I only place this rate, not because of the food but because of a very unfriendly waitress. I was at location on 2-5-23 @ 2:20 pm. Waitress I am referring to named Lilly, with salt & pepper hair pulled back in a bun. She was not our waitress who took our order, however, she was a waitress in the area. I stopped & asked for some extra ranch dressing for my wife's salad; she had no smile or response. When she brought the item I graciously told her "thank you!" She said nothing in response, with a stearn, unfriendly face, no smile at all, even when she was walking around the other tables. I don't think she likes her job!! read more

I went back to this restaurant yesterday after not being there for about 2 years thinking it might be better by now. Took my grandson which he lives a distant from me & comes to visit when he can. Glad to say he ordered the Tilapia plate which he enjoyed,thank goodness! I ordered the taquitos lunch special which the rice & beans were ok but the taqitos were like the ones you buy at the grocery store in a box! I didn't complain bcuz I didn't want to spoil it for my grandson. As far as the waitress she never came to ask us if we needed anything, we asked a young man when he saw him filling napkins at tables for extra napkins & my grandson asked 4 more water. I wouldn't of made a bad review for this reason but wait it gets worse! I ordered a cosido to take home to eat today & told the waitress I wanted less cabbage as possible.she said it was all together, well to make the story shorter, getting ready to eat the cosido today all I got in the soup was mostly cabbage ,1 piece of small meat, 1 potatoes & 2 carrots. No tortillas, no cilantro, no hot sauce, no onions & about 6 slices if lemon wedges. I wasn't going 2 leave a tip for the waitress but I'm a Christian & know that there pay isn't much so I left $ 5.00. Had I known about the cosido I would of left her a penny! God doesn't like ugly & obviously she doesn't like her job. Doesn't realize without customers going to pay her wages she wouldn't have a job! She as well probably not happy with her life! This used to be one of our favorite Mexican restaurant. Now, the food LOOKS good but the taste is BLEH! The fish was fried but had no taste at all. Part of the fish was really slimmy which makes me think it wasn't the best quality of fish. To top it off, the service is very very bad. Our server looks like the "head" server who's been there for awhile but when you ask anything about the menu, she seems bothered. Drink refill was non existent and salsa refill seems "Troublesome" for them. Although they had signs stating voted BEST MEXICAN place, the food itself has gone down hill. This place is the best. We just started using their free delivery service and the food and customer service never fails! You pay at your door which is awesome, giving the card over the phone is a hassle. We called right before their guy was walking out the door to adjust our order because we forgot something and they remade a meal for us without attitude or extra charge. Steer clear of this place. I was touched against my will multiple times by the owner. Yesterday I stopped in to grab some food and a drink and brought my book with me since I was dining alone. The owner was stopping by the tables checking in on customers. He asked if I had already ordered, gave me a fist bump then continued on. After I received my food he stopped by again and greeted me with "Señorita!" and I responded with "Sí señor." He was surprised that I responded in Spanish and said "Oh you're so cute!" and pinched my arm near my armpit and walked away. At first I just chalked it up to him being an endearing Mexican grandpa. He came back to my table a few minutes later and asked me "What did you say to me again?" And I repeated "Sí señor" and then he said "Oh you're just so cute! I love you my friend!" and as he was saying this he was rubbing my arm up and down and then continued onto my back and then his hand went a bit lower until the rubbing was now around my bra strap. Then he said "Oh, give me a hug!" and put his arm around me while I was eating and I was so stunned I couldn't even say anything but I did not lean in to reciprocate. He walked away and came back within a minute and started to say something about "pretty girls like you. . ." to which I did not respond and was now panicking and trying to think of how I should leave this situation. He asked me if I needed anything like a box and I said yes. My server walked by and I confirmed with her that he was the owner. I told her that he was making me feel uncomfortable by touching me whenever he passed by and even trying to hug me. And she said "Oh he's just like that!" which made me so sad to hear. She did tell him that I was feeling uncomfortable and he came to my table to apologize and said he would "treat me" to today's meal which he did and hoped that I would be back to give them a second chance. I would have much rather not been touched by him and just paid for my meal like a normal customer. Even though he apologized, I find this behavior so disgusting and unprofessional. Being pinched, rubbed and hugged by a man I've never met before while I'm in the middle of eating a meal is not acceptable anywhere, regardless of any cultural differences that may exist. read more

