Great food. I came here a long time ago. We went back and ordered the mocajete, Mole, and the Tlayuda. Everything taste good. This style of Mocajete doesnt have salsa in the mocajete, which makes it not spicy. Salsa on the side. Mocajete came with chicharon. Mole negro is on sweeter side. Not spicy either. But the chicken was little dried. My favorite is the Tlayuda. It was really big. Enough for 2 people to share. It's a small restaurants and can be busy on the weekend. Service can be slower here on the weekend. Not many parking spots, but can park on the neighborhood street. Not a super fancy restaurant. Cute and family friendly for small kids. read more

I really wanted to like this place, but unfortunately our experience started off on the wrong foot and ended with us leaving. When we arrived, the hostess was not welcoming at all. I simply asked if they accepted digital payments, and she responded with a confused "huh?" while looking at me like I was the one being unclear. I then clarified "Apple Pay," and she said yes but the interaction already felt uncomfortable and unprofessional. We were seated, and shortly after, we were told we couldn't bring in outside food. Normally, I understand that policy but in this case, we have a 3-year-old who is a very picky eater, and the restaurant didn't appear to offer a kids menu when we checked beforehand. That's why we grabbed him something small from the food court so we could still dine there as a family. Instead of showing any understanding or offering a solution, the hostess simply told us we couldn't stay. Because of that, we had no choice but to leave we're not going to let our child go hungry or waste the food we already purchased. It was disappointing because we were fully planning to dine there and spend money, but the lack of customer service and flexibility cost them our business. I hope management takes this as feedback, because situations like this don't just affect one table they impact whether customers ever return. read more

If you're looking for authentic Oaxaca flavors this place is it. We've tried the tlayuda and mole chilaquiles and loved both dishes. Their customer service is great and in Spanish so we felt that we were transported there during our meal. Everything was wonderful! Oh! One of our friends ordered the hot chocolate and it came with a bread for dipping I guess, it looked fun and delicious. Always support the locals. Since I can remember this restaurant has been open. The food is tasty, the service is fantastic and it's a very chill cozy environment. They don't sell hard liquor but a model will do. We order fish breaded tacos. The toppings was cabbage, tomaotes, cilantro, onions and a very good sauce. The breaded fish were small due to the small Tortillas but I feel that at 4.49 each small taco a little more fish should be added. Please do not take this review wrong. I enjoy my two tacos, the model beer, the music from MIKE and my time with my hubby. Will I order the fish tacos at 4.49 each no. I prefer mole with chicken. Authentic! This was our first time coming and we were greeted the minute we saw staff, making the ambiance pleasurable. We ordered the Cafe de Olla, it was delicious and it came with a concha! As we ordered and waited for our food looking around it looks like a big restaurant and great for families. The food came out at a timely manner and we ate every last bit of it! I recommend "La Tentación", it has a little bit of everything and feeds up to three people depending how hungry you are. The price in everything was well worth it as well! read more

I love a good mole, so I was pleased when the server brought some chips with mole coloradito on them to the table. I found the mole to be slightly sweet and less spicy than I prefer for a coloradito (although I'm accustomed to the mole from the border, not Oaxaca). But the server brought more chips with mole negro on it to try and it was excellent, so I ordered the mole negro plate. The mole had great depth of flavor and a nice spicy kick, the chicken was tender, and the beans were very flavorful. And their corn tortillas the best indicator of a good Mexican restaurant were fresh off the comal, oversized, soft, and tasty. The only downside was trying to get my wheelchair underneath a table, although they worked hard to accommodate me. I found only one space in the entire restaurant that fit my wheelchair (which fortunately was unoccupied). We also have a disabled parking space right outside the door. Based on my one experience at Casa Oaxaca, I would recommend it to others. read more

We had a nice lunch here. Parking is rough and we ended up a few blocks away. The restaurant was busy but seemed to move efficiently-- we waited 25 minutes for a table. The food was incredible. They have complimentary chips with salsa and mole and we ordered quesadillas dorados for an appetizer. The quesadillas were fantastic. For mains, I had chicken mole -- a leg/thigh quarter smothered in mole with rice and beans. A bit messy, but amazing. My wife ordered one of the bass filet platters (filete de ajo?) and it was the best single piece of fish I've had in ages. The staff were courteous and we had a great meal. The lunch rush had died down by the time we finished, making this a good spot to hit off peak to get parking out front and skip the waitlist. read more

This is a great spot for Oaxacan food. I have been here several times for breakfast time and got Chilaquiles with green salsa and eggs, and the were so good! For dinner there are so many options I really like the soups and the tlayudas, all depends on what is on your mind that day. The guacamole, the salsa, and the food in general is always super fresh and very tasty. Try the empanadas or the enchiladas or maybe you prefer the pozole verde? Yummy! We got four plates, i forgot the name of some but my top favorite was the appetizer plate La tentación, it was full of flavors, every item in the plate was cooked to perfection crunchy outside yet soft. We got the maracuya, and horchata drink and did not disappoint either. Their michelada was very good too. Service was amazing as well, our server was super attentive even though they were very busy. This is a great spot for Oaxacan breakfast lunch and dinner. I came here around breakfast time and got Chilaquiles with mole, which is not on the menu, but they allowed me to customize when Chilaquiles, so I really appreciate that! The guacamole, the salsa, and the food in general was super fresh, it was clear that they make their food the day. You can tell because the guacamole was extremely green and fresh. They have a small parking lot they can park at. The surrounding neighborhood has permit parking so make sure to keep your eyes out for that if you decide to park on the street. The interior feels very homey and warm, all the walls are painted a bright color that reminds me so much of l colorful Mexican houses. I look forward to returning and trying more of their menu, and ordering a Horchata with tuna (tuna is cactus fruit in Spanish) I regret not getting that drink. read more

I give this spot a 4 because I'm not a mole fan at all but the mole here was really tasty and the flavor is different from other places I've seen and tasted mole. The mole is a great dip for the tlayuda I had. I ordered the cheese avocado and tomato with bean paste. Not a huge fan of the tlayuda however with mole as a sauce it tasted more flavorful. Delicious authenticate Oaxacan food. We went around lunch time and had the veggie tlayuda, a tentación (which is a sampler platter) and Xoxhilt (Mexican chicken soup). The tlayuda is the size of a giant pizza! They let us know they make smaller sizes too if you're looking for an individual size and it comes with soup. I would definitely recommend the tentación if it's your first time here to try a little bit of everything. The ambiance was nice, the service was so helpful and hospitable as well.
