Brand new place in West Van and first time here celebrating a birthday. Food was very nice. Staff was very welcoming. The place is spacious and there is seating outside if the weather is nice. Must try if ever in the area. They also have some italian products for sale worth looking it. Very pleasant to see they had Bigoli pasta.

One of my top 3 picks for authentic Italian cuisine in west Vancouver. Unfortunately located across the street from another excellent Italian restaurant mangia e bevi, pick #2! If you like a pizza and pasta this is a solid choice. For fancier, dining room fare go across the street or Carmelo's further east along marine drive. This recently open establishment has authentic dishes you will be happy you stopped to try. Imagine eating with family and friends around the kitchen table vibe. There are many great take away options, panini's, pasta, pizza and dolce! Great choice for aperitivo's with a light snack.

Newly opened Italian Restaurant with amazing food. Definitely must try! Pizza is European style thin crust and all the pasta and deserts are house made. Really nice experience!

Very expensive, terrible value, lacklustre pasta that could be made at home. Pizza was decent but not worth the price.

Very cute mom and pop place The servers were fast and knew what they were doing. They had servers just for grating cheese and pepper and taking away plates and others just for taking your order Carpaccio (21) - we enjoyed the carpaccio. Not overly done with cheese or greens. Not too chewy either Prawns appetizer (22) - cooked perfectly and seasoned well. Could do with a little more vegetable Linguine vongole (26) - tasted like the sea. Noodles could have been less cooked but then again it depends on your audience. The clams tasted fresh and were sweet. Seafood pasta of the day (26)- had squid in it. Also tasted like the sea (in a good way). Pasta was the same as the one above except the toppings were different Arugula pizza (24) and Primavera pizza (24) - the pizza dough is obviously the same on both but both were delicious. Well cooked and chewy. The toppings were different. I preferred the meat one more just because I love proscuitto. Well balanced. Would recommend the pizza over the pasta Tiramisu (12.50) - pretty standard. Not overly sweet. Generous portion for the price. Wouldn't order it again Overall I thought the food was not bad and the service was pretty good. The seafood pasta flavours were something you can't make at home. The pizza was also good. This is a cute neighborhood joint. The prices are also good

Gotta say the pasta was pretty damn yummy but still they need some major work on their…read moreservice/kitchen staff efficiency...so 2 stars. (I'd give 1 for service and 4 for food). Here's how it went down: I walked in off the street and the girl taking orders seemed totally overwhelmed. I asked how long for my order - 2 pastas and a bocconcini salad - and she said 30mins. I was about to say forget it but then she remembered pasta doesn't take so long - 15/20mins. Inevitably I ended up waiting 10mins to give my order, 35mins for food and, though it was good, they forgot my $9 salad. Didn't realize 'til I was home. She was snarky too when I'd come in to ask if my order was up, not remembering that I'd ordered anything. Hate it that restos don't take more pride and put someone with skill on their front line.

Not inspiring nor especially good, however. Service is uneven, but improving since they increased staff recently. I suppose it's largely lassitude that keeps us coming here. I definitely need to find a more exciting alternative for post walk munchies.

Came for a friend's birthday dinner and she selected the $89 "let us cook for you" option…read more For 4 adults, we had an appetizer, 2 salads, 2 pastas, 2 pizzas and 2 meat dishes and 2 desserts. I was not sure if this was the right directions but we may not have chosen what our server/kitchen offered and was pleasantly surprised and enjoyed our evening. My favourite was the watermelon salad, roasted mushroom salsa bianca pizza, rigatoni cacio e pepe, wagyu beef, and sole mio dessert. We immensely enjoyed our evening with flavourful food, great service and surrounded by a relating atmosphere. Each season, the menu rotates to reflect the local in season items. A reservation is a must and easy street parking with pay and free. Will definitely come back in the fall to try again

I returned for brunch with a group of friends. I already have high expectations for this place,…read moreand so was curious whether they maintain the same standard compared to when I visited last time. We arrived on time for our reservation. During the day, the room is still as bright and vibrant as I remembered. But maybe not as busy since there were a few empty tables, so the hype isn't as strong as before. The four of us decided on the brunch "alla familigia", so they kitchen could decide what we would be best for us based on wants and food restrictions. We ended up with the following: - Elio Maple Bacon: Very good. Thick cut, and accompanied by the heat of the jalapeno jam - simply delicious. And a surprisingly large portion size. - Potato Latke with Gravlax - Excellent. Perfectly balanced bites. There was one for each of us, but I wanted more. - Baked Ricotta with Sourdough. Ok. You can never go wrong with Small Victory Sourdough. Ricotta was ok, but wanted something a bit sweeter. It was sort of bland, even with the berry agrodolce. - Fried Chicken & Waffles: Very good. Super tender and crispy chicken. Waffles were nice. - Elio Breakfast Pizza: Good. The quality of the thin crust pizza is excellent. Breakfast toppings were good, but not my top choice. - Pepperone Pizza: Excellent. Classic and perfectly made. - Brioche French Toast: Very good. When we thought we were done with the pizzas, we got this. We were pretty full, but eyeing this freed up space. Maybe a bit over the top in terms of ice cream, apples, crumble and maple, but a great way to end the meal. Service was excellent. Staff here always go the extra length to be personable and make you feel at ease. Overall, a very good brunch. Mostly really good food, and excellent service. I would rate this a 4.25 visit, so not bad at all. I think the dinner food items are even better, but at a extra cost too.

Stopped by Nook on Denman Street for a casual Italian comfort food dinner…read more The Food The kitchen turns out straightforward, well-executed classics. We shared a pizza and the Rigatoni Boscaiola. The pizza crust had great leopard-spotting and a chewy, blistered edge, with the tomato sauce tasting bright and fresh rather than sugary. The rigatoni was cooked properly al dente, catching plenty of that savory, creamy mushroom-and-sausage sauce. It's thoroughly satisfying, though like many rich pasta dishes, the sauce leans on the heavier, saltier side toward the last few bites. We finished with a slice of their house tiramisu, which was airy, nicely soaked with espresso, and not overly sweet. The Service Lively, attentive, and down-to-earth. The staff handled the dinner rush smoothly, we were greeted warmly, menus were dropped right away, and wine recommendations were casual and honest. Even with a queue forming near the door, we never felt aggressively pushed out, though the pacing of the plates is definitely brisk. The Ambiance Snug, energetic, and very much a classic West End neighborhood joint. It's a tight room with warm lighting, rustic wood accents, and a bustling open kitchen/bar area that fills the space with good cooking aromas. Because tables are packed closely together, the noise level climbs quickly once the room fills up, so it feels more vibrant and buzz-y than quiet and intimate.
