Ate here twice and food/service was very good! They must've read earlier poor reviews and improved it instead of taking it personal. Good for them. Try the Michelada with Tecate for a change of pace in alcoholic drinks. read more

Casa Ramos - Mexican Near Me - Corning, California

Always great service and great food. I live right down the street, and this is one of my favorites. Nice to walk in the door and have the staff greet you like you're an old friend. They always know my drink and appetizer order without having to ask. Great portions, great food, great service, great place to eat. Update 07/19/16: Casa Ramos has recently come under new ownership and the food has REALLY gone downhill. Came here today and the food was not just mediocre, but lukewarm and bad tasting. This will be the last time I come here, sadly. It used to be my favorite place to eat right up the street, as well as my husband's. Not anymore. read more

Overpriced and underwhelming. I do not recommend this place, due to the soggy soft food I was served, seemed like it was refrigerated and then microwaved upon order! There is a taco truck catIcorner by the liqueur store, I'd save a buck n try that. Bad food, mediocre service, decent alcoholic beverages. read more

Always a stop headding north on I-5. My favorite, Camarones a La Crema...yum. A very traditional Mexican restaurant with some excellent menu choices. The manager was very attentive and we really enyoued our meal. read more

Terrible. Seafood chimichanga had 4 pieces of seafood in it, food was all cold. The refried beans were so cold the cheese hadn't even begun to melt. This place was good years ago, now it's straight up garbage. Save a few bucks and get better quality food at any other place in town. Their cooks just don't give a **** about your meal and it shows. read more

My rating is 5 stars because of one amazing employee. Chuy is the best waiter! He always takes care of our table, we always ask to sit with him, and if he isn't working we normally won't go because the experience isn't the same. He's attentive, funny, cares about his job and his customers, chats with you but doesn't stay too long, and he will always do the right thing & fix something if it isn't to your liking. He makes the best drinks in the place! Attached is a picture of a drink a friend of mine wanted that wasn't on the menu. She described what she wanted and Chuy made it & he made it delicious! If it weren't for Chuy, we wouldn't come here anymore, he's that awesome! read more

Casa Ramos - AMAZING drink made by Chuy! He knows what he's doing. - Mexican Near Me - Corning, California

Short and simple. You get great tasting food fast. Nice, friendly staff. I will go back soon. :)

Tried ordering take out tonite fast service came straight home and beans and rice were out of the fridge ice cold not even room temp. Dont know why both my husband and my sides were inedible cause of being so cold. This is not the first time this has happened with our food. We try to support our local restaurants but this is ridiculous. read more

Was out on a road trip to a wedding. On our way home we stopped for lunch. This place came up in the signs on highway 5. Glad we did! Great service, friendly staff, large menu. The food was great!!! Loved it! Burrito was on point!!! read more

We recently stopped to eat at Casa Ramos because our past experiences were so good. Unfortunately, that wasn't the case this time. The service was ok. That was after we waited at the front door to be seated while the host gabbed. The food taste like frozen fast food. I'm not sure if it's under new management or ownership. It definitely wasn't what it once was. read more

Food is frozen and usually not heated through! Been there several times thinking it would change...wrong! My bad!!!

Stopped here while driving through. Late on Sunday, nothing else was open. This place loves its $18 entrees. Not being that hungry, I ask for 3 'regular' chicken tacos. Off menu order, I'm thinking the usual double stacked soft tacos with grilled chicken and cilantro. Pretty standard fare for any Mexican restaurant south of Canada. I get three hard shell chicken tacos. Whatever, I misjudged Corning and its appetite for authenticity. Grilled chicken turned in to mushy stewed chicken. You know, that shredded stuff that is super easy for restaurants to produce because they can just throw chickens in a pot for 8 hours and hit them with a stick blender. I ask for a side of pico to add some flavor to the chicken mush/shredded lettuce/grated cheese tacos that a 5 year old might think to be exotic. But whatever. I wasn't clear enough when ordering, I didn't research the restaurant, a lot of these things could be my bad. What isn't my bad and can not be excused away is the following: 3 chicken tacos: $ 11.99 Iced Tea: $ 2.89 SIDE OF PICO: $ 2.99 I have NEVER given a 1 star review for a restaurant. I could order a salad and be given a steak and roll with it. But 20 bucks for 3 tacos and an iced tea? SCREEEEEEWWWWW YOOOOOUUUUU I would have been better off finding a truck. This place wanted their dub out of me and they were going to get it one way or another. It might be a great fit for the locals who plan an exotic night on the town, but not as a stop for passers by or anyone who knows anything about Mexican food. Maybe their specials are good, but if they botch chicken tacos, I can't imagine the alternative. Service was okay. read more

