We spent the weekend at this place. The location itself is not the greatest as Primo Tapia area didnt really have much to offer and we had to drive a lot to get to places to eat and stuff. The great part about the location is the view! is right in front of the beach and has private access to it. Along with a pool and jacuzzi. The property itself was okay looking. I was not very impressed but the decor definitely made one feel in vacation. There is security 24/7 too. On the down side, the place was too cold and they only provided 2 heaters, one of which was propane It was not ideal to fall asleep to it and in the mornings it was not enough to keep us warm in the living room. So only one room (the one with the electric heater) was nice and somewhat cozy. At some point it was warmer outside the house than inside of it. That may be good for summer but it was the worst for winter. Also the lock for the place did not work, so we had to leave it unlock when we left. Keep that in mind. Also there was a party somewhere near by that did not stop until 4:40ish am. We were exhausted the next day so it was not the best experience and we wont be back. Great experience from the start! Warm welcome pet friendly. We had good food and drinks. Shrimp Civiche and Flutas. Margaritas and shots! Nice decore around the Cantina. Safe gated entrance. Casa Playa resort was a great place to stumble across while in Mexico. The facility offers everything on one safe, secure and private location. They even had a private beach for sunset walks. Close to plenty of great restaurants, taco stands, and a weekend outdoor markets. Baja Pig was the overall favorite. Great place to stay with a help staff available 24/7. We look forward to our return. Special thanks to Ulga and her amazing home cooked meals. Casa Playa was everything we hoped and more.We arrived late in the evening without a reservation which could have been a nightmare. Thankfully Casa Playa had a room available and were kind enough to book us in after 11pm. Not until the next morning did we realized what a beautiful place we'd stumbled upon. Beautiful rooms, convenient location close to restaurants and shopping. Definitely had the small town feel we were looking for. If you're looking for a quiet place to regroup and unwind. This is the place. Hard to find all these amenities in an authentic style resort that actually feels like you're in Mexico and not staying in a remodeled hospital. Strong recommend! The private beach, pool, and hot tub overlooking the ocean clearly separates Casa Playa from the rest of the hotels that feel like you never left the US. BE AWARE AND STAY AWAY FROM THIS PROPERTY. We were there for a family wedding and someone broke into my daughter's room and stole clothing, shoes and a laptop. Dave, the property manager said they had video cameras but supposedly checked them and did not see anything. He was rude and was not any help at all, he claimed there was no way for anyone to get out through the back but after looking for myself, there is plenty of room between the bars. All the bars where covered in spider webs except for the 4 bars right in front of that backdoor. Dave, accused someone from our wedding party and said it had to be one of us. He refused to do anything to help us in anyway. During the wedding in the evening, there were men circling our rooms and looking into the windows. We had to have several people from our wedding party frequently walk over to the rooms to keep checking on them throughout the wedding so they wouldn't break into any more rooms! Relaxing place away from the madness of Rosarito, however close enough if you want to go visit. Located in the small town of Primo Tapia. I'm so glad me and my fiance took a chance on this place and ended up extending our visit to one more day. We would definitely visit again! They have a private beach area, but no umbrellas or chairs. y family and I were there this weekend for a family wedding and although the location is beautiful, the rooms are not safe. my daughters were in a room toward the back and someone broke into it in the middle of the day and stole clothing, shoes and a laptop. The property manager tried to blame someone from the wedding party and was not helpful what so ever. them at night during the wedding ceremony, we had to send 2 guys from the wedding up to check on everyone's rooms because we could see random non guests scouting out the rooms and looking into them. It was very unsafe and would not recommend anyone stay there. We will not be returning to this location EVER! Dave, the property manager claimed to have cameras and said he would check them but then couldn't even figure out how to rewind them and then just said he didn't say anyone enter the rooms. just not helpful whatsoever and was a real jerk toward everyone read more

The place is beautiful and gorgeous. No better view from your bedroom of the ocean. People are friendly and nice and there is a cool little breakfast place you can walk to you right up the street. I'm giving it a three because they do need to do some minor upkeep. read more

