This place has a super authentic Mexican family restaurant. The decor and outfits are spot on and everyone was super nice. To start, the chips and salsa are good, the salsa is not hot but it's the perfect mix of wet and chunky. I really enjoyed their mix and their chips were fresh and really good. The reason I'm giving 4 stars is because our food too a really long time for a Mexican restaurant. We had a party of 5, but no one ordered anything extravagant. They were pretty busy but nothing over the ordinary. It took probably 30 minutes. However, everyone enjoyed their food and the prices were fair. I had the chipotle enchiladas and everyone at the table said mine was the order of the night. They were chicken enchiladas with cheese and an amazing chipotle sauce. They thankfully gave me a generous amount as everyone used some on their entrees. My husband had the pork burrito and he like it, it was a good size but he said the sauce was bland and it did not come with rice. My husband also had the coconut margarita and downed it. Food is Great. Service is super curtious. It's really clean and festive. They have a great gift shop filled with great culture and artful things from Mexico. We all grew up just across the boarder from each other. I know I did. I peruse the shop when I'm waiting for my take out (which is warm still when I get home - HUNGRY for my favorite comfort food). It's been a few years since I was here. I recently ordered take-out chicken tacos. I tried calling in my order but the call went to a voicemail that was full. I learned the staff working the front area have only one phone line and if it's busy the call goes to a voicemail which was full. The place is busy so we had to wait about an hour to be seated. We also had a party of 9. Everyone on the way out was happy. The chips were decent and the salsa was good. Chunky which is my preferred. My side salad add on (only $0.99 was dripping in water. The bowl was half full of water. It was cheap chopped iceberg lettuce with a little cabbage. Don't waste your money. I ordered Mariscada. It is a fish dish and it was fabulous. Comes with beans and rice (which I barely touched because I had too many chips). All of our group enjoyed their dishes. Nothing tasted ordinary, they had personal touches to make it special and unique. The prices were definitely reasonable as well. The whole place has an old world feel which is marvelous except, the dining room/bar was very noisy and the bathroom is cramped. I can't imagine a wheelchair or walker getting in there. Dewey is a small town so this will be a drive for most, but it was worth it. read more

This is the best location for us in Dewey, and they never disappoint We usually order the same thing each time: Shrimp Ceviche Tostada and Taco enchilada combos and the price point is perfect!! This is a great Mexican restaurant in Dewey, I had through Chile Relleno death Camarones which was an overstuffed open-face Chile relleno with corn tortillas - yummy! My husband son had through Carne Asada with cheese enchilada with homemade flour tortillas. We started with a cup of tortilla soup and green Chile cheese crisp which was crispy. The service was great. The place was clean and all covid prepared. The réglennos was pretty good but a strange eggy taste. The beef burrito was good and smothered in a tasty sauce. The taquitos were ver very dry and so was the beef inside, which was disappointing but solved a bit with the sour cream and guacamole. Rice and beans are great. Good Mexican for this area. We're from Texas and have had a hard time finding what we fee is authentic TexMex. But I'd go back and try other things for sure. read more

Being from the southwest (El Paso & Alamogordo), my family literally raised me on Mexican food, mostly made by my "Tia" Maria or "Tio" Pune (Nepunoceno) Salcido. Maria was more than my grandmother's housekeeper & my babysitter: I knew the family very well, and ate and played at their house often. My point is, I know good Mexican food, since I ate it for breakfast, lunch, & dinner, growing up! Moving recently to Prescott Valley from southern California (Ventura), I was skeptical about finding really *GOOD* Mexican food. Sure, there are lots of Mexican fast-food places that are OK, but Casa Perez stands out: great atmosphere, delicious food, friendly & welcoming staff, and reasonable prices. Since it was my birthday (62!), I wanted something a little different from the standard enchiladas, tacos, & burritos. I ordered the Molcajete. Translated, it's a morter & pestle. What I got was a bubbly lava cauldron of beef, chicken, chorizo, with veggies, sauce & queso fresco, and a side plate of rice & beans. It was delicious! The beans were especially tasty!
