If you're looking for the ULTIMATE girl dinner, Cask is the spot!!!! 3 of my girlfriends and I came here for their Wednesday "girl dinner" special. It's all night and it is $25 for a martini of choice, caesar or house salad, and truffle or regular fries. I had a dirty martini, caesar salad, and truffle fries. All 3 were delicious and the portion was actually super substantial! This deal is not to be missed and we had such a fun girls night out here. The service was fast but they never rushed us. They include a 20% tip and they made that clear when we were paying, which I really appreciated! I look forward to coming back for another girl dinner Wednesday!

If you're looking for a deal, this is a great option. My friend and I came here for their girl dinner deal on Wednesdays. For $25, you can get a salad, fries and martini. I ordered the cosmo, Caesar salad and truffle fries. The food was good for the price. The service was swift and efficient. The restaurant was decorated with vintage elements like old typewriters which was cool. I'd return if I was in the area and wanted a cost-effective meal!

Came here with some friends for dinner on a Monday and we loved it! They have a bunch of great deals for different days of the week and the food is quality. I got the Lemon Pepper Pasta which was delicious and nicely al dente. It's also a great portion for being only $12.

Such a cute spot and loved their Wednesday girl dinner deal ($25+ tax and tip for your choice of salad, fries, and drink). It does get very loud in there so it's a great place to have casual conversations. The food was good and portioned well. The service was pretty good and a nice atmosphere.

Came here for their Sunday trivia night with some friends, and we had a great time + delicious food and cocktails! We got the lamb nachos and buffalo chicken nachos, which were both so good. They have an amazing brownie+ice cream dessert as well. The interior is spacious and has a chill and comfortable vibe. I'll definitely be back!

Come here on Monday for $12 pastas. They have three different options for Mondays. they Service was pretty quick. The five inside was pretty good. First floor is more of a bar and basement floor is more dining area with a bar.

Solid experience at Cask! I stopped by for some drinks and apps with my friend on a weekday night. It wasn't busy. The bartender was very friendly and funny. I had the Main Squeeze and my friend had the Blood & Spice. My drink was pretty good (especially since it was on the happy hour menu). Not a lot of happy hour spots have actual cocktails so that's a big reason why I chose this spot. For apps we had the Twice Fried Chicken Wings and Buffalo Chicken Dip. They were both veryyy good! I'm a sucker for buffalo chicken dip and I love the chips it came with. They were like chinese chips. I would def come back!

Ah this place really used to be a go-to dinner spot for me back in the day. It's such a cozy and delicious restaurant in Murray Hill. Great food options: lamb nachos, tuna tartar and seafood paella and scallops. I really do miss the paella, probably the best I ever had in the States. I really need to come back for happy hour (4-8pm M-F)... They also have a popular brunch but I think the dinner menu is better than the brunch menu!

Cute little bar/restaurant with rustic decor and reminds me of a ski-lodge vibe. There's kinda two levels - you enter in the bar area where I saw people meeting for after work drinks and you can also eat in the bar area. Up the stairs (just like 6) there's a main dining area, with tables. The bathroom is down a long flight of stairs and it seemed there's another dining area down there, but it looked empty. My friend and I enjoyed our food. The kinda neutral thing was that it was kinda loud. There was loud music playing and then it was just busy, so it raised the noise level. I guess iam old, but it was like 5pm and there's no reason for music to be blasting like that. Call me scrooge. Service was kinda slow. All together, a cute place and I would go again. I figure if you go here, think of it more like a nice bar that serves food, rather than a quiet restaurant.

Made a reservation for Saturday Brunch! Definitely recommend making a reservation since it was packed. They had a DJ. Pretty loud setting. Bottomless brunch drinks for $30. I got a smash burger. Good burger with pickles, caramelized onions, special sauce. Came with nice crispy fries. Service was quick, food came out fast, servers were very nice!