This place should be embarrassed, it was a huge disappointment. I don't understand how a place gets such great reviews when their food tastes awful and their service wasn't that great either. I came here for taco Tuesday and I was better off eating somewhere else. So much for trying to support this small business. We ordered their asada tacos to go. Then waited for about 20 minutes and our food was ready. During our wait, I saw multiple people asking about their food only to be told, "I don't know" or "we didn't receive your order". That should've been a red flag and they were so disorganized. I saw two people leave upset. Once we got home we tried the tacos. It's one of the worst tacos I've had. The tortillas were cold and the meat wasn't even seasoned. It's like they were in such a rush to get food out that they weren't even letting the tortillas warm up and weren't seasoning the meat properly. We called to complain and they just hung up on us. We love this place! We were in the neighborhood and saw this place and looked up some Yelp reviews. We decided to come here this past weekend (three days in a row to be exact) and we loved the dishes we ordered, the prices, and the ambiance of the restaurant. This is a good family sit down place, not overly noisy and you are not rushed to leave. I ordered enchiladas ($12.00), with a quesadilla de cameron (14.00), and a Michelada ($6.25). Everything was amazing, I felt that the food was a bit overpriced, but I saw that they have lunch specials that are inexpensive (I will be trying this soon). The drinks here are super cheap, the pitcher was about 10.00 (6 servings). We will be coming here over and over again. read more

Horrible experience here. My enchiladas were extremely salty and had a terrible flavor. We also ordered the pozole that came in a hot plate but it wasnt hot as it's supposed to be it had no real flavor and the same for the menudo we ordered. The service is outstanding, the atmosphere reminds you of being at a favorite family home, where good food, laughter and fun abound. The food is made fresh daily, and the selection has a variety to make everyone happy. It is a family owned business, run by two brothers who had a dream back in the 1970s and made that dream a reality. They will even pull a chair up and talk to their customers when they get a chance to let them know how valued their customers are to them! My husband and I have been going to Casa Sanchez for well over 13 years. The food still taste good, but over the last couple of years some things have declined. The service is the main thing thats bad. Most of the long time servers have left and the new ones are terribly slow and not attentive. At one point I took a large group for a bridal shower and I was totally embarrassed at how bad the service was. We only order To Go now because of it. Now we may even stop doing that after tonight. For the second time we got hair in our food. In our last order my husband got two long black hairs in his burrito. And this time I got a black hair in my taco. SERIOUSLY! Do they not use hair nets in the kitchen??!! They also got my husbands order totally wrong this time. I phoned in a fajitas burrito and with carne and all beans no rice. What he got was a Carnitas burrito with no beans. He called ahead to let them know before he brought the food back and the guy that answered the phone seemed to argue with him a little bit about the order saying that I ordered Carnitas. HELLO...even if he thought I said Carnitas instead of carne it wasn't fajitas and there were no beans. I called in my order and it was ready within the time frame they gave me (15min) the large menudo was $11.99. Located in a shopping center, the restaurant's name mainly says "Mexican Food" in large letters and the Casa Sanchez sign is really small, so I was a little confused if I was at the right restaurant. It was very busy in there, and there was a wait, but we had reservations so we were seated as soon as we got there. The chips and salsa were not as good as I thought, since other Yelpers were raving about them, I was excited to try them but the chips did not taste fresh and the salsa was just the norm. We asked for guacamole as an appetizer to have with the chips and it didn't come out till after we were almost done with our dinner. And the guacamole wasn't that great either, it was creamy and had a bland flavor and did not taste freshly made. I ordered the Burrito de Fajita with Chicken and with Red sauce and it was a huge burrito that literally gave me 4 meals in 1 with my leftovers! But the red sauce had a funny flavor to it, or it might have been the chicken as well, I think something in there was overly seasoned and it took away from the authentic flavor it was suppose to have. I have no problem paying for anything but if you say something to a customer after you made a mistake and then change your mind when we drive down there, you don't value me as a customer.