Property is beautiful, however exceptionally remote, with few nearby food and drink offerings. When we checked in they didn't have the wifi password until the next day. Propane wasn't turned on when we checked in and it took hours to get it on. They refused to provide a clicker to open the gate and it was difficult to get their attention to get it opened. We were finally able to get a gate key so we weren't trapped outside when we walked. In addition they nickel and dimed the little amenities they had, such as border fast pass was $50 in addition to the room which wasn't disclosed until check out. read more

Yes this property is beautiful but BEWARE! We stayed here through Airbnb and rented two of the houses for a joint bachelor/ette weekend. The first night, while we were IN the homes, one of the onsite security guards snuck into our rooms downstairs and stole cash out of a purse in one house and a wallet in the other. He conveniently called in sick the next day, same as the owner/manager. There are security cameras on site but not pointed at the homes. They claimed they couldnt see anything on the cameras, but anyone working there would obviously know how to maneuver around without being seen. The master bedroom slider of the Luna house was broken. Though it looked like it locked, it wouldnt fully latch - giving the appearance of safety without actually protecting you. The second night I had to prop a piece of furniture in the slider door way to make sure no one could get in. We submitted our reviews on Airbnb and filed claims, but the owner clearly knows how to work the system to get the reviews removed to keep a good reputation. I dont know if the owner is in on his employees stealing from his guests but he certainly refused to acknowledge anything happened or cared that his guests left his property shaken, scared, unsafe, or robbed. I love coming down to Mexico so it really is unfortunate that this place lives up to why everyone is nervous to come to Mexico. read more

We stayed here for three nights to celebrate New Years with family and friends. Location is great but the house is pretty beat up. The furniture is all old and torn. The beds are not comfortable, the sheets are not clean. Someone that we knew stayed there a week before and they told us all the issues they faced and we made sure we emailed the manager. But nothing changed despite his assurances. Most of the toilets clogged and except one, all the showers were broken. They could not even provide portable heaters for all bedrooms that they promised in the email. It rained on New Year's Eve and there was water everywhere in the house. The bunk beds got soaked somehow in the middle of the night. The manager there was useless. He was the only English speaking person there and he just walks away from people when we request something. We stayed at numerous places in Rosarito area before and this was probably the worst experience we had so far. The staff there were great and that is the only good thing about this place. Stay away. I booked this venue for a company offsite event. While we had a fine time overall, I wouldn't go back and would not recommend the venue to others. While I understand that mix-ups happen, we had an unreasonable number of issues come up during and after our stay: * Too few rooms: Not enough rooms were reserved for our group. We had a reservation for 28 people and showed up with 26 people, but there weren't actually enough beds reserved for all of us. We had to spend more than an hour arguing with onsite staff to make sure we got enough beds, which was not a relaxing way to settle into our retreat. * Caterer no-show: Because we had a large group, we hired the owners' recommended caterer for 4-5 meals. They were supposed to serve breakfast the first day, but never showed up. It threw off our whole schedule, since we had to send people to town to buy and prepare eggs for 26 people at the last minute. Staff later told me that we should've paid in cash in advance if we wanted the caterer to come, but that (1) was not communicated in advance and (2) would have required us to pay US$1400 in cash, which is a lot of cash. We later had to send people to town to withdraw large amounts of cash out of their personal checking accounts, which was stressful and felt unsafe. * Broken dishwasher: The dishwasher broke with normal use and flooded the main house we were using. Staff were kind in cleaning up the mess, but it meant that we had to wash dishes by hand for 26 people for the rest of our stay. * Non-transparent pricing: Our contract listed a "Paypal 5.19% Service Charge," which I assumed was a fee that Paypal would charge me if I didn't pay directly from my checking account (Paypal charges you extra to pay by credit card vs. a checking account). It turns out this is just an extra charge that the owners applied to the total. The owners withheld a $440 "Paypal charge" from my deposit without ever explaining what it was, despite my asking repeatedly.
