I was so happy this place was open as I was starving!! I had the bacon wrapped scallops appetizer, which was okay. I also had the prime rib, so did C, it was over cooked :(. Flavor was all right. Baked potatoes were on point! It was served with some zucchini (meh) and some decorative lettuce. Not a lot of restaurants were open. read more

We returned to Killington & I had to come back to grab their Reuben. It is still as good as my first experience. My hubby got the pan seared Scallops. It was amazing and we wish we had more of the lobster risotto. It would melt into our mouths. The worst critics were my kids who got the burgers. My oldest got the burger special. He said it wasn't the best burger he ever had. The younger one got the All American. It was not memorable & would not be a repeat for him. Maybe we should leave them at home next time. read more

We came here for dinner tonight, in town for a friends wedding in Killington this weekend. We love trains so it was definitely a must-see for these transit nerds We were seated at a unique upstairs nook, and our server Noah was wonderful and attentive to us, and friendly and welcoming. We're excited to come back again! read more

OMG, I died and went to heaven. The Broiled Vermont Maple Scallops were biblical. Scallops wrapped in delicious bacon with the perfect amount of syrup. I praised the lord! For my main meal, Casey's Naked Elk Burger was nothing short of a Holy Mother Mary moment! Perfectly cooked and seasoned, served with lettuce, tomato, onions and pickles. We came here twice for dinner while staying at the nearby Killington resort. It was the only restaurant in the area we could find that takes reservations (Resy) and for some reason it was not as crowded as the others nearby though we thought the food and service was very good. They are known for their burgers and mac and cheese. Our small group had burgers, salads and prime rib, and all were very good--nothing fancy but hearty and satisfying. Service was good and the food came out promptly, which is what you want after a long day of mountain biking. We even got to sit upstairs in the caboose the second night and it was fun to see how expertly the server handled the high tables. read more

After a fun week in Killington, we couldn't decide where to eat. Had to return rental skis close to Casey's so we decided to try it! Seated quickly. Waitress was great. Food arrived promptly. My burger had good flavor, but was a bit dry/overcooked, and the bun seemed a bit stale. Baked potato had weird flavor, would not order that again. Son loved his Lobster Mac, portion was ginormous. Husband said his turkey burger was just okay. A bit pricey, but that seems on par for Killington. read more

Casey's Caboose is back and under new ownership! Of the many spots on the Killington access road, Casey's always had that cozy, lived-in feel and it's nice to see the new owners left all the original charm while adding in some other tasteful additions (colored LED lights for ambiance, vintage train memorabilia, etc.). Above all else though, the food we ordered was spot on! They had no problem with me calling in a take-out order (many places on the access road only do dine-in). We ordered two burgers - a Bayley Blue (topped with blue cheese, caramelized onion, bacon jam, and smoked tomato aioi), and the "Every Day's Thanksgiving" (with ground turkey, goat cheese, and sriracha aioli). The two of us also shared a very generous side of mac & cheese, topped with nicely seasoned breadcrumbs. Our total came to just about $40, and they include fries with the burgers...a nice touch (take note, Burgrs On The Rocs!) Whether for apres ski or a casual dinner, Casey's Caboose is a good time, and I'm glad they're back in business! read more

Casey's Caboose - 1930 Killington Rd, Killington, VT 05751 What do you do in a heavy rain at Killington Mountain the day before Thanksgiving? The kids are too young to go drinking so we opted to practice eating instead. We drove off looking for the first well-lit spot we could find. That turned out to be Casey's Caboose, glowing like an interstate pile up and a couple of firetrucks in the downpour. No need to look any further. Casey's is like so many mountainside joints in northern New England. Once inside you're surrounded by all possible shades of red and brown. There's kitschy stuff all over the walls and signs telling you to either watch your step or watch your head due to varying floor & ceiling levels. And always somebody seating you who's the happiest person you've encountered, regardless of the crappy weather or time of night. At Casey's Caboose he'll also be wearing a train engineers cap. Duffy, the cat in the hat, sat us and took a drink order. A perk of being in Vermont is the beer selection. Doesn't matter where you go, but many of the area's acclaimed and hard to get brews (in the Boston area that is) are on tap everywhere here - Von Trapp, Upper Pass, The Alchemist. I had a Focal Banger & the kids root beer on draught. Slick. Casey's bills itself as a gastropub and any place that sticks scallops on cheeseburgers earns the right to call itself whatever it wants. I had a Chili Dog w/ Sriracha Mayo - about the size of my arm. Just a wee salty, I nevertheless attacked it with glee and some mustard. My son went for the Mac & Cheese Burger and my daughter had the straight Mac & Cheese. If we wanted to stretch our stomachs for Thanksgiving we chose the right exercises. The burger was great. The Mac & Cheese was fine but it's rare to find one so exhilarating that a single human can consume more than a few forkfuls. The three of us did well sharing the giant burger & dog. Turns out, Duffy is also a ski instructor and he gave us some solid advice for the conditions as the rain turned back to snow. As a family joint Casey's is a must-go when you're at Killington. read more

