Honestly, I didn't even know what a compounding pharmacy was until I got my most recent prescription. I was used to getting my prescription filled at pharmacies that most folks use like Rite Aid, Walgreens, QVC, and the like. My primary doctor prescribed a medicine that would have taken some serious hoop jumping in order to get my insurance to cover it. And the odds of it being denied were pretty high anyway. So they recommended Cascade Specialty Pharmacy because they would fill the prescription without the need for an insurance "prior authorization ", and the formula would be affordable. That kind of made me nervous until I arrived and got my questions answered. By happenstance, I was met in the parking lot by the owner of the pharmacy, Michelle. I was trying to get my walker out of my car, and she asked if I needed help. Normally I don't, but for some reason I said yes, not even knowing who she was. Michelle, and I chatted it up on my way into the pharmacy. As I slowly pushed my walker, she was completely patient with the time it was taking me to get to the door. That's when I knew I was in good hands. I asked Michelle to explain the difference between her compounding pharmacy versus a "regular " pharmacy. She explained that in their sterile environment they make/mix the product ingredients. Kind of like the old fashioned way that meds were concocted. Essentially, they make generic brands on site of the pharmaceuticals. They may add an additional complex/drug to enhance a particular prescription but essentially it is the hand mixing on site that make the difference mostly. Well, I think that's how I understand it. I have to say Michelle was absolutely awesome! She made sure that every step of my process was impeccable and that I was super comfortable. Michelle introduced me to the line of employees that we're working behind the counter. Each and every one of them greeted me with an amazing smile and a warm hello and welcome. The interior of the pharmacy was immaculate. I mean impeccable. Super clean, spacious, and welcoming. Everyone was friendly. Michelle helped me with my paperwork. She explained every step of the process, including that the pharmacist would sit down with me to go over my new prescription. It's kind of strange, but I actually felt honored to be so well taken care of from the "get go". I paid for my prescription. I sat down for just a few minutes until the pharmacist, Asia, came over and talked to me. She too was very sweet, very knowledgeable, and adroit at explaining what I was to do to effectively use my new medication. And then Michelle found me again as I was on my way out. She walked me back to my car! She took the time to make sure that me and my walker got safely back to my car. I'm still impressed and this experience was a few days ago. On the way to my car, there was a woman walking up the street with her dog. Michelle, call out her name and waved at her. She came over with her dog to say hi. Michelle took the time to introduce me to this woman. I learned that Michelle and her husband own another pharmacy up the street for pets. As a dog rescue mama myself, I was beyond impressed. Anyway, I'm so far, I'm quite happy with this pharmacy and will be going there each month for my prescription. It's not likely that I'm going to have Michelle there to handhold me through again, but this experience was an amazing start to my relationship with "my new pharmacy". Just to underscore my point: I usually go to the pharmacys elsewhere. Just like everyone else, I stand in line either in person or at a drive through window wishing at times the employee were even a wee bit kinder. I get my prescriptions and keep on stepping. Not giving much thought to the experience. At Cascade Specialty Pharmacy, I already know that I'll be greeted with a smile. And I will feel good about having to take my medicine. What a difference caring individuals make in the lives of others. In my opinion, those people deserve amazing success. I wish Cascade Specialty Pharmacy the very best in it's business ventures for the next many years to come! read more

I am extremely disappointed with this company.. They were compounding a drug for me which I had been ordering for years. I went to a new Doc and I asked him for a script renewal. I have been getting eye ointment for my dog here for years. Today is when I severed my relationship with CSP. My pup has eye drops and this ointment to control his eye issues. He does not need to use this medicine daily so, I usually stretch this prescription for a few months (that includes the 1/4" treatment amount and the additional medicine that continues to come out) and throw about half a tube away. Today I noticed that the medication expires 12/30/19, I just ordered it on 11/25. It was dispensed on 11/26. I am going to assuming that it was shipped on 11/26 or 11/27, and I received it on 11/29. So, I called regarding the upcoming expiration date. I explained that this is extremely frustrating and I would hope she would consider refunding me 2/3 of the cost, or send out a new prescription. The person who makes the medicine informed me that they legally can send the medicine up to 31 days out before it expires and that the medicine can be used after the expiration date, but they cannot guarantee the potency of the medication after that date. She also did state that it is not usually a problem since other customers use the medicine within the 30 days and most of the customers that receive this medication use it in one month (maybe they only use it for 10 days? maybe their insurance pays for it? maybe they use it for both eyes?). This medicine is expensive at $70 (including $8 shipping) to have it expire in a month, and I cannot speak on behalf of how other customers administer the medication, but I think it is in poor service to send this medicine out with this short of a legal potency shelf life without even asking the customer if this expiration date will work for their needs. It was mentioned that I should have checked the expiration date when I called, and I would of, if I thought of it. Honestly, I do not think of expiration dates when I refill any prescription. Additionally, I did not appreciate the multiple explanations about the potency, the other customers and the how they are legally able to send out this medication and how I should have checked the expiration date. It was condescending. I hope that CSP considers adding asking customers about expiration dates to their refill procedure in the future. It may only effect 1 out of 100 customers but, it is still one customer. read more

This is a long overdue review of a pharmacy that has met and exceeded my expectations. I have used Cascade Specialty Pharmacy over the past 10 years not only for specific compounded prescriptions but also for high quality supplements that are hard to find elsewhere like Pharmacy HCL High Potency Probiotic Capsules. Most notably, pharmacist April and her lab team have gone above and beyond in helping formulate exactly the right compounding medium in which to fill my prescription. As a sensitive patient this was not easy and they stayed on the case until they found a perfect solution (no pun intended!!) I appreciate April's tenacity, creativity and willingness to stick with it and me. It's made a huge difference to my life and I'm grateful! Cascade Pharmacy is amazing and I love their service. I have used them occasionally over the past few years for vet prescriptions for my parrots. Recently, multiple staff assisted me when I needed to get a prescription filled quickly. They never lost patience with me or made me feel small when I bugged them repeatedly. I was shocked to be hung up on for NO reason, as was told, "we don't need your business". I called this pharmacy on November 16, 2018 after having contacted them often in the past, to find that my pharmacist had been fired. I TRIED to get information, but was met with invasive, intrusive, personal questions that were EXTREMELY EMBARASSING for me to answer. The young woman I spoke had ZERO empathy or sympathy for my concerns or feelings. HORRIBLE experience. read more
