I went here on a recommendation from my hotel, Hampton Inn. Easy walk and just around the corner. The prices on the menu were ridiculous but I felt I'd give it a try anyway. I ended up ordering tamales that were not the best, in fact, they were either old or too dried out. They also gave me an upset stomach on top of not being good. Chips and salsa were ok. If I stay at the Hampton inn again, this will NOT be on my list of choices to eat at. I'm giving two start because the service was good and chips were ok. read more

This place was just awesome!!! We arrived there under the impression they were closing at 10:00pm.. But they really closed at 9:30. The staff was so gracious and kind. They seated our party of 7 people and didn't miss a beat. The food came to our table hot and delicious. I also ordered a Cadillac Margarita and it was the best !!!!! They were not stingy with the liquor like some of these chain restaurants the serve so call Mexican cuisine. I will always make this a stop on my travels. read more

This was a recommendation by the concierge in our hotel. And all I can say is probably one of the best recommendations I've gotten. They close at 9 but still sat us down when we arrived at 8.45. The salsa just made me want to drink it all down. The margaritas must had been spike with please-drink-me more or something. They were huge and worth every once of calorie for all they are worth. We had the seafood stew and tilapia. I really like the sauce on the tilipia. Also drink worthy. I must say that this beats any of the Mexican places in Berkeley hands down. read more

This place was recommended by a local when I told them I was spending the night in Red Bluff and was looking for a place for dinner. Kinda reminded me of an El Torito from the outside and the inside as well. I went to the bar area and looked over the menu. Entrees were averaged about $14. Seafood was a little more. I ordered the shrimp diabla or something like that. The waiter told me it was one of his favorites. While waiting for the food, I had a Dos Equis amber and complimentary chips and salsa. Food arrives and it's on a huge plate with corn tortillas in a warmer. It came with rice, beans and shredded lettuce and a slice of tomato. The shrimp didn't taste right. Like it was frozen too long or rinsed with bleach or something. The sauce was way too sweet. It was like a Chinese sweet and sour sauce. Service was very good. Waiter and server were attentive and personable. Next time I'm in Red Bluff, I'll probably try something different. read more

Synopsis: Seriously disgusting. Do not waste your time, calories or money on this sub-par pseudo-Mexican restaurant. There are plenty of other places if you are in the mood for Mexican food! Full Review: I never, ever write a negative review without visiting the business at least a couple times to be sure I didn't just happen in on an off day. Therefore, I can say with absolute certainty that I have given Casa Ramos a fair try (or three!) and they have just gotten worse with every visit. One time we were told we must sit out on the patio with our service dog. It was March and it was raining. We reminded the hostess of ADA laws stating we cannot be treated differently or refused service because of the dog. We were eventually seated inside, but so far away from the main dining area that the server forgot we were there. The food was very disappointing on that, our very first visit. I expect more from a Mexican restaurant in a largely Hispanic area. The decor is...well....tacky. The main dining area is large but the acoustics are terrible. It is easier to hear the conversation at the table across the room than it is your dining partner. The taco salad is expensive for the small plate of lettuce and 1/2 cup of hamburger meat you receive. Seasoning appears to be a foreign concept. Don't even THINK about ordering from the few American choices. The hamburger is dreadfully dry and rubbery and I would have told our waiter as much had he ever returned to our table. Wait staff (at least those with whom I have come in contact) have selective English skills and appear to be just too busy to take an order or refill a glass regardless of the number of tables occupied. I am happy to report the dining room is fully accessible. The ladies bathroom, however, is not. The facility itself is tired looking as if its better days are behind it. The faucet in the ladies room is barely functional and curiously not actually attached to the sink. read more

Since we stayed at the Hampton inn we decided to walk across the street and eat at Casa Ramos. If you show them your room key you get 15 % off of your bill. I ordered a beef taco and cheese enchilada combo plate with rice and beans. The taco was pretty tasty, but the cheese enchilada was kinda of flavorless. The inside of the Restaurant was nice and spacious, and they had nice photographs up on the walls. I'm hoping tonight was an off night. Ordered a Mojito and it was really watery. My boyfriend asked for a simple drink that they could not make because the bartender was out of town. He then asked for a Greyhound - but they couldn't make that because they didn't have grapefruit juice. Service was ... tolerable - nothing more - and maybe even less. Taquitos were incredibly greasy. We were staying at the Hampton Inn & the staff recommended Casa Ramos as a good place within walking distance where we could take a tired 4 year-old. The service was fast & friendly. Portions were generous. My husband was happy with his Macho Burrito, my sister & I were happy with our Mahi Mahi tostadas, my daughter loved her french fries, my mother ordered whatever the special was & loved it, my brother-in-law was only mildly satisfied with his hamburger. (but who orders a hamburger in a Mexican restaurant???) The chips & salsa were yummy. The salsa is extra chunky! The strawberry margaritas were delicious! Yummy, melt in your mouth deliciousness!! I have only eaten here on two occasions, and both times were during the pretty slow lunch hours, during a week day, So we were taken care of right away. I don't know for sure, if service is this fast during a busy weekend (and it does get busy, by the appearance of the parking lot). Very disappointed. We usually eat somewhere else but visiting family wanted to eat there. Our reserved table was almost given away. Waited a long to order drinks and then another 20 minutes to get the drinks. Waited over an hour for food. In that time waiter never checked on us and drinks never refilled. When we did get their attention we were treated like an inconvenience. When our food finally arrived it was super cold or Luke warm with one child's plate wrong. Waited 15 minutes for two plates to get warmed up and childs meal fixed. Plates came back hot with warm food. Child's plate was wrong again. When we're in Red Bluff we eat here at least twice a week. The food, service and atmosphere are always the best possible. They remember your name and how you like your drinks ! When we bring our toddler they make sure that she have something to nibble on right from the beginning . I've eaten at Casa Ramos hundreds of times, love it ! I'm picky with my food but never had anything to complain about , ever. Everything on the menu is awesome, whatever you order you can't go wrong. They always have a spectacular special, every day.
