Mango Habanero Shrimp Tostadas.
Marlon J.

If you get a chance to go, The Mango Habanero Shrimp tostadas are delicious. Regular Ceviche tostadas are also great and good portion and fresh.

The order: - Battered fish tacos: got 2, they're really big and filling. They give such big hunks of fish and the toppings of cabbage were so crisp and wonderful. The sauce was delightful. Love that I can cover this to my hearts content with whatever is at the salsa bar. I got pickled onions galore and so much green salsa (my fav!). - Gyro taco: I will pass on this. I wanted to try for the deal and see what their Mediterranean food tastes like. I didn't like it in a corn tortilla. I thought the flavors clashed. I ended up just eating the meat to get my moneys worth. - Shrimp ceviche: got it with chips instead of tostada, absolutely the right choice. This was really well prepared. No tomato sauce at all, just the way I prefer. This has LOTS of plump shrimp and it's simply made to allow all the fresh ingredients shine. I def recommend this!! I found my new Tuesday spot

Fresh, flavorful, and such a great spot…read more We came in for lunch and were lucky enough to beat the rush. There are so many things on the menu that looked amazing, so it was hard to decide what to order. We went with the grilled shrimp entrée and the whitefish entrée, and both were cooked perfectly and packed with flavor. The entrées came with roasted vegetables and a side salad, and we opted for rice as well. Everything was nicely prepared and made for a satisfying meal that still felt light and healthy. My only personal preference would be to go a little lighter on the sauce over the shrimp. It was a bit heavier than I prefer, but the shrimp itself was fantastic. The salsa bar was delicious and had a great variety to choose from. And naturally, I had to add the baklava for something sweet after the meal. It was a lovely way to finish. The service was phenomenal. Everyone was incredibly friendly, welcoming, and attentive, which really added to the experience. There's clearly a lot to explore here, and I'm already planning what I'm ordering next. Definitely a new favorite.

Simple lay out and both times pretty full, seems that Lobster dish is the one that keep them coming. The have lunch specials 7 days a week and the 1st time we tried from that menu. Served with a simple soup that was very tasty for visually simple. My wife got a dish with catfish that she really liked. My 2nd visit I went with the Fried noodle dish, he made it with chicken and shrimp and it was amazing. Service is great and they kind of work the floor like a team and keep all the tables happy. Our 1st waiter knew a little Tagalog and playfully attempted to use it. He was really funny. Both times we took food home and had plenty of leftovers. Great little hidden gem that is a bit out of the way but worth the travel. Go check them out.

Turns out, it wasn't nearly as crowded as before - though spoiler: the price has increased a lot (I want to say it was $25/lb 10 years ago, and now is $37/lb). Keep in mind too, you can't get a small amount like 1lb - usually it's gonna be 3+lb so your bill is easily going to hit mid-$100 to $200s from the lobster alone. That being said, many people swear this is the best, and that's why they can charge whatever they want. I'm actually allergic to lobster (lol) but am a team player so I just sampled it for the funsies, and had to get another dish to actually eat (went with the beef lok luk). My family said the lobster noodle was good, but not like, fantastic (which we were expecting not fantastic but yeah, mostly came here to a family meeting.) The beef lok luk was also pretty good like, 4.3 of 5 - we just had another version at Paradise which was astounding (like 4.6) though also more expensive and pretty far away. Overall, not sure if we'll come back again as we're more curious about the copycats that have popped up which might be 80% as good and much more affordable. Stay tuned! :)

We celebrated our anniversary last night at WG and the wonderful experiences just keep happening!…read more We were warmly greeted with a "happy anniversary' and had a personal touch at the table of a note card and flower petals. our server, Cara, was attentive and friendly. We never felt rushed, which is just what we wanted. Scott, the manager, came to our table when we had an issue with part of our order...he was gracious about taking care of the mistake. The food was delicious and the atmosphere inviting. We will continue to be a customer and also recommend WG for anyone looking for a night out

