Casa Sanchez has been a favorite stop for us over the years. We've moved out of state but can't wait to visit when we are in town. I will keep this short and simple because this is all it deserves. I have been coming here for well over 15 years now and while we have noticed that the restaurants has been going down hill quickly. I hadn't been here in a while so we thought we should try it. I ordered a number 13 (chili relleno, enchilada, hard shell taco). A plate of steak picado A kids order of nuggets and fries. I ate my taco first which was tasty. Took a couple bites of the enchilada and started on my chili relleno. When I got half way I noticed I was eating nothing but egg. So I began to pull the egg out of the sauce and notice what I thought was green chili spots. Boy was I wrong. I pulled the green spots apart and I was so disgusted I didn't even take pictures of the GREEN MOLD, GREEN HAIRY MOLD, GREEN HAIRY SMELLY MOLD. what I thought was chili was green mold. I immediately put my fork down and ran to the bathroom to vomit I was so grossed out. My family did not eat the rest of their food they ordered, they didn't even want to drink the sodas. My husband brought it to their attention and they took the plate I ordered off the bill. Which is fine. But I didn't think we should have even been expecting to pay anything after that. The albóndiga soup was just water & pepper. The fajitas came with undercooked bell peppers and over oiled onions. Rice was hard & the beans were canned. The salsa was watery tomatoes. We have found that this place is always so good. We are new to the area. I love that we found an authentic Mexican restaurant. They always keep it clean and that's important to me. It can get busy on weekends so there might be a wait. The beans are just to die for! I love these beans and I feel like I need to order them with each dish. I love the food it's always fresh. The portion sizes are big. They don't skimp on the rice and beans. They give you a lot. I've ordered taquitos, tacos, huevos rancheros and chiliquellas with egg. The tacos are crispy and the chili quellas are super good. The waitress seem to have a lot of tables but you know what that seems to be everywhere. The staff are sweet and friendly. This place has become our whole family's favorite location since we discovered it a few months ago. I hate to admit that we've been here atleast once a week since. You can't beat the large shareable portion for the decent prices and they're delish! The staff is kind and we never seen anyone working with an attitude or upset. Which is pretty rare now days. Every server helps every table which is nice. The ac works great and I like the authentic Mexican decor with the wooden frames and attention to detail with the wood crafts. Our favorite dish is the chiliquiles and chili Reno. The michiladas are so refreshing that I sometimes even order the with seltzer water instead of beer just to keep having more. The owner Serafin, is most of the time there and hustling just as hard as the serving staff. read more

First time there and I order to go, had a craving for menudo and I found this place on google I read a bit and it look okay, I stop by Sat morning and the place looked nice, clean, good vibe, guy that help was really nice and friendly, and the whole crew looked nice, THIS REVIEW IS FOR THE MENUDO ONLY, I don't and can't coment on anything else, I'm sorry I don't mean to hurt any bussiness and hope you read this and perhaps improve it, MENUDO is flat it don't have much flavor, i had better and I had worse, order came with chips and salsa, the salsa needs improvement also, it taste like it's been in the fridge for a while, I feel it should taste fresh. Yhank you all for your time, and as I say, all bussinesess are worth at least one try out. Now as far as the pricing 10.25 for a small and 12.25 for a large I feel the prices are a bit high to the portion size. My favorite Mexican restaurant! I've been coming here my whole life. When friends ask my favorite local spot, this is always the place. Amazing salsa, fresh every time. Amazing rice, beans, fajitas, shrimp enchiladas, wet burritos, etc. The ambiance is exactly what I look for in a restaurant, clean, laid back, and comfortable. For my family, this is the place we go to for all our birthday dinners. When I moved 30 minutes away I would drive back here specifically for this food. Can't say enough good things! read more