Meh. I really really don't like the place. It doesn't have a good vibe. It's like I don't know too much and all over the place at the same time. Burgers were frozen and mediocre, service was ok but the dude was trying too much and it felt very weird. There are many places nearby that I'll go back to before I get back there. read more

Let me just say, this isn't a 5 star place, but is was much more than we expected! We came on a weekday towards the end of summer, the place was empty, with the exception of another couple that walked it 2 minutes after us. My 9 year old ordered the Mac and cheese, and decided to risk it and get the NY Strip. Was it the best steak I ever had? Not even close, but it was much more than expected. And my son loved the Mac and cheese, and their soufflé bread with butter. read more

Delicious food, great wait staff, and fun atmosphere. When we arrived, a large tour bus group was currently there. They were running a bit later than anticipated, but the manager put us on the list and promised if we came back in 30 minutes, they would get us a table. When we came back, they got us seated right away. While they could have acted stressed and harried after having a large busload of people just leaving, we were made to feel so welcomed. Our waitress was so kind and the food was fantastic! read more

Overpriced shit, 45 dollars for a 12 ounce...it was bland as hang...I've had a better steak at Texas Roadhouse that was about half the price. Waiter was pretty rude, did not check up on us at all. It was a pretty cool little place tho...nice and cozy read more

We came to Casey's Caboose last night for dinner. It was our last night in vermont. We were excited to try a new place since we had only ever gone to JAX's. We were thrilled! The food was fantastic. We started off with the Nachos half platter and we immediately regretted ordering the smaller size. The nachos were delicious. I ordered a salad which was also really good (it's not that hard to mess up a salad!) and my mom also ordered a salad which she loved. My sister ordered mac and cheese. Everything was delicious! We also got a basket of fries to share and they were probably the best fries I have ever gotten. Believe it or not, I have to get fries everywhere because I am addicted. These blew us out of the water! We had the brownie for dessert and it was also amazing! We are so excited to come back next year! read more

Went directly after the Spartan Beast Race. Burgers were pretty okay. Fries were very good. Waitress did a great job and the place had a nice friendly local vibe. Biggest downside was the wait. We expected the place to be pretty busy as it is a huge race weekend. Half the tables were empty but the hostess said she couldn't seat anymore because they decided to do kitchen training on the busiest day of the summer/fall. Nothing is worse than being starving after a Spartan and seeing empty tables but being told to wait upwards of 45 minutes. read more

Eight of us had a reservation for dinner at 8:15 on a Saturday night. We arrived at the restaurant at 8:25pm. We were told to wait in the bar until our table was available. We stood at the bar for 40 minutes and the female bartender ignored us the entire time. Not even a word to say I'll be with you in a minute. After 40 minutes our table was not ready and we asked the bartender if she could serve us drinks. It was then she said I'm only one person here. We mentioned to her that we had been standing there waiting for over 40 minutes. She then told our group that if we didn't like it we could leave. So we did. Not sure how the food is at this place but will never go back based on poor customer service. read more

Solid 5 star ski town dinner experience. We rolled up with four and there was a bit of a wait, so we grabbed some beers and chatted with the friendly bartender as we waited. Seemed like the staff was pretty busy, and some other customers were complaining about it, but who cares, its vacation and people need to learn to chill sometimes, or just go to Mcdonalds. Our server, Dennis, who wears a cool train conductor hat, was extremely friendly, fun, heartily laughed at our stupid jokes and seems like a fun person to hang with in general. We ordered family style to try multiple dishes out and everything was pretty good. Mac n cheese, lob roll, couple of burgers. The train caboose theme is also unique and cool to take pictures of. read more

It's alright. Food is subpar, but service is as good as it can be. Seen a downwards spiral the past year or so...