Ordered a veggie burrito, everything in it was old, wilted and shriveled. Didn't eat it, was offered a new one and refused. Don't recommend this place at all. Save your money and go to one of the other authentic Mexican restaurants in this town. read more

I've been here many times for lunch and dinner, and always had a pleasant experience. Came last night for a birthday celebration, and ordered an appetizer & the fajitas for two. The steak had absolutely no seasoning, and tasted like it was cooked in the dishwasher instead of marinated and seared. No lime, no cumin, no garlic, & no salt or pepper. The shrimp was overcooked, and although it had some seasoning, it was still bland. We left the majority of a $30 platter on the table. As my hubby said, "no, just no." The 15% discount the manager gave us was insulting - didn't even cover the tip. I am seriously disappointed. As one of the nicer restaurants in town, you should try harder Casa Ramos. read more

We arrived hungry and tired after traveling all day. Sign says they close at 9:00. Walked in at 8:40. They turned us away. Sad...

Food is OK yet their service is unbelievably slow.

Service was horrible and food was pretty bad...manager spent most of the time we were there flirting with a couple of ladies instead of taking care of the other customers in the restaurant. I will never go back. read more

Food was great, service was on point. Not only were they attentive to refills and taking our order, but they checked on us quite often even though it was busy. Their beans were kind of plain, they needed some flavor, same with the rice but their Chile Verde enchiladas and crispy tacos were amazing and the tamales were good size and moist. Everyone was really nice and made a huge difference. read more

My boyfriend and I went here because I was craving Mexican food. He orders a burger. What came out was literally carne asada meat on a bun with cheese? I've never seen anything like it before. We sent it back and asked for an ACTUAL burger. Not planning on going back. read more

We ate here Dec 1st there were 4 of us are friends and us decided to go out to dinner and they chose casa ramos. As I walked in the food looked good on other peoples plates. But here is the real complaint. Our peaceful dinner was immediately interupted by a very rude mexican man who was talking on his cell phone very loudly directly behind us. One of us turned around and looked at the man hoping it would make him uncomfortable and he would quiet down. It didn't work after a couple of those looks he was confronted and asked to quiet down, no repsponse. Then after another try the man said to one of us F O and continued his conversation laughing and talking loudly. We called the waiter over and asked to speak to the manager, the manager reluctantly went to the man on the phone and the phone man seemed to take over the conversation in spanish and the manager just walked away never did he come back to us and to say what happened or that the matter was taken care of. The phone jockey kept it up. I found this place VERY unprofessional!! Later one of us was talking to a waitress about this and the manager came over and said what can I do about it? REALLY? YOUR THE MANAGER, Your there to take care of problems that come up. He needs to be fired! I plan to take it to the district office. And Just FYI the food was so so. read more

Good food, polite staff, and they were open an hour later than all the other restaurants in town!