10/06/23: Regular bar decor bit on the cozier side. Tables were more towards the back. Warmly greeted and seated immediately as it wasn't very busy. Drinks Prosecco, Beer, Aperol Spritz, Old Fashion. We all enjoyed. Can't go wrong with a good Prosecco. Food: I had the chicken salad. Salad part ok however the chicken was a bit dry and lacked flavor. It is a good size portion could be a + or - depending. Others had burger and chicken sandwich which they enjoyed. But we all agreed the fries were extremely salty. All in all a decent lunch had by all!

Kinda saw this place walking around and looked like a nice place to get a drink. It was! Other than the slightly slow service. Everything else was great. Loved the outdoor seating so you can people watch. Great drinks menu, and they have some great sounding food. We just got the fries to go with our drinks. The Aperol was a classic, always great choice. I had the Eastsider. Delicious. Gin, lime, ginger and champagne. Great drink for a hot day. The fries were great but I suggest putting them in a different container , you can't get to the bottom ones as the tin was so narrow! The quick glance I got inside looked great too. Nice bar and seating. Loved all the pretty flowers! Great first drink in NYC to kick off my weekend!

A great lowkey dinner spot! We made reservations for 8, but came in early around 6 and they had no problem getting us a seat. Loved the design of the place. It gives off more of a date night vibe or a nice intimate setting. They did have some larger seatings as well for groups though. My friend and I ordered the mussels, fries, two cocktails, the hanger steak, and the seared salmon. Everything was great! The mussels were tender and flavorful, they did have a slight spice to them that might have been a little spicy if you aren't into spice. My hanger steak was a little tough and the chimichurri sauce wasn't as vibrant as I would have liked. But the flavors together went well and ended up being balanced. The seared salmon paired with the lentils were surprisingly good, the lentils added a great creaminess to the dish. We both felt very satisfied and full, so would highly recommend! The total for all this came out to about $125 for the two of us. They also have deals going on throughout the week that can be cute date ideas to check out!

Both failed epically. The bone marrow was inedible as it was like cold custard. Escargot had zero flavor and a real lack of garlic and good butter. Tasted more like vegetable oil than good butter. We shared the lobster pasta entree. Tasted more like Mexican goulash. No Italian flavors to be found in the sauce. Never once did the nameless waiter stop and inquire about our meal. Just all around a poor experience and a disappointing Friday night. There are far better places that appreciate your patronage. We will not be coming back. Not worth it.

The front part where you first walk in is the bar area with some tables. This restaurant is on the darker side and brings you back in time. Once you walk in further that is where the main dinning room is. This is also on the darker side as you can maybe tell by my photos. The wall paper and art around the restaurant is cool and there are some monkey statues around the restaurant. I was seated in a corner table in a booth area that seemed to be for at least 2-3 people. I thought for sure they would seat me at the bar area. I had a wonderful waitress whose name I think was Taylor but I could be wrong. I ordered the Monkey bread to start off with. It's a very buttery bread with truffle and parm cheese on top. I have alot of allergies and I was searching online if I could even have truffles as I have a nut allergy. So, I asked the waitress and she said she had never heard this. But, she came back to me and told me that White truffle grows near or like over where Almonds grow from but that, they don't use white truffle so I was all good. Well, this was super nice of her to check for me. I had no idea she was going to do this. She said the restaurant has strict protocols when it comes to food allergies. I then got for my main dish the double cheese burger with onions and pickles. To drink I had the cucumber martini. WOW everything was pretty darn good!! I passed on dessert. If you get a chance or a reservation pops up in your resy to go, even if it is for lunch..I highly say go for it.

