excuse for the wait. The place was not full, but even if it was, you own a business that is not capable of operating at full capacity? I'm baffled. I just don't understand how a place with such horrible service and mediocre food still stays in business. We were ignored, disrespected, and we all payed the price in full for it. I've placed this review in a few places. I'm pretty sure the owners have disabled comments and reviews on their Facebook page, but someone said they thought my review was fake. Stopped in here for a bite to eat while my daughter was trick or treating with friends. Probably a great place if you're a local, staff is competent, but clearly prefers locals. It's bar food. Pizza is pretty good. I have only gotten the hand tossed. I order the philly steak which up until our last visit has been excellent. The cook couldn't find our waitress so she brought out our meals. Too bad all the sides were mixed up we traded by scraping onto each other's plates. I will say the home made pita chips are excellent with spinach and artichoke dip. I have brought people there different times and they all loved it. My hubby really likes the California chix sandwich which by coincidence has the artichoke dip on it. If you have time to spare and want to hang out with your friends waiting for your food its a good local place to stop. I gave them 3 stars but think is closer to a 2. The service is hit and miss. We stopped in for lunch because one in our party wanted to try the stuffed burgers. We all tried them with mixed results. You really cant call it a burger. It is a deep fried meatball stuffed with what you choose. It is served on a bun and looks like a baseball on a bun. None of us ate the bun and just cut the ball and ate it that way. All the greese stays in it. I probably wont get that again. I agree with previous reviews that service is spotty. When our plates came to the table two servers recommended we check to see we got the right one. They laughed and said at least we got the right table. We were the only ones there. I'll only review on the food (namely pizza), since we dont' partake in the night life here. This place is always busy. However, our experience with the food is very hit or miss. The first couple of times we had takeout pizza, it was awesome. Since then, about 50% of the time our orders are incorrect. I showed up one day to find that they made errors on both of our pizzas, so they were remaking them, and I had to sit at the bar for another 20 minutes. Note my surprise when I returned home with them...and they were still wrong. We've also had an occasion or two where we thought the pizza didn't taste as good. Maybe a fluctuation in ingredients? That aside, I think the pizza is pretty good. The menu is fairly extensive. I thought the appetizers were a bit on the pricey side for the amount of food. $6 for an order of 7 or 8 breaded mushrooms? read more

My wife and I have eaten here a handful of times. The food has always been pretty good and the atmosphere is always laid back and friendly. Only on one occasion were we a little upset about the place, but it was due to the service as they were not very quick to take our order; however, they were pretty busy....so I'll give'em that one break. Fantastic food. Large menu. It can take some time to get your food but it's made to order and fresh. The pizza takes the longest but definitely worth the wait. They have remodeled their kitchen this summer which has helped with efficiency. We live in town and frequent it often and for years. The wings are also incredible. Our 3 kids love eating there because there is something for all of them and they love the skillet cookie. They also do parties as well as catering. People have made comments that wait times on food can be high at times but personally I would expect that anytime I go to a packed restaurant when the food is fresh and made to order. read more

They really nailed their radio advertisements because I've heard of the infamous O burger for quite some time and decided to visit Castaways in Chillicothe. From the outside, it looked like a dive bar and I'm thinking oh no, here we go. Once I entered, I was pleasantly surprised. There is a nice beachy interior, large dining area, and it was clean and modern in there. I ordered the O burger filled with toppings (pepperoni, sausage, and cheese maybe?). I was warned there would be a wait but I knew this going in. If you are in a rush, do not come here. It took a while (over 30 minutes before all of our food was brought out). But I have to say the O burger was phenomenal. It was like a big deep fried meatball stuck in a nicely grilled hamburger bun. Biting into it, I feared all my toppings would fall out or it would taste weird. Oddly enough, the food just ran together harmoniously in my mouth. So tasty. Now, this is not a healthy burger by any means. I literally could feel my arteries getting clogged as I was working on this thing. But it is very delicious and I highly recommend it if you have the time to wait. Service was awesome too. read more

Only check this place out if you aren't that hungry, have an afternoon to waste, and like to be treated like shit. Unfortunately, there is not an option for zero stars. Not only was this the absolute worst service we have ever had (and three of us are former servers) the staff was incredibly rude and unwilling to admit mistakes. We arrived around 1:30 for lunch and we did not receive our food until 3:25. A two-hour wait for burgers and a salad is absolutely ridiculous, and our server ignored us for the duration, only approaching us when we beckoned her. When the wait and service were brought to the owner's attention, she was incredibly rude and refused to apologize or take anything off our bill, saying, "If you didn't want to wait, you could have left." Unfortunately none in our party were psychic and able to predict an insane wait time, or we would have gone to goddamn McDonalds. Impossible to get a drink. Waitstaff argumentative. Messed up another couple's order and refused to comp it or even discount. Argued that jalapeño poppers and fried mushrooms were basically the same. When I finally got a waitress to stop by, I ordered a 312 (one of only four beers on tap) and she was completely baffled. Told her I wanted to start a tab. She went to bartender and told her I wanted Miller Lite and that I had a tab. Bartender got pissy with me because I didn't have a tab. God help me! We have passed this place so many times, finally decided to stop and try it. We purposely went for lunch to avoid the large crowds that are always there in the evening. We were impressed with the many choices on the large menu. Different specials every day of the week. We liked the beach décor and the atmosphere, friendly waitress. I ordered a grilled cheese with bacon & tomatoes, nothing to brag about, could make the same or better at home. My husband ordered an Italian sausage burger with jalapenos & pepper jack cheese. A bit too spicy for me but he enjoyed it. The patty had a good flavor and if he orders it again, he'd skip the jalapenos & pepper jack and just eat it as a burger. We'd like to go back and try some of the other items on the menu, there's a little bit of everything and very reasonable prices. read more

THIS PLACE SUCKS!!!!!.....Their "Homemade chips" are just flour tortillas cut then deep fried gross.....Their hand tossed pizza taste like it's an out of the can dough.....All their apps are way to greasy....This place needs torn down and a parking lot put in! Anyone who thought the food here was just so-so must not have eaten the infamous fried hamburger. All I can say is OMG. One of the best things I have ever eaten and definately the best burger ever, and it is DEEP FRIED AND STUFFED with whatever you want. Ate here last week, tried the O-burger Challenge. First, several others in our party had a single O-burger. When it all came out, neither one of O-burgers I customized were given to me. Everybody's orders were mixed up. You can't really tell cause the O-burger is batter fried so you have to cut it open to see. Also, I had the haystacks with my challenge. Everything was very very very salty. I ate the meat inside of the burger, but the salt content of the haystacks was tooooo much. I even tried to drown the saltiness with ketchup, but had to hang up the towel because I just couldn't overcome the salt. So if you do try the challenge, go for the french fries, because it took me 3 days to get over the salt overload. read more

Very, very, very disappointed! Went last Saturday night for an O burger and quesadillas. We drank Diet Coke, but when we went to pay our bill, 3 beers magically appeared on the bill. They reimbursed us with cash for that, but only to find that they actually charged our debit card more than three times the cost of our bill. Our bill should have been about $28, but our debit was charged $96. We called several times in the past week, and were told Amanda (the owner) will call us back. She never did!!! Then we were told Nathan (the bookkeeper) was going to call us back, and he never did! Finally, after a week of calls and us telling them we are disputing the charge, they called back. They wanted us to drive there (45 minutes) to get the money back! Unbelievable!!! If you don't want to be ripped off, don't go!!!