The salsa for the chips was really good the chips were a little stale even with that it still was a great snack before eating my burrito. The Colorado burrito was just ok I added rice and cheese to mine. I'm the sauce was good the only thing is that the meat is bland and tuts not cooked in the sauce other than that I definitely enjoyed the burrito. Had the menudo today..... Really disappointed. Zero flavor, added salt, chile, onion and lemon still not impressed. I have to say on the plus side they use honey comb menudo and the servings are decent. The chips and salsa tasted funky, the chips were stale and salsa was sour and the onion over powered the salsa. This was our 1st time trying this restaurant.. Umm, sorry.. we wont be returning. The enchilada sauce was bland and a lil strange taste. So we came to this restaurant for the first time and we sit down, the waiting area was dirty and disgusting so we kind of give it another chance anyways. Big mistake they sat us down and we order our drinks I ordered coffee and my coffee cup came with lipstick note the lipstick is not mine. I told the waiter he gave me a sorry ass apology. Told him to let the manager know. You will expect the manager to come and give me a sincere apology like a professional business but he didn't I had to call him over and when he came he just stared at me waiting for me to tell him what he knew already he also gave me a sorry apology like he didn't want to. I would not come here again. Just prepare to wash your own dishes here or bring disposable dishes because they don't believe in washing here. Super gross. read more

Sad to report, but my "Doubting Thomas" suspicions about three banners declaring Casa Sanchez "Best Mexican Food" in 2016 and 2017 by a local newspaper were correct. Someone must have loaded the ballot box. We agreed with the Yelp average, just a 3.5 star rating at best. It started off well...a good, freshly made salsa. What about the chips? I cannot say because we don't indulge these days. It's a dietary restriction for us, and honestly one that requires a strong will. The interior was cute, the plating of each dish was attractive, the portion sizes were healthy, service was great, but it was the flavors that knocked this down to a 3 star review. They failed to woo me away from my own personal favorite, local Mexican restaurants. We live for the weekends. Menudo, when done right, gets major respect in our Hispanic influenced So Cal. But this one, small, filled-to-the-brim bowl of tripe, had lots of honeycomb tripe but none of the less chewy connective tissue Mr. B likes. We asked they leave the hominy out since all corn products are off our dietary list. The broth was not collagen rich from the pata, the result being a rather thin, watery broth that needed some TLC we could not give, even after adding the obligatory oregano, cilantro, onion, and red pepper. No respectable menudo eater orders menudo without asking for a good smattering of tender pata (pig trotters or beef). At Mr. B's request, a second small bowl with two large bones covered in cartilage was served. Nice portion, but shortchanged on the time necessary to brew, simply not soft enough. The best cartilage simply melts in your mouth. This one was still a bit chewy. My dish, the Chile Verde, was equally disappointing. Large portions, but missing that lovely , well balanced herbal factor in the tomatillo sauce: scant flavors of oregano, cumin, garlic, or red chile spiciness, just too bland, and most distressing of all, very lean meat. It was way under salted as well. Not that I mind the salt issue, it is on the table in shakers. I can always add salt and appreciate their restraint out of respect for those who cannot. Mr. B also ordered a dish he intended to take home, chorizo and eggs. I can happily report the chorizo was perfect. We passed on rice, but the refried beans were not great. I suspect they make a more healthy version, i.e no lard, and again no salt. It was pushed aside and not eaten, unheard of in this family. One positive outcome, I was notified that Casa Sanchez participates in the Yelp Cash Back program. We got $3.57 back on our credit card. Cool. But we will not return to cash in again. read more

The restaurant charged me twice for a to go order. Waited to make sure it wasn't an error and would've dropped from Being charged. It wasn't. Called several times to have manager call me back which he didn't and they had to give me his direct cell number. Manager said he only seen one charge when I showed him my bank account for the duplicate charge for the same day. He then tells me, I only paid once and I didn't leave a tip, which I didn't after being charged twice for a To-go order. Never going back. Avoid at all costs because they'll charge you twice and deny it. Thankfully I called my bank who disputed the second charge. read more

If you're looking for serviceable, step-above-taco bell, plain-ol'-mexican food, you found it. The extensive menu is really nothing to write home about. Many of the items lack any true flavour, but a plate is completely in a sauce & lots of melted cheese to make up for it. The service is friendly but not very intuitive, and asking questions does not seem to go over well. Their drinks are where they shine & pack a punch!
