This Papa John's is on 40 Highway west of Noland Road, and it's very tiny, right on top of a hill. Its whole business is carryout. When I ordered a pizza there before it seemed kind of pricey, so I haven't been back until this evening, but now I think they're on to something good. Shortly after placing the order, Jesse (the manager) called to let me know there would be a 15-20 minute delay. Given the size of the order, that was completely reasonable--and we likely wouldn't have made it there any sooner anyway. What happened next was unexpected: Jesse offered to comp the entire order. That kind of customer service is rare and genuinely appreciated. The pizzas were hot, fresh, and exactly what our group needed after a long day.
