Menu and chips/dip

First time dining in at Casa Tezcal, and it did not disappoint! Went during happy hour and tried the carnitas empanadas and birria fries, and the flavors were on point, and the portions were generous. You truly get more than what you pay for, which is hard to find these days. [[HIGHLIGHT]]When I first came around 5 pm, there wasn't anyone there, but be warned: as it gets later, it gets busier![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I think the time I went was the sweet spot; the turnaround from when I ordered my food to when it arrived at my table was about 20 minutes. My server, Josue, was personable, attentive, and kind; he definitely added to the overall experience! He mentioned that he is also the bartender and would be taking on the role as server as well and to bear with him, but he did not miss a beat. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Overall, worth the visit for the food, value, and atmosphere![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Pleasant people, nice atmosphere, clean and good service.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I had the chicken pastor tacos and my little one had the kids steak and rice. We also had the fresh guacamole. Are were great.

It's kinda tucked away but once you know, you know. (It's near the Starbucks.) [[HIGHLIGHT]]We visited during lunch hour and it wasn't too busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The interior has a clean aesthetic.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Salsa and chips were on the table before I could get my coat off. Thank you! :) The food had great flavor and the portions were a good size for lunch.

I love Mexican food, so this was a favorite of mine! My mom saw it on her TikTok FYP, so we decided to give it a try since we were in the area. I ordered one of their lunch combinations (#10). It doesn't come with sour cream, so I got it on the side. Everything was really good, and our waiter was attentive and friendly.

We stumbled upon Casa Tezcal while in the area one weekend and really enjoyed our lunch. Their lunch menu (including brunch) is available on weekends too and is priced slightly below the dinner menu. They also have a happy hour on Sat-Sun from 11-4 and on Mon-Fri from 2-6 that includes margaritas, wine, and beer and almost all of their appetizers. [[HIGHLIGHT]]They have plenty of seating and the staff were very friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] They provide complimentary chips and salsa. We tried the pork carnitas empanadas, steak fajitas, and the steak & rice. Everything we ate was well seasoned and comforting. The steaks were tender. The portions were generous and we left completely stuffed.

Fajitas for two!!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]What a lovely place for a casual date night![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We stopped here to enjoy the Fajitas for two. A generous serving of lightly seasoned beef, chicken, and shrimp and two places of sides (beans, rice, and pico de gallo) came out of the kitchen within 8 minutes of placing our order! Our server was on his a-game too - so pleasant, proactive, and attentive to anything we may need. I requested their house hot sauce to spice up my food a bit. I enjoyed the house habanero on my fajitas (they provided a container for me to take the leftovers home in too). I did have a virgin margarita as well and really enjoyed it. We can't wait to come back here again and maybe try their real margaritas. Don't miss out on this yummy gem!

Quesa Birria with rice and a salad (the birria broth was a late arrival so it didn't make it into the picture)

I ate here about 2 weeks ago, I think I arrived around 6:15 and the place was slammed so I was offered to wait 15 minutes or sit at the bar. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Part of me thinks I should have waited the 15 minutes and been put at a table, but I sat on the far left of the bar against the wall and was pretty limited in my space since the host/hostess podium was right behind my chair.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It took a while for my drink order to be taken, but when it was I ordered a small blanca margarita and it ended up being pretty mediocre. Waiting for someone to take my food order was an even longer process... I thought if I pushed my menu far enough away from me that the servers could tell I was ready to order but that trick either didn't work or it just wasn't noticed at all. I ordered the quesa birria and it was a pretty good plate of food, I finished everything. I hadn't eaten all day and was surprised that my first bite of food after 7 pm didn't end up being an earth shattering one, but I was content to have a plate of warm food I could inhale before having to rush back to the animal hospital down the road. If you go, maybe ask what drinks the servers/bartenders recommend (I'm pretty picky about my margaritas so I would suggest to steer clear of them unless you're told of another mixture/flavor that is supreme somehow?) and [[HIGHLIGHT]]try to get a seat anywhere except the bar unless it's a slow time of day.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Great food amazing Service! The Father's Day shirt was an uncommonly big surprise! More than expected, thank you.

