Super delicious! I had a great watermelon agua fresca, shrimp taco and carne asada taco. Fresh and quality ingredients and excellent service. I went with a large group of friends and we moved through the line quickly. Comes with chips and if you ask for some, salsa. You also have to ask for napkins and any needed (plastic) cutlery...I had to go back for that and wish it was just out to grab. Maybe it's more sanitary this way? But who isn't going to need at least one napkin?! Just give me the napkin please!

While the classic SF Mexican spots are mostly all located in the mission, this Noe Valley hole in the wall did not disappoint. Casa is a more traditional Mexican restaurant than other spots I've been to in the city. Burritos and tacos are very good and for a very affordable price! The salsas are my favorite part. Service is very kind and quick!

If you're used to Mexican food in The Mission or Excelsior, Casa Mexicana II may not hit for you. It didn't hit for me. My go-to taqueria is Mexico Tipico (Excelsior) but I didn't have enough time to deal with the parking situation since I was working so I gave Casa Mexicana II a shot (their original location Castro is permanently closed). Casa Mexicana II is open for takeout, delivery, and indoor dining. No outdoor dining. I ordered the Chicken Mole Burrito w/ no rice and no beans, and added guacamole. With chips and salsa, it was $11.90 (pre-tip): https://bit.ly/2WrgsQR. The burrito was overly wet, bland, and not enjoyable. Maybe it was an off day but it was devoid of the rich spices I associate with a good mole. I ended up just using the chips to scoop out the filling to eat with salsa. Three stars is for the very efficient service and the kind cashier. With the current labor shortages, there's not many places where you can get in/out in 5 minutes (!!!) during the lunch rush. If you're craving Mexican food, aren't picky, and can't get to The Mission or Excelsior, Casa Mexicana II may be a decent option for you.

I ordered the carnitas burrito and my husband ordered the carne asada one. We also asked the guys for a salsa picante and their house made one delivered! I think about this burrito daily and am willing to travel across the country to get it again. Not to mention, but this is a Mission style burrito in the Mission! This is the only way to do it and I now totally understand the hype.

A few people were already in there eating, and we know this place is good, as a few others in our group and I have been here multiple times. The Taqueria is typical of any other, with bench-style chairs for folks to sit on, a water station, and workers cooking it up in the kitchen. I wasn't too hungry, so I grabbed a Super Lengua Taco, while my friends grabbed burritos, we ended up grabbing 3 complimentary chips and guac/salsa with our order and the food came out pretty quickly. When I saw my Taco I forgot how much they stuffed it and wow, two of these would've filled me up just like a taco; there was so much Lengua that it kept falling off after every bite. The flavors all came together and I scruffed down the whole thing after about 6+ bites! Definitely a place to come to if you're looking for a full meal, or something to snack on!

Crunchy with shrimp and a creamy cabbage and the chicken redolent with lots of fresh cilantro, it was the first time I had a red taco. This will be my go-to always. My son had the crunchy red burrito ($15.75) with chorizo, crispy cheese, sour cream, pinto beans, guacamole and pico de gallo with a horchata to drink. On a Saturday night in the Castro, this corner of 16th and Market is already poppin' with area bars so while they'll rush out with your order curbside, my son dashed in for speed. Super friendly service, cute cafe tables for dine-in, Tacos El Tucan is now on the dining circuit. Love this spot and it's close by, too. Open very late on Saturday night 'til 2am if you're partying and craving drunchies.

I have tried a plethora Mexican food places as I enjoy it the most and this has by far let me down the most. Although it is super packed and has a lot of business I suspect it used to be amazing and build a reputable name, then finished quality over time and continue to receive customers due to their past performance. The ambiance makes you think that this place offers amazing food considering the amount of people but when you try the food you will truly understand Super Burrito Carne Asada - 3/10 Regular Burrito Cabeza - 5/10 Burritos are extremely small, very oily and have barely any meat inside. Sauces are mid and they are very stingy as well, the won't provide extra sauces even if you ask nicely. Everything just tasted...bad; if you read this hopefully I can save you some money. Any other mexican food spot would be a better selection. Overall rating 2/5.
