Pizza Ranch is close to being the same everywhere which of course is what corporate wants…read more I won't disappoint in this review. We were traveling between 2 events in Creston and Des Moines on this day. I mention it was a very hot early summer day because we were already tired and hungry. We were the first and only customers for the evening meal. We nearly drove away as there were no cars nearby. The food was fresh and the place clean. The manager and then a waitress got to us and both made sure to mention they could make a different pizza if we wished. In complete honesty, we are not fans of Pizza Ranch pizza; it lacks taste and feels like an assembly line product. But, we do enjoy their chicken. The salads are always fresh and a little ice cream at the end never hurts. Having read recent reviews we would disagree with the cleanliness and being early, there was a full salad bar. My observation concerning the franchise is it seems to be going the way of many before them. A great idea, good product, not great food at reasonable prices........BUT! The prices are now well into the range of better restaurants. It still attracts the kids as we took my 9-year-old grandson to one recently and he loved it......But then he is 9. My advice to corporate is to reevaluate yourselves....before a newer and better idea takes over. I add this because ........I can see why the reviews read as they do.

It seems pretty clean which can be a concern when eating from a food truck. Overall it was fine. The sauce was very pronounced and was the overwhelming flavor. There was so much of it that the cheese and toppings came off in a sheet every time I took a slice. I was able to scoot it back on though so not a deal killer. I ordered the PMG but I asked that the green pepper be left off. They proceeded to try to sell me their pepperoni pizza with an add on of mushrooms which made it $10 instead of the $9.50 price of the pizza I ordered. I had to go back and forth a bit to get them to take off the charge. I did end up leaving a tip because they said all tips would go to the ARL which was nice. Overall not bad - pricey and small for what you get though. I may or may not be back when they come back to my work.

The staff was friendly. The kitchen was busy, but everyone had a job and were working seamlessly. Dexfield Diner & Pub is still serving up the same great quality food the customers and staff can now enjoy the comfort of AC again too...! Tonight I took my son and his girlfriend on the short drive down Hickman through Waukee and Adel to Redfield. It's seat yourself. Seating is stools at the bar and a combination of low top and high top tables and chairs. Menus and napkins along with basic condiments are at the table. We were greeted right away when we walked in. Staff was friendly and personable. I've come to expect this from any of Steve Robert's teams. I don't think you'd last long with him if you weren't. Ordering and payment are done at the table. Cards and cash accepted. They have happy hour specials from 400 pm to 600 pm Tuesday to Friday. Half off appetizers and drink specials. We ordered: 1x cheeseburger basket with fries 1x 10 pc wings basket with fries 1x breaded tenderloin 1x appetizer of mammoth mozzarella sticks (and they are) 1x appetizer of cheese balls 1x appetizer of fried pickles 1x appetizer of fried mushrooms 3x fountain drinks (Coke products) Tiffany was making magic happen in the kitchen while two young ladies were taking care of business up front. Steve popped in to check on things and help prepare for Redfield's Settler Days. The breaded tenderloin is truly among the best in the state! Even better now that it's back to being served out of a basket and not out of not in a styrofoam to go box...! Owen and Vanessa enjoyed their burger and wings. All the appetizers are hand breaded.... Those mammoth mozzarella sticks...! Just massive! I hope the pic in my hand for scale does them justice! Everything was hot and fresh! Perfect right down to the house made ranch and marinara! The Clone pizza has the spicy sliced meat and green olives. A first for us, but perfect. The sauce is light, but plenty of flavor.