When my mom was around, she told me she came here with a friend. Hubby and I came here on a lunch date, Inside is a small space of tables, there was a waitress and a guy behind that was making sushi. When the sushi takes time to make, you know it's going to be delicious. I've been to other sushi spots and the rolls would come out rather quickly. We decided to start off with the Japanese fried squid on a stick. They were baby squid I had to ask thinking it was a full size squid. For the roles my husband chose the Playboy and I chose the Coco Mango which we both split. I thoroughly enjoyed the fried squid on a stick It was nice and crisp on the outside and soft and juicy on the inside. It comes with three in the appetizer so if there's two of you just split the 3rd. When our roles came out they Showed great presentation. I was nervous with the fish on top of the Playboy role because I'm not used to eating that type of sushi and I think it has to do with texture. I don't know what I was so afraid of because it was the most tender piece of fish and melted in my mouth. Out of the two roles the Playboy was my favorite one the fish on top was soft, All of the flavors were Prominent and you didn't feel like it was getting lost. I'm sure we could have ordered a third roll but it was getting close to their closing time at 2:00. I ordered a hot green tea and it came out with its own teapot which I absolutely loved. I'm just upset with myself that it took me forever to get here. My husband and I have already talked about when we come back some of the other options we plan to try and I'm really looking forward to it

Very cozy ambiance and the service was very good. I had the mabo ramen but ended up substituting the pork belly for beef and it was AMAZING! It wasn't bad, just not up to par as normal. We told him we didn't expect to get anything free, but he understood. He also "took care" of another table that was dealing with a very delayed meal. So great customer service! We always return as we like Bonefish. And actually are going this evening. Ambiance in bar area is more my style. (A little too dark for my husband on the restaurant side.). We love the fish and chips. The crab cakes are delicious. We also love the ahi tuna for appetizer! A must have.

On Friday, we ordered takeout. We were short on time and ordered what should have been a super fast ticket for the kitchen. Mac and cheese, fries and a salad. Almost 30 minute ticket time for that. We have similar slow kitchen issues every time. It was also packed horribly (messy and cold salad packed with hot food), was way over-salted, and they forgot to pack ketchup and my kid's apple juice. Too many other good restaurants right in that area to deal with this place again.

We thought…read morewe were going to have to wait for a while, but we were pleasantly surprised that the patio was open on a first-come, first-served basis, so we sat outside. It was a pretty nice evening with a light breeze. It was perfect, since they had over-the-top heaters and then a beautiful heater that came on at the end of the patio. We started out by ordering some old-fashioned drinks to sip, and they were amazing! Beautifully made and spot on with the flavor. For food, we decided to order from the three-course dinner menu. My husband started with a steakhouse wedge salad, and I had the chicken tortilla soup. Wow, both were so yummy. My husband could not say enough about his salad. My soup was bursting with flavor and full of chicken. And because we apparently needed to be extra, we had to order the lobster spinach queso because it sounded amazing, which it certainly was. It was full of lobster, spinich and pepper jack cheese!!! For the entree, my husband had the wood-grilled chicken, and I ordered the grilled salmon and shrimp. He said the entree was incredible. He loved the mushrooms and tomatoes grilled on top and especially raved about the parmesan mashed potatoes. The chicken was juicy and flavorful. My grilled salmon and shrimp were spot on. The shrimp were thick, and the salmon was grilled to perfection. Both were topped with a light aji amarillo sauce that was fantastic together. To me, the ancient grains pilaf topped the whole thing off, the salmon with the pilaf and sauce were a perfect three-piece combo that had me wanting more and more with each bite. For dessert, we both ordered the petite creme brulee cheesecakes. At this point, I was bursting, but the gorgeous vision in front of me could not be wasted!!!! The cheesecake had a perfect light crunch on top and paired beautifully with the fruit and dollop of whipped cream on the plate. Our server was kind and prompt with our food, even when she seemed very busy. Overall, it was fantastic, and we have plans to return.

Our server was on point with our drink refills and he had a pleasant attitude. We will return again.
