The most recent incident involved hood latches. The component at issue should have been covered under the applicable manufacturer warranty, or, in the alternative, repaired at a cost not exceeding approximately $500. Instead, I was charged $1,449.75 just for the part. I retain the receipt documenting that charge and intend to present this matter to the manufacturer and to corporate ownership. Prior to the transaction, I conducted independent due diligence regarding warranty coverage and customary pricing. The service manager thereafter made representations that were inconsistent with those facts. I will not conduct further business with this dealership.