Our server was…read moreincredibly warm, upbeat, and full of energy--one of those people who genuinely elevates a meal. I only wish I could remember her name because she deserves the recognition. We started with drinks, and mine ended up being a surprise standout. I ordered the coconut margarita, slightly hesitant since I'm not usually a margarita fan--but it completely won me over. It struck a perfect balance and leaned just enough into the coconut to make it feel unique without being overpowering. My sister-in-law, who's pregnant, had a non-alcoholic Ritual margarita and loved it, noting how convincingly it mimicked the real thing. Since we were sharing, we got to try a good mix of the menu. The monkey bread came first--definitely a splurge at $34, but it's one of those fun, indulgent starters that's worth ordering at least once. While I wouldn't call it the best bread I've ever had, I also wouldn't change anything about it. The crab rangoon was another highlight. Having it made with real crab made a noticeable difference, and the dipping sauces complemented it really well. It felt like a more elevated take on something familiar. For mains, the French dip was a hit. The meat was incredibly tender, the bread had that ideal crusty exterior, and the au jus was packed with flavor--I was very glad I ordered extra. It pulled the whole dish together. We also tried the smoked whitefish Caesar, which was the only dish that didn't quite land for me. It was a well-made, fresh salad, but the smoked fish flavor was a bit overpowering and took over the balance of the dish. Even though we were too full for dessert, the restaurant surprised us with a scoop of strawberry ice cream with chocolate sauce to celebrate my sister-in-law's babymoon. It ended up being one of the most memorable bites of the meal--we're still talking about how good that ice cream was. We arrived right at 11:45, and by the time we left, the place was absolutely buzzing. It's clearly a popular spot, and for good reason. Between the lively atmosphere, strong service, and well-executed food, I'd highly recommend making a reservation if you can.

I've heard "Lunch at The Modern" so many times, one thing I was absolutely going to do during this…read moretrip to NYC was lunch at The Modern, and I'm so glad I did. Located at MoMA, The Modern is a 2 Michelin star restaurant hosting both fine dining, showcasing Chef Thomas Allan's cuisine, and a more casual dining experience in The Bar Room. The restaurant is gorgeous and has a giant glass wall overlooking MoMA's Abby Aldrich Rockefeller Sculpture Garden, a lovely view. There is an abridged tasting menu of 3 courses, but we opted for the full chef's menu cause we didn't want to miss their signature "eggs on eggs on eggs" and after the supplemental charge, the price was close enough. - Hiramasa and sugar snap peas/crispy ham and cheese--simple and delicious, with the hiramasa being light and fresh and the ham and cheese providing a deeply savory contrast - Chilled lobster, shiso, and green radish--the lobster was cold and sweet but as a personal preference, I don't really enjoy bitter flavors and the slice of lemon under the radish threw it off a bit - Eggs on eggs on eggs--words cannot adequately describe the unctuousness of this dish, it's like eating rich, buttery velvet on a crispy, fluffy log of brioche. As a bonus, they bring you an extra toast to mop up all the tasty bits - Pumpkin seed sourdough and cultured butter--okay I totally didn't know this was meant to be eaten with the next dish so given total lack of self control in the face of pillowy fresh bread and perhaps the smoothest butter on the planet, I may or may not have eaten it all before the trout showed up... they were nice enough to give us more :') - Sea trout with clams and saffron shellfish broth--the fish was cooked to literal perfection and the clam and saffron sauce enhanced everything even more. This fights with the chicken dish for spot #2 in my favorites of this meal - Heritage chicken, provençal asparagus, vin jaune--this reminds me of the stuffed chicken from Per Se and was cooked just as well. The vin jaune sauce was slightly nutty with an incredibly rich flavor and also went well with the bread - Lamb saddle, romanesco, and lemon poached dates--for some reason I thought the chicken was the final savory course and I did not pace myself at all and was so full by this point. The lamb was tender and the date was a wonderful bite though - Wild strawberries and cacao--I can't remember what was all in this but I loved the little wild strawberries as they were like delicious strawberry gummies - Dark chocolate cremeux, meyer lemon, and espresso--delicious with interesting flavors, I haven't had many lemon, chocolate, and coffee combinations - Mignardises of raspberry, lemon coconut, cherry cheesecake--only one I tried was the cherry cheesecake bonbon but my husband ate 'em all so they must've been good lol The MVP of this meal was the melon lemonade mocktail, made with honeydew, jasmine, and pandan. Might be the most perfect drink for me ever made because it was melony with a subtle floral note from the pandan and jasmine, and only lightly sweet and tart, everything I love. Sooooo good! Service was pretty good up until we wanted to pay, and for some reason it became really difficult to find someone to close us out. We waited almost 20 minutes between the mignardises and finally being able to pay, even actively looking around trying to flag someone down. Despite The Modern not being the most innovative of meals, it's easily one of my all time favorites. I definitely prefer food that's executed well over food that's pushing boundaries, and may be back any time I'm in town.

