Given the car's age (nearly 10 years old) and current value (around $14,000), we chose not to proceed and instead sought a second opinion from an independent mechanic. The independent mechanic found: * The convertible top was functioning properly and did not need replacement * There was no oil leak * The window rattle was minor and required a simple adjustment The issue was resolved for $250. Based on this experience, I strongly recommend getting a second opinion before authorizing costly repairs at this dealership. The initial diagnosis significantly overstated the work required, which raises concerns about the accuracy of their service assessments.
