So we have been here four times, and the food is pretty good, the chicken enchiladas are very tasty and far better than any down in Sac we have had. The reason I only put four stars is because when we come they seem to forget about us. I have had to get up from the table 4-5 times during two visits just to get the waiter to being us more soda or sour cream. They don't check on you enough in the off peak hours (after lunch but before dinner). Otherwise very good, but don't leave your customers hanging, please. The inside is cozy and the decor is nice enough. The enchiladas and guak will bring us back in, but the lack in service is not impressive. Casa Ramos always seems to be busy. We arrived, greeted and were seated. Good size menu but did find dishes are over priced. We did see some extra jumbo burrito served to several customers. Don't try it but it looked good. We ordered fajitas to share. Asked for pinto beans instead of refried. Our fajitas arrived the portion was small. We were sharing but even for 1 person it was small. They brought refried beans instead of our pinto beans. We didn't catch it at first but it did take a while to find our server to mention the error. The chicken no flavor seemed boiled and grilled briefly on both sides. The plate with rice, beans, guacamole was on a small dish. (the size of tea cup saucer. The waiter brought the pinto beans in a cup, they were barely warm. We didn't ask to replace as the waiter left quite fast. Received the bill, the waiter charged for the pinto beans. When I was in college, I used to go here in Chico, but when they opened one in Lincoln, I was absolutely thrilled. Always wanted to try this place. Once we were seated, realized they have a location in Chico so I have tried it. Well the service s always spot on. So attentive to refills of chips, salsa and drinks. It's almost like having a veggie burrito with a salad dumped on top of it. Overall, it wasn't bad. Flavor of the Chile Relleno is solid. I'd say 3 stars on this one. My wife had the chicken fajitas, and they were great. Put my burrito to shame. Lots of chicken, lots of veggies. The portion size is probably enough for 2. It comes with all your standard fajita add-ons, cheese, gauc, Pico, sour cream, rice, and refried beans. 4.5 stars for the fajitas alone. We were sat & got our drinks quickly. That was the only good part of the evening. We had to wave someone down to order our food. While we were waiting, we asked for chips & salsa. We asked for pico de gallo, more about this later. We got our food & when we got our bill, there was a charge of $4.25 for about 1/4 cup of pico de gallo. The service was as friendly as a brick wall. We spoke to an assistant manager Robert & he behaved like he just didn't care. He probably wasn't even a manager, assistant or otherwise. Robert the "assistant manager" exchanged glances with the server. It wasn't the price of the pico de gallo, it was the fact they didn't tell us it would cost us extra. At this point, we don't care either because we will never come back to this restaurant. Rethink about your customer service because right now there is nowhere to go but up. Good luck. read more