Their entire operation seemed so incredibly focused, meticulous, and inspiring that we knew we had to try it. We started with the Iberico ham and the hiramasa tart, both incredible. Then came the chilled lobster, which was super fresh and refreshing, served with an amazing sauce that made me want to lick the plate clean. Every dish felt refined without being overly complicated. The service was extraordinary. You can immediately tell the front-of-house team is operating at an extremely high level and is aware of everything happening in the room at all times. At one point, my wife stepped away to use the restroom just as they were about to serve the first course. Without saying a word or making anything awkward, the staff simply looped around a couple of times until she returned. The moment she sat down, they resumed service seamlessly without missing a beat. That level of awareness and professionalism really stood out to us. Next came the rye bread, which was fresh and crispy on the outside, soft and fluffy on the inside, paired with delicious butter. Then we had the sea bass with crab, which was phenomenal and one of my favorite dishes of the night. But the true star of the show for me was the lamb. My wife and I grill lamb racks often, and I genuinely had no idea this level of perfection existed. It was cooked flawlessly, and the sauce was absolutely incredible. If I was not in public, I probably would have been scraping the bone clean :) Big shoutout to one of the staff members, Stephanie, who completely made our night. We were telling her how excited we were to finally visit after watching the Bon Appétit video, and she casually asked if we wanted a tour of the kitchen after dinner. Honestly, I thought she was joking at first. Then she came back after dessert and reminded us. Even after paying the bill, I still thought maybe she was kidding, but then she walked over smiling and said, "Let's go." My wife and I were completely geeked out. Seeing the kitchen in person was surreal. It was exactly like the video: super meticulous, orders being called out and repeated in unison, everyone moving with total precision and purpose. You could see the Omega clock, the Michelin stars on the wall, and just the overall culture of excellence behind everything they do. We were honestly in awe. Thank you again, Stephanie. That experience meant so much to us. Every time we visit a fine dining restaurant for a special occasion, I always wonder whether it will truly live up to the hype. Some completely miss the mark. Some are very good. But none have delivered on every aspect the way The Modern did. This is officially our favorite restaurant in the world.

They did however seat us at a table that was directly in the way of a lot of movement through the restaurant. Many waiters found themselves squeezing between our table and another to attend to other tables. Some were carrying very heavy looking trays. Beyond that, we had a blast. We ordered the butter service, which was super fun! The waiters make a whole show of it, seasoning the butter at the table, talking it up a bit, and then allowing us to go to town. The added shallots on top bring an extra hit of umami. The chorizo spread was a little grainy for me, but others at the table were going for seconds and thirds. I especially enjoyed the marinated leeks and the eggplant dip it was also served with. Our entrees were a little underwhelming. We ordered the lobster frites and the french onion soup burger. The burger wasn't overtly French oniony. It was just a solidly good burger. The lobster was delicious, but not anything I am continuing to think about. What I am still thinking about though, are the creme brulees! We ordered the corn creme brulee for a side. It was sweet and salty, with a great crack and chew to the top. I also loved the espresso creme brulee for dessert, which also had a nice light saltiness to it. We also got the spicy orange carrots which were totally delicious. In addition to the espresso creme brulee, we also ordered the lemon ice cream cake. It was bright and refreshing. The only downsides were the wait for the desserts. The wait was so long that our waiter insisted that they would be comped for our inconvenience. However, they were still on the bill at the end of the meal. He did remove them immediately when we pointed them out, though. And finally, coat check accidentally gave our Mother's Day bouquet of flowers to the wrong mom! We wound up with a much prettier bunch, but lost our balloon as part of the switch. Oh well!