I wasn't expecting for my favorite meal during my Vermont vacation to be at Casey's Caboose, but it sure was! Casey's Caboose is a perfect dinner spot after a long day on the mountain. It's chill, but has a great energy with an awesome wait staff. I wish I could remember our server's name. She was so fun and had such an infectious smile. I would've ordered anything she recommended because of her great attitude. In terms of food, we ordered the mac 'n' cheese (OH MY GOSH SO GOOD) as a starter, and the lobster roll and fish 'n' chips. The lobster roll wasn't special, but the fish 'n' chips were amazing. Our server told us she moved from the Cape Cod area, so when she vouched for the seafood at Casey's we really took it to heart. We're so glad we did. The place itself is adorable, great curb appeal. Inside, the restaurant was decorated perfectly for Christmas. Definitely a must-visit place in Killington. We'll be back. read more

Stopped by Casey's as I hadn't been there in a decade. We were on a ski trip and were just looking for some beers and light food. Their burger menu was right up our alley. The beer selection was extensive and full of nice craft brews. We got a few apps including the pretzels which were tasty but not amazing. Waiter was friendly and attentive. Three of us had burgers, all of which we're tasty and cooked perfectly. I had the scallop burger which wasn't bad but I'd probably pick something different the next time. The decor is cool and we were seated promptly for a busy night. Pricing isn't too bad for a resort. read more

Sat at the bar, had espresso martinis and the bartenders were so nice and hospitable. Would definitely go back!

My fiancé and I attended Casey's Caboose on July 5th. It was my birthday, and we were looking for somewhere to sit outside and enjoy the view on our vacation. The atmosphere was welcoming and cozy, very authentic. I give Casey's 4/5 stars because the food was mediocre, my fiancé enjoyed the mac and cheese he got, I however did not enjoy the pan seared scallops I ordered. The scallops were tender, but the risotto was extremely bitter and the lobster chunks were chewy. For service, we had Lexi, and she was phenomenal. She heard that I didn't enjoy my food and not only did she comp the entree, but she gave us our desserts for free as well. Made my birthday extra special even though the food was not the greatest. read more

My dog and I were turned away at another restaurant with an outdoor patio but luckily found this spot on BringFido! The hostess was so sweet and accommodating to get us through a big party and up into the outdoor seating. We had multiple friendly servers stop by to say hi to my pup. Our server was Kassandra and helping her was Marianna. Kassandra made great recommendations and I had the Mac n cheese burger. The bacon though was super spicy and I joked I might need a glass of milk which she brought me anyway. Marianna gave us some local recommendations for lakes to see and a good breakfast spot. Everyone we encountered was so friendly and the food was delicious - the burger itself was juicy and the Vermont cheddar just made it even better! Had lunch here today with my family on our last day of skiing. Great atmosphere with kids. Poutine potato skins and they were not your typical potato skins- SO MUCH BETTER!!! I had the CT style lobster roll. The bread was amazing and very good portion for the 1/4 lb. Husband had the French Dip sandwich. I had a bite and it was really good! Think I'll order that next time. Connecticut style Lobster Roll. Casey's is a Killington staple. Dining in an old train engine is a memorable experience. The food is good, basic faire. The staff was excellent. Only negative is it is old and it smells old. We went on a warm October afternoon and it just smells dank, musty, moldy. Been coming for years and honestly love the place but I think it is time the owners invest in some cosmetic work. The carpet in main dining room is a good place to start. read more

This is your typical tourist trap that serves very average food. My boyfriend swears that this used to be really good. But not sure if they changed or if we showed up on a bad night but this was your typical bar fare at 2x the price. We just wanted a bunch of appetizers so we ordered wings, calamari and nachos. Honestly nothing was really memorable besides the nachos, which were not great. The nachos were 95% chips with a tiny scoop of chili, 3 slices of jalapeños and a very humble amount of cheese. The calamari and wings like I said were just average. read more
