Coffee good to great, but the atmosphere is quite grim, homeless people everywhere, and some of the baristas are both unfriendly, not very knowledgeable about coffee, and also lacking in basic hygiene. Whatever happened to the family friendly environment of Case? This is no longer it. If you have to get cofeee in Ashland, head to the other location. read more

Wow. I'm a full coffee snob and this was 10/10. The first day I went, they had a delicious Ethiopia single origin option for espresso; it wasn't on a menu though and the barista asked if I wanted to try it. He was concerned it might not taste perfect because the grounds were 2 grams heavy. It was the best cappuccino I've ever had. I went back 5 different times, at least. Every time it was a great cap, awesome vibe, and the baristas (especially Ethan!) were so friendly and upbeat. Located in the old Pucks location, this new branch of Case Coffee Roasters seems to be doing well. If you like Starbucks coffee, you'll like Case. I don't--too bitter; their standard $3 coffee that I drank. Coffee comes in one size mugs without free refills​ so you probably won't overdose on caffeine​. Donuts and similar​ pastries are served: all heavily sugared. However, I​ tried the glazed donut with sea salt and the salt/sugar combination was good. So 2 stars for the coffee and 4 for the donut. We had been driving for over 8 hours at this point moving from CA to OR, and decided a caffine break was in order. We stood there looking at the menu a while I saw there was a house made pumpkin spice syrup but I cant have coffee as it makes me sick, I also dont like my drinks so hot they burn my mouth so once the guy was ready to take our order I asked for a chai latte with pumpkin spice but a really luke warm childs temp. My friend is lactose intolerant so she got a golden milk latte on the menu, but got oat milk. We were planning on continuing our drive, so I didnt want to take a seat so I stood rather near to the bar as the barista made drinks, that was my mistake. Its hard to want to go somewhere people make fun of you. After a bit the guy who took our order made fun of getting pumpkin spice in any drink. And then that the other drink was made with oat milk. At first I thought, I must have misheard, yet the order before ours came out they had ordered a chai latte and when the barista called out the order the cashier teased under his breath, "without pumpkin spice, and piping hot" if you are going to make fun of your customers, maybe not do it while they are within earshot. When our drinks came out, mine was a bit too hot but it was reasonable. The barista offered to remake it but it was nothing just waiting a minute or two wouldnt fix. Most people dont want a luke warm latte so its understandable that he made it the temp he did. The other drink was made correctly. We thanked the barista and left. I appreciate that the barista didnt join in on the teasing. If it wasnt so uncomfortable I would have said something to the cashier, but I also didnt want to start anything I just wanted to get the move done soon. But hey, this was my first taste of Oregon as a resident. Most likely will never come back to Case. I didnt get names but the cashier was blonde maybe a strawberry blonde. Im sure if you order anything with pumpkin spice in it, he will be the one not so secretly rolling his eyes. read more

I adore this place. It's super cute, comfortable and quiet even though it's usually full of people when I go. Their spinach and feta croissant is FIRE and they have amazing donuts. The baristas are super personable and fun; they also make a pretty mean almond milk vanilla latte. I have had meetings there with people who have never been to either upper or lower Case (I know their lingo now, that's how often I go) and they are also pro-Case.