I remember going to this place a while ago, and loving their buttersquach gnocchi or something…read moreclose to that. The side came with the halibut. And it is one of the best sides, I ever had in my life. I even went to the LA Water Grill looking for it and it was not there. Recently, I was celebrating another precious birthday dinner (a little delayed by 7 days but still counts) and decided to go here, last minute. My friend and I had reservations at another restaurant across the street in the mall. But, I wanted to be a little bit more hungry, so we decided to walk around and then cross the street to find our place in Water Grill. So we crossed the bridge that connects the mall to the other side where the Water Grill lies and with the heatwave we are enduring as Californians, the walk felt like a trek through Arizona streets. I have never been to Arizona. But now I do not have to, apparently. I had called the joint before but they told me they were absolutely book for the night. I have lived long enough to know that place in a crowded restaurant is sometimes a matter of finding a crevice to call one's own. But a crevice is sometimes found only through efforts. The staff was prepared to show us options, one of two bars, and seating in other areas of ther expansive restaurant. I think there were three options and all of these were in the avaiable areas. They did not try to find me a table in their main dining rooms, which is fine. I did enter as a peasant looking for stale bread. Ronnie, my friend, did not want to sit anywhere where the heat was abundant, but luckly on our trek through the bar we found a group departing. Those seats were for us. People were barely getting up. I was almost the tazmanian devil, but contained, I did not want to lose these seats which meant for us, to another person who needed those sits. I am not sure why but I was acting like a bridemaids during a clearence sale for her best-friend's desired gown. I wonder if this happens in real life or I am imagining a scene from a movie that made women savages when it came to low priced clothes? The stools had food rests. My feet did not hang. A significant plus! The crevice had been found, and, like mice who had found their cheese, we were ready to split food and giggle like rats as we did! It was a superb meal! Like, a holiday was had in the moment. Once I found the halibut with the gnocchi my made was made up. Nothing else would due but what I had waited for and found anew. Since the LA shop did not have it, I feared that this place would not as well. We also ordered brussels. Roonie ordered their sirloin and their chimichurri. At one point, I combined the gnocchi, with the halibut, and smeared the chimi, and ate it in one mouthful and the proceeding pow was a blast from the present to the taste buds. The Delorian arrived and parked in my tongue, is what I am trying to say. Our server was Diana. And I thought that she would be more familiar with the fact that Diana was the real name of Wonder Woman. So I am making some lame dad jokes, even though I have not fathered any children, about Amazon and Thymescara. And she politely nodded but later found out that she was not connecting my jokes. But I guess dad jokes can be like that. She was also really kind of cool as a server. For instance, Ronnie wanted to enjoy mac and cheese. I ordered but then I walked and saw their beautiful ears of corn and wanted some. Ben eut we were informed that we had enough food and the corns probably would not be needed. Diana accomodated the request of swapping the mac for the corn. I wanted no chili. Then corn on the cob came with chili. She said that she had put in the order. And then a second order of corn came without chili. Ronnie, being the pure angel she is, was like Do you need the chili corn back? And I was like, now we licked it. Simply because I feel that the restaurant would be tacky to deliver a wrong side and then ask for it back. Like for the prices you all be charging, they can let us absorb the cost of their mistake. Both ears of corn were left. The real kiss on my birthday from the universe was that I was allowed to have an entire side of the gnocchi for 16 dollars. It came. Now there was enough for Ronnie to share. I will admit that before a gurantee of more gnocchi I was wondering if they could share. We also got a tri-flavored cookie with ice cream with a sea horse cookie with ice cream. It was great. Exceptional even. And the garlic on the brussels, I am glad I am not the king of the undead. So this place is a gem under the sea that I can visit from time to time. It is just not that close. But it is not the white whale, nor am I Ahab. I can go more often. And after yesterday's dinner, I do not see how I can not.

We stopped by here on my birthday for a nice evening dinner. Got there a little before sunset. There's just something magical about eating outside during a sunset, especially at the Orange Plaza. The restaurant has such a cool look and vibe! We started off with the Hamachi crudo, salmon ceviche, and a bowl of clam "chowdah". The crudo was absolutely delicious, highly recommend. The salmon ceviche was really good but a bit heavy on the sauce for me. The clam chowder had whole clams in the shell throughout. That was fun to pick them out! For entrees we got the lean and mean plate with sea bass. It comes with salad and rice, we substituted the rice for black beans. We also got the skirt steak "bulgogi" which was served on top of mushrooms and bok choy with a sweet soy sauce. They accidentally brought out salmon instead of sea bass, but were very apologetic. They brought out a sea bass on the side and comped the entree to make up for it. Great service right there! The salmon and seabass were both delicious and cooked perfectly. The steak was tender and juicy, full of flavor. As a birthday gift they brought out a thai milk tea blondie sundae which was soooo good! Get it if you like sweets. I wish the owners all the best in their future endeavors, they created a great restaurant that many will miss.