This isn't my first time going here but upon opening the doors you will see certificates titles saying rated # 1 the last one was in 2014 . As the original owner passed away in 2015, so under new management of family members that shall not be named I say Don't be fooled this is actually a warning sign to turn and run away from this place of doom . No music just loud talking over excited and eagerness , The tv volumes were down all the way . So the noticeable partakers of the Saloon had a handful of people that made it awkward not to look what was going on . That gave unwanted attention. So that should tell you how this mood is set upon seating . upon that sound was double with the dishes being slammed with pots and pans and sounds of washing . While waiting I observed the floor and food scattered on the ground and tables not cleared . Also layer of dust on the counters and around the sunflowers tables probably been their since they opened up From arrival time of 2:45 servers kept walking by with glares and stares and side eyes as if I was the black plague of 1348 I was finally praised by the grace of one the servers About 10 min just to get something to drink , the tea was order nothing spectacular just old tea that was mixed with leftover tea from a few nights before . I am sure 3rd world countries have better water to drink than this tea they served today. . But this is Brutally honest and places like this with supposedly print out online titles of best restaurant of the year will get a brutally honest reviews with no special treatment . Remember this place is not full house nor busy , but from the 5 drunks in the sleaze club next to me and the kitchen banging on everything trying to be the next band of rock in roll in the kitchen. As I started to feel something was off. So the food was order 3:03 on the dot simple and easy no special needs just what they had on the menu . Still noticing around 6 table filled , during my wait for food the table next to me was finished . I looked down at my time it was 3:29 they even brought them the check And as I waited my thoughts started to wonder if ordering 3 little tacos in a Mexican restaurant was too complex for the staff this afternoon . Finally from a server not even my server, side eyeing me noticed the frustration and sadness and asked if I was ok . I simply replied I am waiting on my food . He said let me check . And Presto ! 3:31 food arrived . In the picture you will see an art work of colors . But like the movie quote "one ring to rule them all " , darkness dwelled in the hot plates of mount Ramos doom . The cheese Enchilada had a hot plate but that's all it was just a hot plate forged from the fires of this Doomed place , The term a dish best served cold comes to mind . . As I cut in to the enchilada the cheese was cold and not even melted on this lava plate . Nevertheless I still took a bite thinking my eyes deceived me . Out of Frustration I sent it back first time in 12 years , yes I sent a plate back and asked to take it off the my order . I waited 28 mins for cold food ... I thought ???? so I immediately started to taste individual things and 1 of the 3 tacos was cold meat aswell ! and the others were microwave hot so I called the server over again and asked for a To go box for the single rogue cold meat taco that some how couldn't even get to room temp on a hot plate ??? Confused anyone ?? I am ?As I mentioned it was plate of art with colors nothing mouth gasm amazing . As you see in the picture , this is what a 4 time online award print out looks like . 11 years later and slumming it in a retired community. Maybe if the cook cared or management cared enough to show up and check in once in awhile they wouldn't allow actions like this . Here is my observation to the COOK remember that WHY you started to cook ? It was passion and how much TLC you put into every dish ...somewhere along this journey you now look at cooking as a Job so it shows in the flavors and the dishes you allow to be sent out . I hope you find that passion again Honestly who puts tortillas in a microwave to heat up you didn't even cook them on a flat griddle or open flame or just a simple COMAL ..... My final thought and words . The Legacy of a Restaurant established in 1997 and last award is 2014 , I do not recommend this place . I look for quality and passion and this placed is a Greasy spoon With a dive Bar attached to it ,definitely not a family restaurant and the food is as equivalent to a fast food chain as best as Chef Boyardee canned spaghetti and meatballs . We first ate at Casa Ramos when they were in Natomas, unfortunately that location closed. The Lincoln location has plenty of seating indoors and outdoors. The food portions are large, here. We had plenty of leftovers to take home for lunch the next day. We visited on a very busy Friday evening so our food did take a little longer than usual but they kept our chips and salsa full while we waited. The meat was flavorful and moist in all our dishes. We will definitely be back to the Lincoln location. read more

Hate to do this but prices have gotten ridiculous for what you get. Casa Ramos is the most expensive Mexican in Lincoln now. The protein portion for the entrees has gotten smaller and kids meals are half the size. They don't bring you chips right away anymore. Drinks go up, but get smaller too. 150.00 mistake. Salsa was tomato sauce with onions and that was the "hot" one. Got Molcajete that tasted like crockpot tomato sauce, and was served in a bowl. Rice tasted like actual cardboard box. Also got a burrito, the rice looked and tasted like rice a roni and the burrito was 80% rice. For the cost I would have expected at least more vegetables or beans or something but that was really just a rice burrito. The kids even refused to eat the bean and cheese burritos and rice and they eat everything. So disappointing as well as an expensive mistake. Staff was nice at least! read more

My husband and have been going here since ir opened and they take pretty good care of us. A little slow on the service. I called to make reservations for a party of 11 for our mothers birthdays and was told to call back 30 minutes before arriving and they'll set up for us. I called 30 minutes before we left and was told they didn't have room. They had two big parties coming in. So, they obviously took their reservations. Had a really great experience for take-out burritos. Easy to order online, and it all went super smoothly. The minute I walked in the door my bag of food was coming to the reception area. At first I was a bit taken aback by the price- $18.99 for a burrito... but, it was well worth the price for the size and the quality. I got the "macho burrito' with cilantro rice and Chili Coloradom. The term super burrito doesn't describe the size of this dish! Huge. It came in a dinner sized aluminum container, well packaged for transport. The cilantro rice is amazing, distinctly flavorful. And the meat was super succulent and tender. It was all delicious. It came with a bountiful amount of crisp chips and container of well made salsa. A nice accompaniment to the meal. We came to this place because we read all the reviews. Service was pretty quick & easy. Food came out fast and was hot. The place was packed with people. Food was just okay. Not bad. Not great. But decent. We would probably go back but maybe order something different. We had enchiladas, burrito (it was huge), and another dish with 2 different meats which had green sauce and red sauce. The authenticity of the Mexican food just didn't hit right. There were good vibes & an older crowd was present. read more