Good food and good service. Amazing margaritas, and chips and salsa. The tortilla soup never disappoints! It can get very busy, especially on Friday nights, so there may be a wait. So be prepared for that. read more

Food was so so but the service was excellent. I ordered the chimechunga (chix) and i couldnt finish it. It didn't taste bad but i just didn't care for it. The wait staff was awesome tho and made it a bit more enjoyable. read more

I am surprised by the low overall score for Casa Ramos. I ate there recently with my husband and two children. The food was delicious and I am picky about my Mexican food, meaning that I only eat good Mexican food. My son's carne asada was seasoned well, daughter's flautas yummy, husband's burrito satisfying, and my enchiladas has two different sauces. I recommend asking for the hot sauce and mixing with the regular; the regular is to plain and the hot it too much. read more

First time here and what a find!! Service is as friendly as it gets, the restaurant is nice and very clean. The margaritas are super sized. I had the Carne Asada and it was perfect. A marinated skirt steak grilled to perfection. The sides, rice, re-fried beans and guacamole, were all right. Kudos to the hostess at the Best Western across the street for recommending the restaurant. read more

We've had all types of Mexican food. The good, the bad and the ugly. Casa Ramos is by far, has the best whole beans and salsa we've ever had. We're looking to return very soon.... read more

Just what the Dr ordered! Stopped over on the way from LA. Had a Margarita and a beer to go with the Borrego. It was awesome! Slow cooked in their salsa, it fell off the bone and tasted delicious. Corning is not a destination by any description, but it is a convenient stop over. I will eat here again. read more

We were weary travelers. The staff went above and beyond this evening. Unfortunately the complex Was out of power but they made great Margaritas to make up for it and the food Was very good. Best of luck to the restaurant for there great efforts. read more

Great food! Delicious drinks, and good music. Waitress was prompt with chips and salsa for us. The food took a bit to come out, but it was fresh and very worth the wait! It was hot and so good! read more

Wonderful food, great service, nice décor!

Man bad Mexican food...! Salsa sucks. Food it's not that good tortillas sucked.. Never will I ever come back...!

Casa Ramos. The place to go for a great Mexican meal. I try something new almost every time we come here. Tonight I am trying their seafood platter. It is our favorite place to eat. Doug and I really appreciate the great service and friendly atmosphere. For a great meal, try Casa Ramos Restaurant in Corning, CA. You will not be disappointed. read more

Great food and great service. Order Mexico City tacos. Delicious. We make a point to eat there every time we come through Corning.

Terrible. There was a group of 13 of us. It was 6pm on a Wed evening, and the place was almost empty. We got seated quickly but we were not offered water, didn't get silverware or menus until after we asked one of the waiters. We had a 2 yr old with us so we asked for a high chair to help restrain him and after waiting 20 min and still no high chair the kid was getting antsy. 30 min later we finally get out drink order taken and again ask for silverware and menus. The service was extremely slow. After we finally get to order, we continue to wait for our drinks, now needing refills and the kids are starving. The point is the food is way over priced and the service was extremely slow. I will never go there again, and yes I am a local who in the past thought the restaurant was slow but was going to give them one more chance. All 10 of us adults will never be back! read more

Services was okay but prices were well above average, you shouldn't pay 10 dollars for a burrito and that is on a "SPECIAL." Unless prices are reduced I'm never returning. read more

Carnitas uruapan was so good and tender; more food than I could eat. Mexico city tacos were a hit as well. Service was very friendly and attentive. Pacifico on tap, first we've encountered. read more

Service is mediocre and their food is not authentic mexican COOKED food. Most of their food (that they purchase frozen) was not heated through. I have been here a few times thinking that their food and service would improve, NOT. I strongly recommend people going to one of the local fast food places nearby, than this restaurant. I must agree with all those previous customers who have rated this "restaurant" a one. I will not be returning to this place again! read more

Stopped by casa ramos for some Mexican food, food was good very big portions. Elvia was very friendly and beautiful. Salsa could be a bit more spice but overall food was good. read more

A second stop for the 4 of us. Atmosphere good, drinks good, food all tasty and good, except for my wife's Compusta- devoid of any meat and the lettuce was old and wilted. Thus, only 2 stars. read more

Margaritas are great, but pricey. The carnitas fajita quesadilla was excellent. The side of guacamole was good, but also a bit pricey. I'd come back. read more
