    Nacho with carnitas

My husband and I visited Haight Ashbury - tried out Street Taco. It was pretty busy. We got a nice table by the open window. Got a nacho with carnitas, tacos with grilled chicken and carne asada- the portions of meat are generous and tasty. Wished it had more onions, cilantro, salsa, but still very tasty. Nice bustling atmosphere

    Cute signage and entrance

The portion sizes were huge! Had I known, my son "The Incinerator" and I could've easily split a plate even with his appetite. He had nachos with grilled steak, cheese and extra guacamole and sour cream. I asked for extra shrimp on my nachos and got extra everything! (I think the owner thought the "extras" were for both plates). The dining room was small and dark and the service was curt. My son asked for salsa and then ice water and was pointed "over there" where nothing seemed to be. The mood seemed to be that of a couple having had a fight and it spilling over into a public space. That's what it felt like. And haven't we all been there? Eh, so I'll give 'em a pass. Based upon the quality -and quantity - of the ingredients, especially the tasty shrimp, I'd give this spot another try, maybe for takeaway next time.

Good was very basic, I got a super burrito and in my opinion was not "super" at all, the sizing and food portion was not it for the $14 price. I felt like I was still hungry and the burrito didn't taste like an authentic Mexican burrito, flavor lacked. The service was nice and fast though and the ambiance was standard. I'd go again if I was nearby and needed something quick but wouldn't go outa my way to go back.

Food was delicious! Service was fast and staff were very nice. The restaurant was pretty clean but the restroom was out of order. Would go back!

Solid taco spot on Haight for a quick bite to eat. Service was quick and fairly priced. I had the street tacos with Al pastor and my friend had the carnitas. The carnitas were a little bit fatty and I could have used some more seasoning on the Al pastor but overall it was a good meal! Their chips and salsa were delicious! Perfectly crispy and I loved the verde/tomatillo salsa.

Honestly only tried Street Taco because I was day drinking and it was the closest place to the bar. Food came out pretty fast and the prices for 2 tacos that were FULL of meat was great! They aren't your authentic tacos that you'd be daydreaming about but they are tasty enough but really small for $10 The cashier was very friendly and even explained a few items on the menu for me without feeling rush and the restaurant was pretty clean. It took about 8 minutes for my order to be ready and they also give you a small bag of chips. I would try other things on their menu if I'm ever in the area but unfortunately there are other better places for tacos that just have that extra kick and taste to their meat and overall.

Honestly One of My Faves and very under appreciated. For the Richmond and Sunset District Residents, I highly recommend. The staff is amazing. The Carne Asada is one of my favorites. Our Run Club goes every final Tuesday, they serve 15+ hungry runners with a smile.

Something that I like about my life right now is that I have been feeling those movie moments a lot more than I have before this year. This San Francisco trip has made me feel a lot of these. I mean like I only watch YouTube but can a white boy not dream? I've always seen those rotating meat pyramids in videos about Mexican food. This Mexican place had the Great Pyramid of Haight Street. Shit was legendary. That was the first thing that caught my eye when we got into the restaurant. Another good sign was that the guy making the meat was sweaty, if you're not putting your heart and soul into my meat (what?) I don't wanna eat. I was pretty hungry, which I usually let play into the final rating of the review but these tacos made that negligible. I ordered five tacos and what I've noticed about the Mexican places I love and their tacos is that the best ones usually only put the bare minimum on their taco, usually just cilantro and onions and maybe some salsa. I ordered two carne asada tacos, one chorizo (!), and two al pastor. I did NOT fw al pastor before this, it's like taking an edible, you think you're gonna have fun but then it hits and you feel like going to the hospital. But this time it was like the al pastor was laced with whimsy and happiness. It had to have been the Great Pyramid of Haight (I think it's called a spit?). The pastor had such a less traditional al pastor flavor and a much more well rounded taste overall which was really nice for a change. I usually end up liking carne asada but I loved this one. It was cut really well, differently than the other meats which shows some passion. It was seasoned very well and reminded me of the first time I had food at my Mexican friend's house, what a time, I miss you Migs. As for the chorizo it is by far the best I've had, not overwhelmingly spicy as well and each little diced bit being seasoned enough so in combination, it made me smile. As I write this I remember Papi Chulo's, and if they were a five star I wouldn't feel right giving this place a five star as well. I'm so sorry if you're reading this Mr. Street Taco but I truly loved your food, it was some of the best I've had in the longest time. Later

Friendly service. Clean. One of the best burritos I've ever eaten! Also came with a small tray of free chips.

Our reward for running errands in the Haight - lunch from Street Taco. A heaping plate of nachos and a couple of street tacos to go please. They didn't have costilla available but that's alright! Tasty carne asada for the tacos and carnitas for the nachos worked out just fine. Fast and friendly service. We didn't dine in but there were plenty of patrons in the small but still cute restaurant.

Consistently tasty spicy shrimp tacos, interesting street for optionally waiting for takeout outside.

A few people were already in there eating, and we know this place is good, as a few others in our group and I have been here multiple times. The Taqueria is typical of any other, with bench-style chairs for folks to sit on, a water station, and workers cooking it up in the kitchen. I wasn't too hungry, so I grabbed a Super Lengua Taco, while my friends grabbed burritos, we ended up grabbing 3 complimentary chips and guac/salsa with our order and the food came out pretty quickly. When I saw my Taco I forgot how much they stuffed it and wow, two of these would've filled me up just like a taco; there was so much Lengua that it kept falling off after every bite. The flavors all came together and I scruffed down the whole thing after about 6+ bites! Definitely a place to come to if you're looking for a full meal, or something to snack on!

This place is famous for their burritos and especially the "Dorado style," which tastes amazing -- BUT what they don't clearly disclose anywhere is that the Dorado style burrito is cooked in pork lard unless you specifically ask for it "dry" or with vegetable oil. As someone who does not eat pork for religious reasons, finding that out after already eating there was honestly really upsetting. And the frustrating part is that there is NO clear sign or disclosure telling customers this. If I never asked, I would have had no idea. I actually still like this spot and appreciate that they at least offer a dry/vegetable oil option if you ask, but customers should not have to investigate ingredients themselves to avoid pork. Jewish, Muslim, vegetarian, and other customers deserve transparency. A simple sign or note on the menu saying that Dorado style is prepared with pork lard by default would solve this issue completely. Great food, but this absolutely needs to be disclosed better. One of my all time favorite spots in general.
