One of the highlights of me and my fiances trip to La Isla. After reading a few reviews on local spots in Santurce who claimed the best flan and being disappointed, we stopped here after dinner elsewhere and were glad we did. The owner of the place welcomed us and ensured us yes he had flan and that we would enjoy it. One bite and his promise was confirmed. We had went to Kasalta and were left feeling that something about their flan was missing. But Casa Laurel brought me back to the taste of my childhood. While we enjoyed it, the husband proceeded to show off all his fresh fruit juices that he made from fruits on his property, giving us samples of them all and eventually settling on the guayaba juice which was awesome. He told us his wife always does something different every day with the food and we should come back to have dinner. Unfortunately we weren't able to reach there again before we left but he left a lasting impression and the next time we're in San Juan we'll be stopping back for dinner. If you're staying on Calle Loiza give them a try! read more
